Biden's vacation-length debate prep shows he isn't up for the job
President Joe Biden just isn't up for the job in his advanced age, and taking a week's vacation to prepare for a 90-minute debate is yet another example.

President Joe Biden keeps proving that he just isn't up for the job in his advanced age, and taking a week's vacation to prepare for a 90-minute debate is yet another example.

Biden is heading off to Camp David for a week, but this is not the normal kind of vacation that has consumed nearly 40% of his presidency. Evidently, Biden is disappearing for seven days to prepare for next Thursday's presidential debate, which is only an hour and a half long and, again, seven days away.

This means that either Biden is so unprepared (or unable) to defend his own record that he needs seven days of debate prep away from the presidency to be ready to speak for a total of some 35 minutes on Thursday, or that task is so monumental for him in his current mental state at his age that he needs a vacation just to steady himself for that task.

Either way, it reflects poorly on him, his mental and physical capacity to stand on a stage for 90 minutes, and how seriously he is treating the presidency.

This is similar to what Biden did in the 2020 election cycle, disappearing for multiple days and calling it all debate prep, which should have been the red flag voters and journalists needed to notice that Biden wasn't up for the job. His lack of live press conferences compared to his predecessors, along with how late he is to address important issues during his presidency, have shown that Biden just can't keep up with the demands of being president. A weeklong vacation for a short presidential debate should add to those concerns.

The media line that Biden's 9 days off (and counting!) are for debate prep, means that if he does not have literally the best debate performance in presidential history, it will be a huge embarrassment. Why are they setting up their preferred candidate for failure like this? https://t.co/kiwJkci0nx
— Mollie (@MZHemingway) September 25, 2020

The presidency is simply too demanding for someone of Biden's age and current cognitive abilities. He has been out of his depth since the day he was sworn in, and his condition can only get worse with each passing day. Biden's public appearances (and lack thereof) prove that he should be retired, not left in charge of the safety and security of the United States.

Yet he was in the White House more often than Biden.

Funny how the border, inflation, gas prices, the draining of US oil and gas reserves, overall crime, supply chains, Russia, Ukraine, and Israel/Palestine weren't real issues until Biden took office.

Guess Joe isn't doing any "president'ing" either. Unless you consider running this country into a ditch leadership?

What nonsense.  It does not reflect poorly on him.  He is thoughtful and doesn't spew whatever pops into his head unlike #34.

President Biden is treating the presidency seriously.

When did #34?

I  don't think Trump will be allowed to win the debate.  The CNN crew will not venture into things like economy, border, inflation or many of the other Joe failures without adding their spin to the question.  I see the mic cut button being used with abandon and the CNN crew stuck on Jan 6th and Stormy.

100%.  The questions will be designed to put trump on the defensive and let Biden attack him.

Debates should be more Lincoln Douglas style with no moderators.  They just pass the  microphone to each other every ten minutes.

If it is the weekend—and sometimes even when it isn’t—President Biden is probably in Delaware. Biden has traveled to his home state nearly half of the weekends of his presidency, spending all or part of 254 days there during his first three years in office. And more often than not, he extends his visits beyond the typical weekend enjoyed by most Americans, arriving on Friday and departing on Monday.

It’s a familiar weekly ritual. As of this point in his presidency, Biden has spent more than a quarter of his time working from his home state of Delaware, either at his house in Wilmington or   his Rehoboth Beach property.

Some 21 months into his term,   Biden has made 55 visits to Delaware , totaling some or all of 174 days as of Sunday, according to a CNN analysis of presidential schedules and a tally kept by Mark Knoller, the longtime unofficial statistician of the White House press corps. In addition, Biden has made 19 visits, or all or part of 64 days, to the Camp David presidential retreat in rural Maryland.

He has now surpassed even the  getaway time of former President Donald Trump,   so often criticized by Democrats for his regular departures from the White House to stay at one of his personal homes. At this point in his tenure, Trump had spent about 135 days at either his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, or his home at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Trump also had spent 23 days at Camp David.

The Republican National Committee tracks Biden’s vacation days, and its leaders say his historically high amount of time outside of Washington points to his inability to handle the workload of a president.

“Biden began the new year the same way he began the last one — on vacation,” RNC spokesman Jake Schneider said. “Given Biden’s declining stamina and proclivity for incoherence, the reason for his reclusiveness isn’t exactly a secret. He’s not up for the job.”

Biden spent 142 full or partial days on vacation in 2023, or nearly 40% of the year, according to the RNC. It has tracked Biden spending 424 days away from the White House during his term, far more than Donald Trump’s 381 days over a full term, and Barack Obama’s 328 days over two terms. He is on pace to best George W. Bush, who took heavy criticism for his 1,020 vacation days over two terms.

Fact is Joe spends more time on vacation than Trump. Give him four more years and he will eclipse the record set by G.W. Bush; and push a new mark that will be nearly impossible to beat.

See post 3.1.11

Joe has already broken Trump's vacation time.

As for fucking everything up. Border security; inflation; gas prices; and overall crime rates were far better under Trump. Also Trump wasn't the one that botched the Afghan withdrawal; or emboldened Russian to invade Ukraine. In fact the world was far more stable under Trump.

Joe is a much bigger fuck up than Trump.

Inflation falling, (and our inflation rate is one of the best on the planet), crime rates are down, gas prices are down as well, but presidents have very little to do with the  price of gas.

emboldened Russian to invade Ukraine.

If trump was president, the Ukraine wouldn't even exist right now. Trump has always been putin's puppet. Guess you forgot about Helsinki, or that the trumps met with russian spies to get dirt on Clinton.

As usual, you're post is the exact opposite of the truth. Nice try though.

There was a race riot in Los Angeles yesterday.  Will Biden emerge from hiding to address it or will it mess up the regimen necessary to prepare him to  stand and talkfor 90 minutes?

for a guy who supposedly ran for president because of Charlottesville, he’s remarkably blasé about racist attacks now.
