Donald Trump stopped by "Sneaker Con" to launch new golden Trump-branded high-tops as he closes in on the Republican nomination.

The former US President was met with loud boos as well as cheers at the Philadelphia Convention Center at "Sneaker Con," a gathering that bills itself as the "The Greatest Sneaker Show on Earth" as he introduced what he called the first official Trump footwear.

The shoes, shiny gold high tops with an American flag detail on the back, are being sold as "Never Surrender High-Tops" for $399 on a new website that also sells other Trump-branded shoes and "Victory47" cologne and perfume for $99 a bottle.

It came after Justice Arthur Engorondelivered his verdict in Donald Trump's New York civil fraud trial that sees the former president, his company, and his associates with $355m in fines — with interest $463.9m — and a three-year ban on doing business in the state.

The judge had already ruled that Mr Trump inflated his wealth on financial statements that were given to banks and insurers to make deals and secure favourable loans.

But now a quick eBay search has shown a pair of Donald Trump going for just short of $5,000.

One MAGA supporter claimed to have paid $9,000 bidding on an autographed pair.

Closer look at Donald Trump's 'Never Surrender High-Top'

Donald Trump has launched his own range of $399 gold high-top sneakers for "true Patriots", a day after a judge ordered him to pay $354.9m in fines after overstating his net worth.

"I've wanted to do this a long time," the former US president said, as he unveiled what he called the first official Trump footwear at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia, a gathering that bills itself as the "The Greatest Sneaker Show on Earth."

The shoes, shiny, gold high tops with an American flag detail on the back, are being sold as Never Surrender High-Tops for $399 on a new website that also sells Trump-branded Victory47 cologne and perfume for $99 a bottle. Trump would be the 47th president if elected again.

Same number as you but big whoop.    You only care about this because Trump triggers you.    He wants to try and sell these turds for $400 a pair I could less.    And for the life of me I don’t see why you do care.

Jonathan Karl was really upset about it this morning, before he launched the propaganda show.

I don't know if it is "upsetting" but it is pathetic. Will American schoolchildren 50 years from now learn that on Feb 17 2024 the Republican presidential candidate started selling shoes in order to pay fines he accrued for business fraud ?

Well, they finally broke him.  As far as it being "pathetic" we once had a President travel in disguise out of fear for his life. Another was totally incapacitated in the last year of his term.  I'm sure the attempt to keep head above water won't be seen as "pathetic" by future generations.

If he can sell a million pairs of this overpriced junk then he'll have the bulk of the money he needs to pay his legal judgments. Can he sell a million pairs of them?  An open question I guess, but he's going to sell a bunch of them because there's an endless supply of suckers in Magaland.

It's doubtful that Trump will ever pay a cent of this outrageous fine for a victimless non-crime

Yet, Trump's assets in New York can all be seized and sold...

They can, but does he have any equity in any them or all they all encumbered to the hilt?  He may have taken out loans against all of them.

The Saudis should be good for a loan to Trump of at least $300 million.

Honestly, the shoes are kind of fun. If they weren’t specifically Trump shoes, I might want a pair. I kind of doubt I’d pay that much for them, though.
