'Two-bit goon' Trump ignites furious backlash for demanding U.S. Jews act more like Evangelicals
U.S. Jews have to get their act together and appreciate what they have in Israel - Before it is too late!

On a weekend day when Donald Trump didn't have a self-promoting rally in the guise of boosting the election chances of fellow Republicans scheduled, the former president managed to set off a furious firestorm with a social media posting about American Jews.

Early Sunday the former president lashed out at U.S. Jews on Truth Social for not being enough like Evangelical Christians -- and immediately was attacked for what one Jewish group called "unabashed antisemitism."

According to Trump, "No President has done more for Israel than I have. Somewhat surprisingly, however, our wonderful Evangelicals are far more appreciative of this than the people of the Jewish faith, especially those living in the U.S. Those living in Israel, though, are a different story - Highest approval rating in the World, could easily be P.M.! U.S. Jews have to get their act together and appreciate what they have in Israel - Before it is too late!"

That led former Director for European Affairs for the United States National Security Council Alexander Vindman to call Trump -- and his fellow Republicans out --- with Vindman writing, "Trump is executing the fascist playbook to turn his mob on Jews. Too often, media lets statements like this be forgotten. Sometimes it doesn't even break through the news cycle. Most of the time, GOP isn't pinned down to tell people if they agree. It CANNOT happen this time."

The Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) tweeted, "More unabashed antisemitism from GOP leader Donald Trump. His threat to Jewish Americans and his continued use of the antisemitic dual loyalty trope fuels hatred against Jews. We will not be threatened by Donald Trump and Jewish Americans will reject GOP bigotry this November."

Daily Beast columnist David Rothkopf had a harsher take, writing, "Trump, the mob boss, tries to shake down American Jews. 'Love me, or else.' We've been menaced by fascists before, you two-bit goon. We recognize the threat you represent from the darkest pages of our history. That's why we'll never submit to your threats."

Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman suggested, "Trump's outburst actually illustrates why American Jews are relatively liberal. Anyone with a sense of history knows that whatever group is currently in illiberal crosshairs, the Jews are always next in line."

"There's a simple question that must be asked of every GOP elected official right now-whether they agree with Trump that Jews must 'get their act together..before it's too late.' It's a yes or no question. No one should be permitted to waffle out of. The media has a role to play," former U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance tweeted.

Historian Michael Beschloss asked, "Do any Republican Party leaders have any comment at all on Trump's admonition to American Jews?"

Conservative National Review Online editor Phillip Klein joined the fray, tweeting, "So I remember the previous version of Trump's 'Ungrateful Jews' rant and must say the sequel is even worse than the original."

Authoritarianism expert Ruth Ben-Ghiat, added: "Dear Republican Jews, once again: time to leave the cult. This is not new, and Trump has warned you before."

Just measure how much contempt Trumper SILENCE is registering in their absence. Let it flow in you and through you. This is how much they don't care about 'your' issues and concerns when Trump has spoken.

And know this,  Trumpsters will be back to tell us about how we all should stand up to the democratic party leadership and say all manners of negative and nasty words, attitudes, and expressions-when this 'cool's and 'blows over.'

See MAGA for what it is. Don't let them 'eat' our lunch in November! Eat theirs!

Some far right, rich, evangelical who loves the bible based doomsday theory that involves Israel must have greased Trump's palms.

The Evangelicals only want the Jews around for one thing and that is to bring about the Second Coming and Armageddon. Other than that they have no other use for them

Bennie Leonard a Jewish boxer and one of the greatest fighters of all time when asked if being insulted for being a Jew bothered him. His reply was ''Sheesh, I just knock them on their tuchus''.

Doesn't Trump ever get tired of dragging out those old tropes. They are like an anchor tied to that fat ass of his.

So here is how I view it.

He is pissed that American Jews didn't love him after moving the embassy to Jerusalem. What he didn't get is that Jews are a well-educated bunch, and they look at the whole picture and not just the emotional one.

I support the state of Israel, and I am glad that the US finally upheld its promise to move the embassy there and I recognize that it was Trump who did this and I say good on him for doing so, what ever his motives were.

What I don't like is that he thinks he can hold American Jews hostage to him because he did it. It's like giving a gift and expecting something back in return. It just doesn't work that way.

What's even worse, is that he made a threat that Jews need to "get our act together" "before it's too late". What does too late mean? It's a dog whistle for sure. And that is where he went over the line.

Trump just verbalized to Jews' 'faces' what is in his heart. He wants "American" Jews to turn on people-who turn on him. This is transactional wickedness. The "before its too late" could be a warning that he, himself, is 'bout to start tweeting against "American" Jews with a passion.

Okay, so a 'devil' just called Jews in this country all out 'for real' -now, y'all can see why I stand against this man and his cohorts - they are no damn good. One more thing, there are "American Jews" in Trumpism.  The 'devil' is planning to call on them to split off and 'quarrel' against their liberal fellows.

Trump divides Jews.

We have been telling anybody Trump IS no-good for this country for a 'thousand' years! He is no friend of anybody who won't follow or bow down to him!

Well said, Perrie, and I thank Trump for keeping a promise and doing more for Israel than any other POTUS has done, but he's gone "over the line" lots more than about this.

Trump did move the embassy but to say he was done more for Israel than any other Potus isn't accruate, IMO.

If it wasn't for Operation Nickel Grass and Richard Nixon Israel might not exist today.

Interesting, isn't it, that it was the two POTUS' who have had the biggest legal problems (Bill Clinton's episode wasn't at all as serious) who have done the most for Israel.  Of course, we shouldn't forget Harry Truman who had America vote for Partition.

Donald Trump has never done a single thing that did not benefit Donald Trump.  He is indifferent to any benefit that others may glean from anything he does.  This is so plainly obvious that it feels stupid to even state it.

It's still a mess.  Although Trump announced the move and the previous Administration had finished the building the embassy moved into the old Consulate. Later when the buildings next door were finished being renovated, the Consulate merged with the embassy and the Palestinian Affairs Unit.

Because the Embassy does not meet the conditions of the 1995 Jerusalem Embassy Act, ( No residence for the Ambassador) Trump had to issue an EO delaying the embassy move. That EO has been and continues to be ignored.

There is no permanent residence for the US Ambassador who continues to split time between the Jerusalem US Embassy and the Tel Aviv Embassy Branch Office.

Trump is that 'sad sack' that has the gall to say whatever indecency pops through his head; if he thinks he can get away with it in public! That is, you can bet he picked his moment to attack American Jews and attempt to hold them up to a mirror in Israel! Crazy as a mentally-defected fox, for sure!
