The jury might still be deliberating , but Donald Trump’s media allies have already delivered a verdict to their audiences
Throughout the duration of the Manhattan hush-money trial, Fox News and the rest of MAGA Media have set the stage to absolve Trump in the historic case. Day after day, week after week, popular personalities such as Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Steve Bannon have lampooned the judicial system, portraying Trump as an innocent victim of political persecution.
Inside this alternate media universe, the actual facts of the case never penetrate the bubble that shields its audiences from detrimental developments for Trump. Instead, alternate dishonest storylines are disseminated as the gospel truth.
Not only is Trump entirely innocent of any and all wrongdoing in the MAGA Media world, but President Joe Biden is guilty of nefariously weaponizing government to wage “lawfare” on his political opponent. Audiences are told that Biden cannot win a fair fight with Trump, so he has resorted to illegal “election interference” by rigging the judicial system against Trump.
It goes without saying that these narratives are built on foundations of lies and innuendo that do not hold water. Biden does not control the judicial system. The hush-money case is taking place in New York state court with charges brought by the Manhattan district attorney. And it isn’t Trump’s left-wing enemies who have been making headlines testifying against the GOP candidate in the case, it’s his former allies, such as one-time fixer Michael Cohen and former National Enquirer boss David Pecker.
Nevertheless, millions consuming right-wing media have been fed these deceptive storylines, impacting how voters perceive current events and, more importantly, cast their ballots. In the Republican Party, voters absorb their information from outlets like Fox News, which has dishonestly run defense for Trump over the course of the trial.
“WHERE’S THE CRIME?” demanded a banner on Ingraham’s prime time show Wednesday along with a graphic showing images of Biden, Judge Juan Merchan, and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg “THE REAL FRAUDS.”
In the following hour, Jesse Watters accused Merchan in an on-screen graphic of “LEADING THE JURY” and intimated how “very fishy” it was that a “stop Trump” judge was selected to preside over the case.
The progressive Media Matters said in a study published this week that Fox News has leveled at least 200 attacks on Merchan alone since the trial commenced — a staggering number that does not include the attacks on others associated with the case. And the study only accounted for Fox News, not the host of other entities that make up the right-wing media universe.
It can be tempting to ignore the torrent of attacks Trump’s media allies are launching in their unrelenting efforts to undermine the case. But those forces are shaping how a large swath of the country understands the high-stakes and unprecedented trial taking place in lower Manhattan. And they’re a reminder that if Trump were to return to power, he has a powerful propaganda apparatus at his disposal that will do everything in its power to sanitize his actions — whatever they may be.

Yeah John...it's called freedom of speech and expression and is guaranteed by the First Amendment to the Constitution.
It counters the lies, disinformation, misinformation, and propaganda of the progressive extremists. Are you saying that the people should be deprived of the truth and opposing views be censored?
You know, or should, that this rigged joke of a trial is nothing more than political persecution and election interference. Most rational, reasonable, educated, and knowledgeable people know this too, and will vote accordingly.

The partisan DA, who campaigned on "getting Trump" and doesn't bother to prosecute actual violent crimes, brought in a hired gun from Biden's DOJ to prosecute Trump for a misdemeanor bookkeeping entry that took place 7 years ago, using a Kafkaesque scheme hinging on another misdemeanor that no one has ever been tried on and that he hid from Trump until closing arguments while also failing to charge his own party's candidate who committed the same "crime."
Step out of your partisan bubble and look at this with Trump's name removed. No sane person can see this as anything but an exercise in partisan lawfare, the worst of our lifetime.
Trump becoming the first convicted felon elected President would be a huge step toward reforming the criminal justice system. Just remember it has been Democrats who claimed that crimes don't matter. Democrats have argued that petty crimes should not be a barrier that prevents participating in civil society. Electing a convicted felon to the highest office in the country would be a monumental accomplishment towards liberalizing the criminal justice system.
It's amazing that Biden, Democrats, and the unbiased liberal press actually convinced themselves that phony show trials to convict Trump would change anything. The gaslighting liberal elite are shocked that they are having to confront reality of their own liberal attitudes. We all know the whole point of the exercise has been to provide an excuse to use government in an autocratic manner. But it seems the country has bought into the liberal notion that criminals really aren't bad people; they're only victims of circumstance.
So, Trump is convicted on trumped up charges. And nothing changes. Biden hasn't been able to lie his way to reelection. Biden hasn't been able to buy his way to reelection. So, when the tools of democracy fail it's obviously time to use the tools of a despotic dictator. Unfortunately, Biden has shown that he has no respect for his own brownshirts. Democrats have threatened civil society and all they got was a second-hand keffiyeh.
Above all else, take joy from the fact that the country has accepted the liberal claim that criminals are not bad people. Democrats have gotten what they wanted and, naturally, they're not happy about it.
I suspect that when Trump is elected and the Republicans control both the House and Senate, that the Democrats are going to pay a very steep price for their treachery and deceit. Revenge is sweet.
And I suspect that regardless of the number of spineless republicans that went from never Trump to all in for Trump he will not be elected POTUS and he will continue to lose in both the courts and politics.
