A group of House Republicans are allegedly trying to draft former President Donald Trump to be speaker of the House of Representatives following Rep. Kevin McCarthy'souster on Tuesday.
On Fox News' Hannity, Tuesday evening, host Sean Hannity said, "Sources telling me at this hour some House Republicans have been in contact with and has started an effort to draft former President Donald Trump to be the next speaker, and I have been told that President Trump might be open to helping the Republican Party, at least in the short term, if necessary."
Later on in his show, during an interview with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Hannity added, "I've now heard from a number of people. I know for a fact Donald Trump has been contacted about possibly him being an interim speaker."
After Hannity asked Jordan, "Is that a reality?" Jordan said, "I don't know. He'd be great, but actually, I want Donald Trump to be the next president of the United States. If he wants to be speaker, great, but I want him to be president of the United States."
"I'll be clear, he would still run for president. He's still going to be running for president," said Hannity, to which Jordan replied, "That's where we need him, is at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, but if he wants to be speaker then that's fine too."
Following news of McCarthy's ouster, Jordan appeared despondent and told CNN, "I thought it was unfair to Kevin. Kevin, I think, has done a fine job and he and I came in together. He's a good man, um, and he didn't deserve this, in my judgment."
Asked whether he would run for speaker himself, Jordan said, "That's a decision for the conference."

Trump isnt intelligent enough to be Speaker of the House.
Neither was McCarthy.
But the Dems are counting on his replacement as being excellent.
