About a month ago, I discussed setting up my anti-trmp sign in my yard, but was concerned about vandalism or theft. I was told that it wouldn't be trmp supporters who would do something like that but it would more likely be "liberals".

This is just to point out that right wing vandalism does happen even in Arkansas.

CONWAY, Ark.- Conway Police are investigating after a man was captured on surveillance video ripping a pride flag down from a couple's home.

Savannah Colson says the person also stole their 'Black Lives Matter' and 'Biden 2020' signs from their property.

"Everything was gone," said Savannah Colson. "It's just dissapointing honestly."

Colson says it happened around 1 a.m. Saturday and they were in disbelief watching the footage when they woke up.

"He just grabs the flag- kind of takes a jump to get the momentum and rips it completely down," Colson recalled.

She and her wife shared the video on Facebook, hoping someone would recognize the person who did this. Instead, it prompted another stranger to show up on their doorstep and drop off pride flags to replace what they lost.

"It just brought tears to my eyes that somebody would be so thoughtful and take two minutes out of their day to make us feel welcomed and supported," said Colson.

Colson says they hung a new flag on their porch and hope this one is here to stay.

"People have different opinions, they believe different things, I should be able to fly a pride flag on my house if I want to," said Colson.

Colson says the officer she spoke to says if they catch the man in the video, he could face Theft and Criminal Mischief charges.

Arkansas is currently one of three states that does not have a hate crime law in the books. However, lawmakers have drafted a bill they are planning to take up in session next year.

You're right, they probably will but since it goes against their narrative, I don't expect a lot of comments unless it's off topic or deflection

Things like this are deplorable and should not be tolerated by anyone. This is just out and out vandalism that transcends politics. I sincerely hope the perpetrator is caught and prosecuted accordingly.

Tell me about it. My little border community has about 15,000! That includes the people that are farmers and ranchers dispersed out in the valley the town sits in.

In 2016, I had three Hillary signs vandalized every time I installed one in my yard. The Democrat party informed me that there was a rash of Hillary signs stolen, burned, or vandalized throughout the country.

That is the mentality of too many of Trump Supporters. They are angry, violent prone, undereducated bullies that have little respect for the law or other people's property.

now that this incident has been documented with the local police, I recommend -

  1. posting no trespassing signs around property perimeter
  2. install motion activated infrared camera with wifi/smartphone alarm app
  3. unplugged semi auto 12 gauge loaded with #2 buckshot kept at the closest window
  4. maga hat to be left near the corpse

back in '68 I was struggling with a potential low grade in a history class. (my favorite and best school subject) the teacher was a rabid nixonite. he offered to raise the grade 1 level to anyone willing to help him distribute campaign literature for nixon the next saturday morning. I volunteer. the third door I knock on and the old man that answers starts yelling at me, cracks his door, and sicks his beagle on me. it runs out, bites me on the leg, and runs back in the house. the teacher bails out of his car, runs over to me and starts yelling at the old man. the teacher drives me home while swearing me to secrecy. I get straight A's in that class the full year and never did a lick of homework for it. if I remember right, his class was called contemporary american history. he was a nut.

there is a hell of a big difference being bit by a beagle and a pitbull. If it was a pittie you would have been headed to the hospital

50+ years ago I didn't know what a pitbull was. working in the telecom biz for 11 years, it wasn't the last time I was ever attacked by a dog. sadly, it didn't end well for some of the other dogs.

That is just the opposite of my experience. I, too, loved history and got straight "A's". We had a young history teacher who trilled the class because he sat on his desk and lectured to us like a professor at one of the area colleges.

I was the first to finish the test and "Aced" them, so, he had me grade everyone's test, so he wouldn't have to take them home with him to grade.

I couldn't resist inserting the correct answers in the blanks for me fellow friends, then moved on to filling in funny comments in the blank slot on many of the other's students' tests.

After several weeks of making my friends laugh, one student squealed on me. The teacher freaked out, gave me an "F" for the semester. Kicked me out of the class.

I still loved history and humor.

The last time I stood on the front porch with Angel my 70 lb pitty and by Stevens 520/30 trench gun no one has ever come onto my property again.

My wife put up a sign that read if you think the Pittie will tear you a new ass just wait till you meet the crazy old Indian that lives here.

On my neighborhood page a woman wrote that her Biden/Harris sign was vandalized.  She was angry, but also thankful that her RIP RBG sign was left intact.

On my way to work I go by this house that has a lot of signs outside their house (Rainbow Coalition, BLM, Women's Rights).  They had this tree stump on which they put one of those outdoor Yeti face decorations (at Christmas they put a Santa hat on it & called it Krampus).  After the election 4 years ago someone took an axe to that stump and drove a nail through the Hillary sign.  Their whole yard was a mess.

I do not put any stickers on my vehicles in fear of vandals.  I wish I could put them on to show my support, but do not want my vehicle trashed. Sad.

Is this the world we really want to live in?

And no, this is not the world I want to live in

I live in a condo so no place to put up signs.  Years ago I had a metallic Obama bumper sticker on my car which was stolen.

I won't put a Biden/Harris sticker on my car for that reason.

I have seen a lot of Biden/Harris signs around in Ellicott City and Columbia (Howard County) where I live, very good sign.  I have not seen one trumpturd sign anywhere near where I live.

We Yankee's don't build our outhouses with cracks.

We're pretty classy up here - our outhouses are two story.

I lived on my grandfathers mountain ranch back in the early 60's. it would get so cold in the winter the water line from the well would sometimes freeze, making our bathroom useless. we had to use the outhouse. the ranch was in south park colorado. my adult children still refuse to believe any part of the story to this day.

In my small town in SE Arizona (population approx 15,000), there are both Trump and Biden signs in different people's yards. We are fortunate and do not have a problem with signs being taken or torn down. There is still a modicum of respect for people's views and we are able to be polite to each other.
