He was like 14 years old in 2016, correct?

I am not sure the inter workings of the juvenile mind are as important as the lack of security provided by the secret service.

Local LEOs may have dropped the ball, but it is the responsibility of the secret service.

there is no strong evidence the shooter was a leftist. it as just as likely he had the same political bent as his parents.

most likely the shooting had nothing to do with politics

T he father of 20-year-old would-be Donald Trump assassin Thomas Crooks was previously identified by the former president’s campaign as one of the voters in his area most likely to respond favorably to pro-gun messaging.

That’s   according to confidential data obtained by Britain’s Channel 4 News , which said 53-year-old Matthew Crooks—who legally purchased the AR-15 rifle   used by his son to fire at Trump   as he spoke   at a Butler, Pennsylvania, rally on Saturday —was covertly profiled by the Trump team in 2016 as “a strong Republican, likely gun owner and ‘hunter.’”

The campaign’s private database analyzed 6.7 million people in the Keystone State, a crucial battleground in the race for president, listing Matthew Crooks, a registered Libertarian, as among the top 20 prospects of 19,000 residents in the Pittsburgh suburb of Bethel Park, Channel 4 reported. He scored highly “across a range of gun-related [data] models,” according to the outlet, and was flagged by the Trump team as a voter “who could be susceptible to political messages about gun-rights.”

Crooks’ mother, a Democrat, was also singled out by Trump’s campaign as a likely gun owner who was potentially receptive to such messaging.

Overall, the Trump campaign ranked roughly 50 million individuals in 10 swing states, using the firearms-specific data models, according to Channel 4, which called the data-ming program “secretive.”

I accept the data you present

What does it matter what some potential voters were categorized as in 2016?

he grew up in a conservative / libertarian household of gun enthusiasts, and yet we are told, without evidence, that he was a leftist.  Seems dubious to me.

Exactly, Trump was too mild mannered and middle of the road to suit Crooks.

You're trying to tell us, without evidence, that Thomas was some kind of right-wing nut job who hates Trump and the Republicans. In reality, he seems to have contributed to, and was supportive of Democrats.

Can you prove that?...

It seems to me that he grew up in a libertarian/Democrat household.

Funny you should say that. I was once told that libertarians are not liberal

It only matters if you are grasping for straws to make points against the Republicans and Trump

So what?

I was targeted by the Trump campaign in 2016 as a "staunch Republican". When I hadn't voted for a Republican at the Presidential level before (that changed in 2020 when I went straight Republican ticket for the first time).

I was campaigning for Gary Johnson; and that is who I voted for.

The only Establishment Presidential candidate I voted for was Bill Clinton second term. He made me regret that vote. I fell for the "vast right wing conspiracy garbage". Right up until the time he settled out of court for perjuring himself. Then the senate Democrats claimed that perjury wasn't an impeachable offense.

Guess the Gore campaign didn't get the message; because they targeted me the very next election.

You are trying to use a Trump campaign potential database as if it is factual.

Funny how Trump only tells the truth when it suits you.

The point is related to the possibility that the shooter was a "leftist". There isnt a shred of evidence of that at this point.

So how can Biden be responsible?

Meaningless.

My brother ran for state rep once and I donated to his campaign (only time I had done that up to that point) with the understand that my name wouldn’t get put on a list.    Guess what?    Someone took his list and gave it to other candidates.     That was bad enough but what was even worse was the next year I was looking to what that “My Life” app had collected for me and it said I was a member of the Republican Party.     Which I never was, before or after.

So who knows where that info came from but it was bullshit.

You have a much bigger problem than that with the narrative you are leaning on.    If this kid is such a dyed in red Republican, why is he trying to whack the Republican candidate?    All you can muster on that is heavy conjecture.    Nothing more.

Why don’t you give it a rest for five minutes and let the facts come naturally for a change.
