'Neck of fear': Body language expert breaks down meaning of Trump's facial expression

Donald  Trump  purportedly has "fear" written all over his face, and neck.

Trump, who is currently staring down several criminal indictments as well as a fraud case, recently appeared at an event in Iowa. A snapshot of the former president at that appearance tells the story of 1,000 words, a body language expert said.

Dr. Jack Brown, who previously   analyzed   the GOP debaters and found them presenting "insincerity and chronic deception,"   found   that Trump was "displaying fear" in Iowa.

"The above image was captured on January 6th 2024 in Newton, Iowa – three years to the day after the insurrection," Brown said, noting that it "demonstrates an expression that Trump displays relatively rarely – and in light of his legal troubles, its evaluation is particularly important."

Specifically, Brown is saying that Trump is showing fear, and the expert uses various details about Trump's outward appearance to back that up.

"Note Trump's jaw is extended forward. This is a manifestation of an Adrenaline Surge," according to the analysis.

The specific picture used by Brown lent itself to the facial analysis.

"This jaw jutting is photographically highlighted by the evanescent empty space/temporary cavity behind Trump's jaw and below his ear (tissue stretching forward)," the expert wrote. "The shading from the angle of the light in this moment makes it especially easy to see."

Trump's mouth also betrayed his fear.

"Next look at Trump's mouth – the corners are pulled laterally w/ an additional downward vectoring. Due to the angle of this image, we're unable to evaluate the symmetry of this dynamic, however it appears to be more prominent on his left," Brown wrote. "This is a mouth expression indicative of fear."

Brown also noted Trump's eyes.

"Now observe the direction of Trump's gaze. He's looking down to his right. Although there could very well be an unrelated and valid reason to otherwise look in this direction, it's also the quadrant we tend to look toward during highly emotional moments," he wrote.

Lastly, Brown labeled Trump's neck "a neck of fear."

"Crucially, pay close attention to Trump's neck," the expert wrote. "Although he's not a thin individual (making it more difficult to visualize), we can see his neck muscles (sternocleidomastoids ['ropy' muscles] and his platysma [nearly thin paper-thin muscle just below neck skin] TIGHTEN)."

He concluded: "This dynamic is a 'Neck of Fear.'"

Man, there are alot of "experts" out there.  I wonder how long it takes a "news" organization to find an "expert" to tell them exactly what they want to hear.

So back to my original post.  "News" organizations commonly look for "experts" that will tell them what they want to hear.  Is this idea foreign to you?

I do not care how Trump looks;  this is entirely irrelevant to me.

But I will say that he should be disconcerted and fearful given the level of shit he has brought on himself.

He has pushed things throughout his life and after being elected PotUS, I suspect he felt empowered to push things even more.   Except he pushed well  beyond the envelope and is very likely to suffer the consequences.

Yeah, if he has any ability to grasp reality, he should be quite concerned.

Agreed...

But I will say that he should be disconcerted and fearful given the level of shit he has brought on himself.

Also true. He lies so much he can't even remember what he has lied about. And he lies about things no one cares about, like his height and weight. If he will lie about little things like that, he will lie about anything.

Except he pushed well  beyond the envelope and is very likely to suffer the consequences.

If I am honest, I doubt he will ever go to prison even though he clearly deserves it, but, I do think he will be financially and personally broken.

Yeah, if he has any ability to grasp reality, he should be quite concerned.

Given the amount of BS he spews...I'm not sure what's more sad; that he believes his own BS, or the masses believing his BS. Either way, it's disturbing.

Here you go.    First Google search.     Proof this guy is a biased hack.    One little snippet from the link that he posted.

FACT: Among other things, the politically conservative mind doesn't clearly think in, nor does it fully grasp the concept of metaphors.

A bigger and more obtuse sweeping generalization I have not seen in long while.

A well presented analysis but I’m sure many of you here won’t to even bother to read it before you start hacking it apart.   And if you do read it you’ll discount it because the author likely won’t meet your “standards.”    Which is too bad.    Lots of good info in it.

Proof?  Elwood played poker professionally for three years and wrote three books described as the psychology of the tell, in other words, body language.

He's as biased as Brown but he doesn't have Brown's credentials or clients. Clients | Body Language EQ

Elwood just sounds jealous.

google body language instead.  It's a real thing. Regardless of the charlatans selling it.

That's not what I said at all, quite the opposite, Elwood literally, personally and professionally hates Brown for Brown's successes.

Wait, I get it.

I don't think so.

He's talking about Trump so he must be infallable.

I, on the other hand, was commenting about Elwood and Brown, never mentioned Trump.
