CNN is reporting that two sources inside the Secret Service are corroborating   Cassidy Hutchinson’s   recent testimony that Donald Trump demanded to go to the Capitol on January 6 and was irate when his protective detail would not oblige.

In her explosive testimony before the congressional subcommittee investigating the January 6 Capitol riot, Hutchinson alleged Trump demanded to go to the Capitol with supporters he   knew were armed   and   lunged   at   Robert Engel , the Secret Service agent in charge of his protective detail. Trump has   denied   this ever happened.

On Friday, CNN reported that two sources within the Secret Service have confirmed they heard stories about Trump’s behavior on Jan. 6 that are similar to Hutchinson’s allegations.

The agents confirmed Trump “angrily demanded to go to the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, and berated his protective detail when he didn’t get his way,”   according   to CNN reporters   Noah Gray   and   Zachary Cohen . One of the sources allegedly heard directly from the driver of the vehicle. Hutchinson claimed Trump tried taking control of the steering wheel after discovering he was being taken back to the White House after his speech to supporters.

Neither source confirmed there was a physical altercation, but both said stories were going around in the weeks and months following January 6 regarding the incident.

“He had sort of lunged forward — it was unclear from the conversations I had that he actually made physical contact, but he might have. I don’t know,” one source told the outlet. “Nobody said Trump assaulted him; they said he tried to lunge over the seat — for what reason, nobody had any idea.”

That source also said there were numerous stories that circulated among agents about Trump’s “fits of anger,” which included throwing plates. Hutchinson testified she knew of at least one incident where the former president allegedly   threw   a plate of food against the wall in a moment of anger. Trump also denied this happened.

Another source did say Engel denied Trump attacked him or lunged for the steering wheel, but confirmed Hutchinson’s claim that Trump was demanding to be taken to the Capitol.

It was previously   reported   the Secret Service was ready to have agents testify before the committee and deny Hutchinson’s claim about Trump’s   alleged altercation   with Engel.

So more water cooler talk LOL. Probably the same ones that Hutch heard it from ..............well except for the physical thing. Why is it so hard to believe he was mad as hell? How is being pissed off some egregious thing? Oh well..............

Yeah,  we knew a long time ago that he has a temper.  I can completely believe he was angry and demanding to go to the Capital.

But now it's gone from physical assault of one agent and grasping the steering wheel with his other hand, to now sort of lunged forward but don't know if he made physical contact.  Wonder what it will be next week..

What exactly would the difference be if Trump had actually sat in the very far back with his hands folded? How would that affect her firsthand account adt testimony that Trump knew his insurrectionists in wait for the planed riot were armed, and after being fired up by Trump n cump, heading to "Stop the Steal" because 'your country depends upon it' or such ?   How can you believe these witnesses if THEIR testimony does not match EXACT, that of theactual agents in the vehicle. Do you see how trashing the witness because two agents, NOT under oath, stated something ? Let em testify and see where the end result does, or does not lie, in the bed made, that was stated as heard, not first person observed.

What you don't grasp is that I don't readily believe any of it because I wasn't there to see it with my own eyes.

My problem with Hutchinson's testimony is that almost immediately after she said that she was told by Ornato in front of Engle about how Trump  attacked Engle in the car and grabbed the steering wheel, reporting came out that Ornato denied ever telling her that.  So if she is willing to lie about being told that story, in my mind it puts a cloud on everything else she said.  I am not saying she's lying about it all, its just that I have difficulty believing it is all true until there is corroborating testimony to back up her testimony.  At this point it's not there, all we have right now are conflicting stories. Just because she testified under oath doesn't mean she was truthful, taking the oath is not a magic switch to insure only the truth comes out.

Democrats have graduated from the infamous unknowable, uninterviewable, invisible "sources";  to third hand repeating of rumors as being fact.

Next up just flat out lying. It is all they have left.

Amazing (and sickening) watching Trump sycophants flat out lie about testimony.

No, she made it crystal clear that she was told this by Ornato in the presence of Engel who made no attempt to correct the story.    Ornato alleged this to Hutchinson;  Hutchinson recounted what Ornato told her and while doing so made it crystal clear that she knew nothing of this other than what Ornato told her.

CASSIDY HUTCHINSON: When I returned to the White House, I walked upstairs towards the chief of staff's office, and I noticed Mr. Ornato lingering outside of the office. Once we had made eye contact, he quickly waved me to go into his office, which was just across the hall from mine. When I went in, he shut the door, and I noticed Bobby Engel, who was the head of Mr. Trump's security detail, sitting in a chair, just looking somewhat discombobulated and a little lost.

I looked at Tony and he had said, did you f'ing hear what happened in the beast? I said, no, Tony, I — I just got back. What happened? Tony proceeded to tell me that when the president got in the beast, he was under the impression from Mr. Meadows that the off the record movement to the Capitol was still possible and likely to happen, but that Bobby had more information.

So, once the president had gotten into the vehicle with Bobby, he thought that they were going up to the Capitol. And when Bobby had relayed to him we're not, we don't have the assets to do it, it's not secure, we're going back to the West Wing, the president had a very strong, a very angry response to that.

Tony described him as being irate. The president said something to the effect of I'm the f'ing president, take me up to the Capitol now, to which Bobby responded, sir, we have to go back to the West Wing. The president reached up towards the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. Mr. Engel grabbed his arm, said, sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel.

We're going back to the West Wing. We're not going to the Capitol. Mr. Trump then used his free hand to lunge towards Bobby Engel. And Mr. — when Mr. Ornato had recounted this story to me, he had motioned towards his clavicles.

LIZ CHENEY: And was Mr. Engel in the room as Mr. Ornato told you this story?

CASSIDY HUTCHINSON: He was .

LIZ CHENEY: Did Mr. Engel correct or disagree with any part of this story from Mr. Ornato?

CASSIDY HUTCHINSON: Mr. Engel did not correct or disagree with any part of the story.

LIZ CHENEY: Did Mr. Engel or Mr. Ornato ever after that tell you that what Mr. Ornato had just said was untrue?

CASSIDY HUTCHINSON: Neither Mr. Ornato nor Mr. Engel told me ever that it was untrue.

Yet another MSM  headline and seed about such a minor story.

Odd.

Yup, all the direct testimony provided by the hearings thus far is ignored and instead the Trump defenders focus their attention on trying to dishonestly divine a lie out of a minor piece of testimony that was stated clearly by the witness as that which was told to her and that she did not know anything about this except for what was told to her.

Hutchinson testified that this is what she was told;  not that this is what she witnessed.
