Protesters built a barrier of snow to potentially block vehicles from leaving a police precinct in Seattle on Saturday night, videos posted on social media suggests.

One clip, posted on Instagram by "standwithseattlepd," appears to show a police vehicle trying to leave the building before reaching the approximately 3-feet-high snow pile and rolling back down a ramp.

A separate clip, posted by "seattleblmflowerfairy," showed officers moving people from the exit and shoveling away the obstruction at the top of a vehicle exit at the site.

In it, one officer tells the group: "You cannot block police from exiting a police vehicle precinct." Pointing to the snow, he adds: "Its blocking; they cannot leave."

Around a dozen people can be seen outside the building when officers take action.

The approximately 15-minute-long video does not show who built the barrier.

Protesters can be heard telling officers they were simply having a snowball fight. One demonstrator can be heard saying the "cops are being aggressive and violating people's rights" as officers begin moving the group from near the exit.

As officers act, a protester said "stop touching her," while another remarked "we're literally not blocking your building." Chants of "peaceful protest" then breakout.

At one point, an individual on crutches crumbles up a small piece of snow up close to an officer's bodycam. The officer does not react.

A small scuffle momentarily occurred when a separate officer pushes the individual's arm as officers make extra space for others to clear the entrance way.

In another exchange a few minutes later, one officer asks a protester if they would like a sticker: "You seem a little angry and sad, usually stickers make people feel better," they told them. The individual responds: "I'm not sad; am I angry? Yes."

A separate video, posted on Instagram by "standwithseattlepd," appear to show a police vehicle trying to mount the exit ramp and through the exit, before rolling back down.

Seattle Police Department has been contacted for comment.

Thousands of Black Lives Matter protesters marched through Seattle, as well as other U.S. cities, last year in support of demands for an end to police violence and to protest institutional racism. Protesters also took control of an area of the city.

Tensions were heightened after some police officers clashed with demonstrators during the demonstrations. A judge later ruled that Seattle Police Department had violated a court order limiting the use of pepper spray and blast balls.

BLM protests followed the killing of George Floyd, an unarmed Black man, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during an arrest in which a police officer kneeled on his neck for more than eight minutes.

Heavy snowfall blanketed the Seattle region on Friday night and Saturday morning, with some areas recording depths of up to a foot.

They won’t think it’s so funny or cute if someone they care about is denied timely help from the police.

If you need help from the police odds are, by the time they get there, it's already too late for them to do anything.

Maybe so, but the odds shrink considerably when there are assholes out there doing stupid things like this.

Why is this even considered a protest?
