Caroline Kennedy, the only living child of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy, read a letter on social media on Tuesday calling her cousin, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President Donald Trump's pick for secretary of Health and Human Services, a predator.

"I have known Bobby my whole life," Caroline Kennedy says in the video. "We grew up together. It's no surprise that he keeps birds of prey as pets because he himself is a predator."

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Caroline Kennedy's son, Jack Schlossberg posted the video on X, formerly Twitter. He said his mother had sent it to a Senate committee, an action first reported by the Washington Post. RFK Jr.'s confirmation hearing is scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m.

In the letter, she praised her cousin for recovering from substance abuse but said before getting sober, he encouraged siblings and cousins to use drugs and they wound up addicted, ill or dead. She said, broadly, that her cousin had gone on to "misrepresent, lie and cheat his way through life."

"Bobby is addicted to attention and power," Caroline Kennedy says in the video. "Bobby preys on the desperation of parents of sick children - vaccinating his own kids, while building a following hypocritically discouraging other parents from vaccinating theirs."

She characterized running the Department of Health and Human Services - which includes overseeing the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health - as "an enormous responsibility, and one that Bobby is unqualified to fill."

"He lacks any relevant government, financial, management or medical experience," Caroline Kennedy said. "His views on vaccines are dangerous and willfully misinformed. The facts alone should be disqualifying, but he has personal qualities related to this job, which, for me, pose even greater concern."

RFK Jr. has acknowledged skeletons in his closet and admitted he is "not a church boy." His children's former babysitter, who is about 20 years his junior, accused him publicly of sexual assault. He apologized to her but said he had no memory of the alleged encounter. The case never went to court.

Seventy-seven Nobel Prize winners penned a letter in December urging the Senate not to confirm his appointment, saying his leadership would "put the public's health in jeopardy."

Just curious. Is there anyone that has attacked Trump or his appointees not have credibility?

He isn't fit to run the DHS. You can tell in interviews that his is failing both mentally and physically. And what kind of moron says vaccines are dangerous but got his own kids vaccinated.

He is not fit to run a taco stand let alone DHS. His record in Samoa with the measles epidemic a few years ago is more than enough reason to send him to the hinterlands.

Almost 6,000 cases, 83 dead and of the 83, 80% were 5 and under.

He is crazy, Trout.

I agree with his stance on pharmaceutical advertising, but other than that he's a nutty crank that can back to prostituting himself on talk shows.

Like Caroline Kennedy or not, she is a credible person.  She is warning the country about a blood relative.

That should be the end of it and result in him being rejected.

Is this the same Caroline Kennedy that ran for Hillay's seat and couldn't explain why she hadn't voted in an election since 1988? and said "you know" like 200+ times in a 40 minute interview? that is the Caroline we are thinking is credible?

Clearly most Trump supporters will dismiss this.   Seems to me most of them cultishly dismiss every criticism of Trump and his minions.   There have been plenty of people raising criticism of Trump and his nominations yet it seems to fall on deaf ears.   How people cannot care about these matters is disappointing.   That people can actually believe Trump is making good moves at every turn is dangerous.

I'm fully expecting that number to drop as his policies really take effect. An aggregate of his popularity polls this week is only 50% and like his last term will hit rock bottom by this time next year. If he's successful government spending will be up, inflation will be up, unemployment will be up, and our allies will turn against us.

I saw a Trump statement last night saying he wants an 'iron dome' around the whole US. Even if it were physically possible (and it's not) it would cost 3 times the entire 2025 defense budget and be a comical waste of resources. But his sycophants will try like hell to kiss the Emperor's ass.

I am not so optimistic evilone.   We have a phenomenon with Trump support that flies in the face of reason.    And one piece of evidence is the Senate's confirmation of Hegseth.   The level of irresponsibility here is staggering and you know it is based upon Senators believing that if they do not support Trump their constituents will be up in arms.

At some point in time I do believe many of those currently in support of Trump will have an epiphany.   Certainly by midterms in 2026.   But in the meantime, one can only hope that sanity will emerge before Trump inflicts too much damage to the nation.

We know from recent history as soon as voters turn on Trump, the politicians will follow. That will take time.

There will damage. I'm hoping the damage is so bad the next 2 generations will remember who caused it. I'm hoping the damage is so bad the people can make enough noise to cause Congress to set in stone rules to prevent it from happening again.
