Did Georgia Mother (Sherry West) Shoot Her Own Baby in the Face for Insurance Money? Daughter says Maybe...

BRUNSWICK, Ga. --As the investigation into the shooting death of a 13-month-old Brunswick toddler continues, some people are beginning toquestion the motherwho's child was shot and killed during a morning walk.

The daughter of Sherry West, Ashley Glassey, said she does not want to falsely accuse anyone but she wants the truth.

Glassey, 21, lives in New Jersey and said her mother lost custody of her when she was 8. She said she has forgiven her mom and has spoken to her every day since Thursday's shooting but said some of her mother's responses have her concerned.

Glassey said she started to have her doubts after receiving a phone call from her mother telling her that her brother, Antonio Santiago, had been killed. She claims the night of the shooting her mother asked, "How soon do you think life insurance policy will send me a check?"

Ring ... ring ... ring ... "Good afternoon, Liberty National Life Insurance, how may I help you?"

"Uhhh, my baby was shot in the face and killed yesterday. When can I get a check?"

Something doesn't sound right about this. I won't be the least bit surprised if it turns out that this is just another case of some white trash murderer letting a random black kid take a fall. I'm not entirely up on this story, but I haven't yet heard anything about ballistics matching up the bullet with the alleged weapon recovered from the pond.

I knew it! I felt bad and didn't want to say anything before but the story with the kids and no witnesses....didn't feel right from the start. I thought I was being too judgmental in thinking that it was the mom and had hoped that for once I was wrong in my thinking that a parent could do such a thing. I would of thrown myself in front of the bullet if someone was threatening violence to anyone I loved.
