THE NEWSTALKERS COOKBOOK

Many of you may have already done this one.  It's simple and easy to make.  You can use boxed ingredients or make from scratch.  Very tasty either way.

Prepare a package of chocolate fudge brownies according to the label on the box.  NOTE:  If you wish the brownies to have a bit more moisture, leave them in the oven for a minute or two less time.

Cut brownies into large squares (if you have a cookie cutter, use your imagination regarding shape; at Christmas, Santa might be a good one).

Place brownie on a dessert plate.  Add a tablespoon (or half a can, whatever works), of pie filling (my favorite is cherry) on top of the brownie.

Add a tablespoon of whipped topping (ice cream is also good).

Enjoy.

I like brownies. I prefer the ones that are more fudgy than those that are more like cake. These sound delicious.

That sounds really tasty. I will try that for my Granddaughter.

I love them, even tho I don't eat a lot of ice cream. I like to use caramel syrup and hot fudge sauce with the requisite amount of whipped cream and maraschino cherries

I like French Vanilla ice cream with a bit of caramel syrup. So I would likely give that a try first for me. My Granddaughter likes hers with chocolate syrup. So that is what I will make for her.

I usually make Ghiardelli brownies from the box (always the fudgy option rather than cakelike) - but then I make homemade fudge frosting (there are lots of good recipes - but I make sure that when it cools, it's actually a fudge consistency). I bake the brownies in a 9x9 pan, but use a frosting recipe designed for a 13" pan - that way the frosting is almost as thick as the brownies! Then I cut them into really small squares because they're so rich.

They are amazing.

I like the fudgy ones too. I am really not into sweets, but, when my sweet tooth demands attention, I want something really sweet, and these sound like they would hit the spot. jrSmiley_79_smiley_image.gif

Have you ever made peanut butter frosting for your brownies? Really good.

I like the fudgy ones the best, too, and I think Ghiardelli makes the best box brownie mix

Just writing this and seeing your responses made me hungry for brownies.  Luckily, we had a couple of donuts downstairs.  I can always tell when Barb is going to make a dessert like this one. If I look in the refrigerator and see a half gallon of insulin instead of milk, I know that it will be a great dessert.

I am a friend to all brownies, one in particular but the addition of a special herb renders them adult only and leaves you wanting more :)

You guys are going to make me fat.

You have to be careful where either you or he leave those tidbits lying around :)

I have lots of brownie stories Trout, problem is I cannot remember them :)
