'Never trust them': Ann Coulter rages after MAGA star's apology for conspiracy theory film

Far-right author Ann Coulter raged over the fact that pro-Trump documentary filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza's debunked election fraud project fooled so many on the right after he apologized this week and admitted the information he used was false.
"Please think back to all the people who told you to watch Dinesh's '2000 Mules,' and NEVER TRUST THEM AGAIN," Coulter posted to X.
"2,000 Mules" purported to present evidence for election fraud in the 2020 presidential election. It relied on the voter suppression group True the Vote, which claimed to have geolocation data that proved people were illegally harvesting dozens of ballots and dropping them off at various sites.
But there were numerous flaws with this data, including that it doesn't actually prove anyone was dropping off ballots. Additionally, if they were, it couldn't show they did so unlawfully.
D'Souza, whose publisher was forced to retract some of the claims he made, and who faced a defamation suit from a voter in Georgia he accused of being one of the "mules," now acknowledges this.
"We were assured that the surveillance videos had been linked to geolocation cell phone data, such that each video depicted an individual who had made at least 10 visits to drop boxes. Indeed, it is clear from the interviews within the film itself that True the Vote was correlating the videos to geolocation data," wrote D'Souza. "We recently learned that surveillance videos used in the film may not have actually been correlated with the geolocation data."
Coulter, who in recent years has become disillusioned with the MAGA movement's competence even as she supports most of its agenda, called out "2,000 Mules" as nonsense years earlier, stating in 2022, "Is there anyone in Trump World who isn't trying to fleece the Deplorables? Haven't they suffered enough?"
This garbage was one of the main "points" the stop the steal freaks were trying to use.
I don't like Ann Coulter and certainly don't agree with her politics but she's not stupid
No, and not if the continue to lap it up as if it were mana from MAGA heaven.
