Critical Thinkers

A fine example of vindictive action against his perceived enemies.   Trump has abused his newfound power to remove security details from prominent figures.

It was irresponsible, irrational, and unpatriotic to vote for this asshole to be PotUS.

Trump is, as predicted (easily), using the power of the presidency to satisfy his whims rather than take the office as a solemn duty and responsibility to do what is best for the people.

I guess we have to wait until these people are murdered by Trump’s J6 mercenary army to find out if those who voted for this madman give a fuck.  Until then they will just claim it won’t happen, much like JD Vance claimed violent J6 criminals would remain in prison.  After they are killed the official position will be that it was a sad outcome but we just need to move on.  Zero accountability.

As predicted?  Isn't this more like "promised made, promises kept"?  IMO there haven't been many surprises over Trump's orders and actions.

At this stage, the Trump reality likely shocks Democrats into overreactive recriminations.  Trump's cabinet nominations making it through approval will exacerbate Democrats' recriminations.  Trump getting a debt ceiling increase and approved appropriations will only raise the political temperature among Democrats.

IMO during this early phase Democrats have more to fear from their own recriminations than from Trump's threatened retribution.  Trump really is doing what he said he would do.  The voters really are getting what they expected.  That may be shocking to Democrats but that's the way it is.

If Democrats succeed in spreading voter remorse then Democrats could be the recipients of blame for having botched the election with weak candidates.  Right now, Democrats may have created a no-win scenario for themselves in the near term.  Democrats may have to wait for the 100 day report card before they can begin reasserting themselves in a substantive manner.

Contrary to his word (shocker), Trump immediately let every J6 criminal out of prison.  Immediately afterward he revoked protection from officials he dislikes.  Do the math.  I highly doubt everyone who supported this psychopath for President wants to see him enable targeted murders.

Usually attacks on our nation are remembered. "Never forget" was often said of 9/11 and I agree, we should never forget those days that will live in infamy when our nation was attacked either from without or from within. 4/12/1861 and the Confederate attack on Fort Sumter, 12/7/1941 and the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, 9/11/2001 and the terrorist attack on the Pentagon and the twin towers, 01/06/2021 and the domestic terrorist attack and attempted insurrection on our capital.

While no one I know is 'crying' about any of those infamous days, other than perhaps the perpetrators of 1/6 and their defenders about how 'unfair' they feel the investigation and public shaming of them was, those days will be remembered and discussed and debated for as long as American history is discussed and debated.

I have long understood that Trump is motivated to be 'boss' of the U.S.A. Trump is right now in the 'thick' of turning our government into an 'arm' of his self-interest. And so-called, "free people" (where 'they' ever truly free?) are just sitting around talking where/when ACTION TO MATCH THE MOMENT is OVERDUE!

The usual hate Trump piece with the usual ignoring of FACTS.

If only the DOJ hadn't weaponized the law, we could have all stood together, but as Law Professor Jonathan Turley pointed out long ago this was the problem:

JONATHAN TURLEY:   Well, the Department of Justice really made the case for these pardons, and it was hard to do because most of us supported the people responsible for the riot being held accountable, it was a terrible day. But the Justice Department unleashed what one of its top lawyers called a ‘shock and awe’ campaign, and they just scooped up hundreds of people. They often demanded really excessive sentences, in my view. Most of these people were charged with just trespass or unlawful entry. Most of them were not violent. The government tended to oppose bail; they kept a number of them for a very long time in segregation. In some cases, they demanded limitations on what people could say or read or associate after they were released. All of this tended to undermine their case. So, when the president campaigned on this issue, I think a lot of people wanted to see this chapter closed and he certainly did that. I mean, this was broader than most people expected or even asked for.

DOJ's 'excessive' treatment of Jan. 6 rioters 'undermined' the prosecution, Turley says after pardons

Your comment has nothing to do with this article.   Do not come into one of my articles and start making claims of 'hit piece', repeating your tactical false claims of denial of facts (using a Trump technique of knowingly repeating bullshit until people believe it) and then talk about factors that have absolutely nothing to do with the article.

This article is about Trump being a vindictive asshole by removing security detail from several of his political opponents; focusing his orders on specific people rather than making a policy (which is what government is supposed to do).

If you want to explain to us all how removing security detail for select political opponents rather than establishing criteria for removal that would apply to everyone is not Trump being an asshole then go for it.   Otherwise, put your entirely unrelated comments in your own articles.

Show me where I am factually incorrect about Trump selectively removing security detail for some of his political opponents.

Then explain to me why that is not a vindictive asshole move.

So far blatant dishonesty seems to be a preferred tactic of Trump supporters.   Trump cannot be defended with facts and logic (with truth) so instead we get blatant dishonesty ... just as Trump routinely delivers.

My response was spot on.   You now have lied yet again.

Don't be calling people names.

I will call Trump an asshole whenever it is appropriate.   I suspect you will read that factually correct term (and others) often while this asshole is in office because he clearly is NOT going to get any better.

Be a man and accept facts.

What facts, of this topic, are you going to provide?   (Yet again you pen a lie.)

repeating the same lie, no matter how outrageous, eventually does work on gullible people.

For maga it is much worse than that.  If Trump says it, it need not need repeating.  These people willingly and gleefully suspend all sense of reason for this cult leader.  It will all come crashing down by design, taking them down with it, and they will continue to look to him for leadership from a source that is incapable of leading.

Physician, heal thyself.

"Hands up, don't shoot."  "The lab leak is a conspiracy theory" "Police Officers were killed on Jan 6th" "Hunter's laptop is Russian disinformation"  "Joe Biden is as sharp as ever"  "Jim Crow 2.0" "The FBI would never use opposition research paid for by Hillary Clinton to spy on Republicans"  "Trump's EO ends medicaid"  'ICE is raiding Chicago schools"  etc.. I could go on, and on.

... making exaggerated claims.   Another tactic of Trump supporters:  take criticism and exaggerate it to ridiculous levels and then claim that this is what Trump opposition are mostly claiming.   It is yet another disgustingly dishonest tactic to defend Trump.

Faux obtuseness now.

I did not say anything about the number of exaggerations you could list.   I spoke of your using the dishonest tactic of exaggerating claims and pretending that this is what most Trump opponents are claiming.

Has anybody taken stock of something I actually hear flowing in the air and recently contained in the second comment to this article?

A sitting president has an unofficial 'militia' under under his influence and potentially (should he use it) under his direct control.  A 'goon squad.'

 UNSATISFACTORY.

WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE? WHERE IS CONGRESS (so-called, 'representative body of protectors' of every citizens' interest and general welfare)? Where are the former living presidents to highlight and call this out? Where is the Media? Where are the investigations into the potentiality of this?

Wake the "F" up, people. This. . . man. . .is setting himself up as 'ruler' of this country. . .and the masses are 'asleep' - not vigilant and WOKE!

WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?

The American people democratically elected a fascist. So... a majority of Americans want a fascist regime. A fascist regime includes goon squads.

We'll have a Kristallnacht.

Bonfires of books.

America voted for this.

Trump was one man until he became a force;
he was alone until he became many;
he was a few until he became the majority;
he was contained until he became overwhelming;
and still the people slept

Damn all the Sleepers!

Are you 'WOKE' yet?!

Not so sure the concept of political capital applies to Trump.   Those who respect his 'capital' seem largely oblivious to him doing anything wrong.   His 'capital', paradoxically, might even rise (in the minds of his supporters) with every idiotic move he makes.

The rest of us have his capital near 0 (or below) already so he needs to first earn political capital from our perspective before he can lose it.

Yes. One side of the 'brethren' fill completely at 'ease' now that they think and feel "Daddy Is home" and giving the other 'brethren' what they got coming to them . jrSmiley_78_smiley_image.gif
