Trump is a shameless lifelong conman and grifter. But he is more than that. He has perfected a knack for leading the gullible around by the nose. They trample themselves to give him "love" , votes and money. Jimmy Swaggart and Jim Baker have nothing on him.
Trump has convinced his cult he is never wrong. Oh he is judged by the cult to have committed minor , basically meaningless offenses. He tweets too much , and some of them are "mean", which isnt really nice , but the ones he tweets mean to are commies and Marxists or those from shithole countries so they deserve it and more.
But on the big things, such as claiming the 2020 election was stolen from him and that the FBI is filled with pinkos who want to kill him, he is totally right.
Trump can predict three or four months before an election that unless he wins it will have been stolen from him, and sonofagun, when he loses he is seen by the cult as having had unmatched foresight. This is the political story of Donald Trump, heads he wins, tails he wins. At least to the cult.
He cant actually lose an election, if that happens it was "stolen" from him. He cant be indicted for having tried to overthrow the US government. It didnt happen and even if it did he didnt do it. His phone calls trying to bribe and extort foreign leaders are "perfect".
If his attempt to get the Georgia election officials to change the vote total so he would win were successful, he wins. If it doesnt work, thats ok because the cult will believe him when he says that phone call was perfect too. And anyway, where was the harm in asking?
Now he's on trial for criminal conduct, maybe the ultimate test so far for his heads I win tails you lose con job.
If he is acquitted or otherwise found not guilty it will be proof that he was totally innocent and persecuted by the "deep state" Democrats, commies , Marxists, human scum, and those who hate white people.

There are videos, as recently as yesterday, of folks in MAGA gear literally crying because Trump is being so badly treated by the world. They feel so bad for him they will send him more money when he asks.

After Democrats challenged the 2000, 2004 and 2016 elections (plus local elections like the Georgia Governor election) , challenging an election became the worst thing an American could do . Yet just last week, as part of their annual campaign to discredit and undermine the Supreme Court, a Democratic Senator again claimed the 2016 election was stolen, yet there wasn't a peep of protest from the people who attack Trump for claiming the same about 2020.
Donald Trump once claimed that the Emmy he wanted for his TV show The Apprentice was stolen from him when he didnt win. He accused Ted Cruz of stealing the 2016 Iowa caucuses from him. He said weeks before the general election in 2016 that the only way he could lose is if it were stolen from him.
His philosophy of life is heads I win tails you lose.
