Donald Trump on Saturday ranted about Cleveland's Major League Baseball team changing their name to the Guardians, blaming "woke left lunatics" and Republican state senator Matt Dolan for the switch and "polling" his rally crowd on who wants to "keep it" as the Indians.

At a MAGA rally in Dayton, Ohio on Saturday, Trump boosted his endorsed candidate to run for senate against Democrat Sen. Sherrod Brown, businessman and Colombian immigrant Bernie Moreno.

Trump trashed Moreno primary opponent Dolan, a former prosecutor and assistant state attorney general, as well as part owner of the Guardians, as a "RINO" who is "trying to become the next Mitt Romney."

Trump zeroed in on the team's name change from Indians to Guardians as proof the Republican is "easily pushed around by the woke left lunatics."

"So you have a team called the Cleveland Indians. Indians. They're Indians. Indians," said Trump. "And they took the name Cleveland Indians and made it the Cleveland Guardians."

He then made the relatable joke that Guardians sounds like "they're in charge of a trust fund" which is apparently what people who oversee a trust fund are called. "They're in charge of a trust fund, the Cleveland Guardians."

"My attitude is, anybody that changes the name of the Cleveland Indians to the Cleveland Guardians should not be a senator, should not be a governor," Trump said to applause.

He then solicited the crowd's input on whether to "keep" the name Cleveland Indians instead — a name that was changed in 2021 after the team announced their intent to do so in 2020.

"Okay, we'll have a poll. Who wants to keep the Cleveland Indians story? Wait…" he said as the crowd got loud. "So much for that poll."

After a few seconds, he went again. "Okay, ready? Who wants to see the name change to the, and the way they did it, to the Guardians? Who wants the Guardians?" he said as the crowd booed and jeered.

"Okay, nice and loud, now: Who wants to keep it the Cleveland Indians?" he asked, and the crowd went wild with approval.

"That wasn't too tough, right?" said Trump.

Matt Dolan once ran for office as a Democrat, and he's easily pushed around by the Woke Left lunatics who renamed his family's baseball team. Now think of this.

You know, I happen to like baseball. I like sports. And I like tradition. So you have a team called the Cleveland Indians. Indians. They're Indians. Indians. And they took the name Cleveland Indians and made it the Cleveland Guardians. It almost like they're in charge of a trust fund. They're in charge of a trust fund, the Cleveland Guardians. And my attitude is, anybody that changes the name of the Cleveland Indians to the Cleveland Guardians should not be a senator, should not be a governor.

I don't know Matt Dolan, but I just know that he's the guy that I guess owns the team in some form, and he was in charge of changing the name. Who wants… Okay, we'll have a poll. Who wants to keep the Cleveland Indians story? Wait. So much for that poll.

Okay, ready? Who wants to see the name change to the, and the way they did it, to the Guardians? Who wants the Guardians? Okay, nice and loud, now: Who wants to keep it the Cleveland Indians?

That wasn't too tough, right?

He thinks the team should have kept the Indians nickname. So what?

Compare that to the guy with the empty stare who freezes in place when told to “get in from the rain”

every time you show trump giving a speech it drives how much more energy he has and much more youthful he acts.

The name was changed three years ago. Wouldn't a rational person say it's time to move on?  Trump is playing on some of these simple minded  followers prejudices and racism, and of course anti wokeism.

Of course he sounds like a total idiot when he "polls" his audience as to whether or not they want to keep the name Cleveland Indians, when it is gone and it's never coming back.

Total idiocy might be a drawing card for some maga though.

Wouldn't a rational person say it's time to move on?

One thing a rational person would want is a secure border, safe streets and a dollar that is sound.  End of story,

The choice is clear: all of the above or the insanity of the past 3 years.

The border is a bipartisan issue that has been avoided for decades. The United States has a stated policy of allowing people from other countries to apply for asylum. That policy cannot just be disregarded. Both parties need to compromise and come up with the best effective immigration plan we can.

Crime is no worse than it has been in other times in America, and is not a rationale for putting a lunatic like trump back in office.

The dollar is just fine and America recovered from the covid financial effects faster than any other country.

Donald Trump existence as a viable politician poisons America's character every day it continues.

Why?  Is that your response when people complain about Heller?

It's the definition of irrational to think every change is for the better and once a change is made it should never be reexamined.

Lol. Do you want to watch the video of Myorkas bragging about all of Trump's security provisions that Biden unilaterally rolled back and how it was too long to list?

So ''Walking Eagle'' makes a case for bringing back the Indian name to Cleveland. Since he has said publicly that he looks more Indian than Indians (true story) I guess that ''Walking Eagle'' is more full of shit than a Christmas Turkey.

Oh, and in that appearance before the NY commission he was fined $250,000 for lying about  Indians and our ties to the Mafia....And he had to make a personal apology.

Trump's Indian name of ''Walking Eagle'' comes from the fact that he is so full of shit he can't fly.

There isn't an Indian in the world that stupid, Walking Eagle you are one of a kind.
