Shit don't work any day and be a unactive member of the majority of the House of Representatives. Hey donate your tax return to fund more wars like a good Republican! Did George actually kill any Indians.
I agree Columbus Day should be should be eliminated, but it's almost the middle of October and schools have been in session for over a month. How much of a grind do we want to put to put on our educators? Are we to expect them to go all the way to Veterans day before they get a day off?
"Jerry the genocide of American Indians.Columbus started it...."
I figured it might be that, but that was in the 15th Century. Surely you're not suggesting there is still genocide of American Indians in the 21st century.
Discrimination, for sure, but I'm under the impression Native American genocide was pretty much ended by the beginning of the 1900's.
However, I fully agree that we should not becelebratinga holiday for the "discovery" of America under the name of an infamous rogue bastard like Christopher Columbus. The guy was fucking lost for chrissake! He wasn't even on the mainland!
IMO, now that history is beginning to right itself, and people are becoming more aware of the truth about Columbus, October 12th should be changed a national holiday called Native American Day.There are currently 3 states that have such a holiday, California, South Dakota and Tennessee. So why not a national holiday for the people that taught the early European settlers how to survive?
I'm not suggesting that genocide in the killing sense is still going on in the 21st Century, but look at the acts that were done in the 20th Century. Indian Boarding Schools, Tribal Termination act, the loss of 10 tens of thousands of our acres that were deeded to us by the US government. The stealing of Indian children. It's all a form of genocide, without the killing Jerry.
I agree that there should be a national holiday celebrating the Native People. There are many accomplishments that we have done, that have benefited the US.

You're the Native American, not me. If you feel theegregiousactsperpetratedon the American Indians by theUS government and it people is a form of genocide, I'm in no position to argue with you.
Thanks for the information K.
Now, how about that movement for a national Native American Day. I nominate youChiefof the Council.
To piss the administration off, I'm going to work today
I have a large sign on my lawn. Abolish Columbus Day.

Anyway, I have aquestions.
What genocide are you referring to?
ok, two questions.
What has it got to do with Columbus Day?
Jerry the genocide of American Indians. Columbus started it with the ''doctrine of discovery'' of the Catholic Church.
