Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) declared on the conservative outlet Real America's Voice that her political approach isn't extreme but reflective of "mainstream America" after President-elect Donald Trump won the White House in an overwhelming electoral victory this week.
Greene, a polarizing figure first elected in 2020, is well-known for her controversial statements and actions, from her endorsement of QAnon conspiracy theories to her infamous claims about California wildfires being sparked by a "Jewish space laser."
While Greene's rhetoric has drawn criticism, her influence within certain Republican circles remains robust. As speculation grows that Greene could be tapped for a role in a potential Trump administration, she's positioning herself as a figure firmly in line with the values of MAGA supporters.
You know, here's one thing I would like to point out. They've attacked me continuously, called me radical, fringe extremists. You know what they found out today? President Trump will have over 5 million of the popular vote ahead of Kamala Harris. He will, by the time this is done, likely have 312 electoral college votes.
The message that was shot across the bow is, guess what? the American people, the voters that voted for Trump overwhelmingly, they are MTG. MTG is not radical or extreme. She's mainstream America. And I am very much looking forward to working in an administration that is on that level. And we have to get it done. We made a lot of big promises on the campaign trail, and now we have to deliver.
