Bill Barr reveals Donald Trump talked about executing his rivals while in office

The Daily Beast   reported that former Attorney General Barr, who has previously criticized Trump, explained why he has chosen to vote for the former president in the upcoming November election. However, he also admitted that during Trump's presidency, there were instances where Trump discussed the possibility of executing his political rivals.

Barr's revelation came during a CNN interview when anchor Kaitlan Collins referenced claims by former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin. Griffin alleged that Barr was present when Trump suggested that a White House leaker should face execution in the summer of 2020.

In response, Barr recalled, "I remember him being very mad about that. I actually don't remember him saying ‘executing,' but I wouldn‘t dispute it, you know. The president would lose his temper and say things like that. I doubt he would've actually carried it out."

When pressed by Collins if Trump made similar remarks on other occasions, Barr explained that Trump's words were often blown out of proportion. He suggested that Trump's statements were more about venting frustration than serious threats.

Barr emphasized, "He would say things similar to that on occasions to blow off steam. But I wouldn't take them literally every time he did it." Collins pressed further, asking why not.

Barr replied, "Because at the end of the day, it wouldn't be carried out and you could talk sense into him."

Regarding concerns about Trump's authoritarian tendencies, Barr expressed, "I don‘t think the threat is there. The thing that I worry about President Trump is not that he's going to become an autocrat and do those kinds of things."

When Collins asked for clarification on his belief, Barr attributed it to his firsthand experience working with Trump, stating, "Having worked for him and seen him in action, I don't think he would actually go and kill political rivals and things like that."

Facebook  user asserted Trump is "plainly unfit to be an American."

Another user wrote, "He brought it up alot, probably hoping one of his minions would follow through for him. Look how many he worked for him have been charged with a crime doing his dirty work."

A user commented, "The day they grant Presidential immunity, President Biden should order Seal Team 6 to "deal " with Trump and any of the justices who voted in favor of granting a President total immunity. You reap what you sow!"

Another user commented, "We have a criminal on one side and a steady leader on the other. It's that simple. 2024 BLUE ALL THE WAY Be ready for Joe spectacular inauguration on January 2025! Be there, it won't be wild, it will be jovial and respectful."

A user stated, "Yet Billy Barr said he would support him for president …… these people."

Mr. Barr says he will vote for X pres. 45 claiming he is afraid of what President Biden will do.  Please ask Mr. Barr what he thinks a re-elected Biden administration will do to ruin the country.

I remember Barr, at different times, toadying up to Trump-- but at other times criticizing Trump. At different times

Here's but one of several videos I've seen where's he's critical:

NBC’s Lester Holt sat down with former Attorney General William Barr, who stood at the center of many firestones that engulfed the Trump presidency. Barr opens up about criticism that he acted more as the former president’s personal lawyer rather than attorney general, addresses how their relationship came to an abrupt end and if he thinks Trump is responsible for January 6th.

“I do think he was responsible in the broad sense of that word in that it appears that it was part of the plan to send this group up to the Hill. I think the whole idea was to intimidate Congress. And I think that was wrong,” he says.
