The suspect is a US Army vet born in America carrying an ISIS flag. In general the president (elect) should probably wait until they know what happened before deciding which group to demagogue.

A large number of these illegals have turned out to be killers, rapists, traffickers of women and children, gang bangers, and everyday criminals, yet no one on the left seems to bitch and bellyache about them.

The San Bernadino and Fort Hood mass shooters were also American born citizens, as if that had any bearing on their radical Islam beliefs.

His comment is irrelevant because this killer was an American born citizen. He wasn't illegal. Hell! He was honorably discharged from the Army and did at least one tour in Afghanistan.

Now before someone thinks I'm defending this POS, I just want to make clear he was not an illegal

While I can most definitely agree that waiting until they know what has happened before commenting is a good idea, that hasn't stopped ALL of Washington from spouting partisan talking points when the initial information matches their partisan side. We see it all the time from both sides in Washington and here as well.

The only thing I have is something posted on Elon Musk's Close App site (formerly known as Twitter).  (X is a universal icon for close app.)  I have no idea where the statement attributed to Trump came from, if Trump actually wrote the statement, or the context surrounding the statement.  I have no idea who Tim Miller is.  And we've all been admonished not to get our news from social media.

Barring the rather obvious questions concerning the source, why is the statement attributed to Trump wrong?  Throwing hissy fits of self-righteous outrage over a statement attributed to Trump doesn't make the statement wrong.  Whether Trump actually made the statement or not, this has been happening since the fall of Saigon.  Criminals and terrorists have been infiltrating the United States and breeding here.  The fucking Khmer Rouge was allowed to immigrate to the United States and become citizens.  And, yes, Democrats thought that was a good idea when Bill Clinton needed votes.

Biden is the sitting President.  This happened on Biden's watch.  Biden worked long and hard to make US citizenship a participation award and transform the US military into an indoctrination tool for terrorists.  Biden represents who we have become as a nation.  And guess who wants to deflect from what Joe Biden has done to cover Joe Biden's ass.

Yes, all sorts of things happen on a President's watch.  And this is Joe Biden's watch; meaning Joe Biden bears the burden of responsibility to enforce protections already in place, marshal Federal resources to plan for unspecific but predictable threats, and set the tone of leadership for those engaged in the daily grind of protecting the country and its people.  Thoughts and prayers may sound politically correct, alligator tears may fool the pubic, but, in the end, only the President has the authority to do what needs be done.  And this is still Joe Biden's watch.

Then why is everyone attacking Trump?  If Trump is as impotent as Biden then none of this really matters.  Under those circumstances a statement by the Stay Puff marshmallow man would be just as relevant.

The response is premised upon the idea that Trump can actually do something as POTUS.  Be afraid, be very afraid.  Isn't that why the 'loyal opposition' is roasting their Oscar Meyers over the community campfire?

The alternative narrative is that Biden doesn't have the power to lance a boil on his backside.  So Biden's backside needs to be covered up.  Give up hope, all yea who enter here.

I'm not the one promoting the unrealistic expectation that promises matter more than results.  At present, Biden holds all the power and authority to do something tangible.  That means it's Biden turn to be held accountable for using words to justify his actions.  (That's the original meaning of 'elections have consequences'.)

Trump is not the sitting President, yet.  Trump only has words and no power.  Holding Trump responsible for his words while giving Biden a pass for using or failing to use POTUS power establishes the ridiculous extreme that one POTUS can do anything and the other POTUS is impotent.

IMO fairness dictates that holding Trump responsible for COVID deaths on his watch means that Biden should be held responsible for COVID deaths on his watch.  Fair is fair, after all.

The argument that Trump allowed people to die of COVID sets the standard for holding Biden responsible for allowing people to die of COVID.  The power and authority for both Trump and Biden, as POTUS, was the same.  Trump didn't have more power and authority than Biden or vice versa.  The distinction between the two is how each President used their power and authority as POTUS.

And that differing use of the power and authority of POTUS informs rational people that actions speak louder than words.

You blamed Biden for this murder.  That is absurd.

How is that any more absurd than blaming a statement attributed to Trump on Elon Musk's Close App platform?  Someone named Tim Miller posted the statement.  So, by normal convention, the topic of discussion should be Tim Miller's comment:

"The suspect is a US Army vet born in America carrying an ISIS flag.

In general the president (elect) should probably wait until they know what happened before deciding which group to demagogue."

By normal convention, the statement attributed to Trump (without citation) is not the topic of discussion.  And Tim Miller didn't explain why claiming 'the suspect is a US Army vet born in America carrying an ISIS flag' should shift attention away from immigrants.  Especially since we heard all sorts of demagoguery by Biden, Harris, and their supporters that we are a nation of immigrants.

Claiming that I blamed Biden for this murder is a pants-on-fire falsehood.  I pointed out that Joe Biden is President, the terror attack happened on Joe Biden's watch, so only Joe Biden's response to the terror attack is important.  Ignoring those objectively true facts is a prophylactic effort to cover for Biden potentially screwing up the situation.  It's an effort to shift attention onto Trump because of a cynical expectation for Biden's words and actions.
