Losing a son in Iraq and blackmailing Saudi Arabia
“When the House and Senate gets back, they’re going to have to — there’s going to be some consequences for what they’ve done, with Russia,” Biden told CNN’s Jake Tapper in an interview that aired Tuesday night.

Joe Biden's green energy policies continue to bite him in the ass. Thursday the Biden administration admitted that it had asked he Saudis to delay the OPEC+ vote to cut oil production until the next OPEC meeting...in other words, until after the midterm elections. The Saudis refused. That leaves Biden with rising gas prices going into the election plus the embarrassment of being caught making such a politically driven request. Biden is outraged that the people he called killers wouldn't help him.

Now he is launching a threat:

“When the House and Senate gets back, they’re going to have to — there’s going to be some consequences for what they’ve done, with Russia,” Biden told CNN’s Jake Tapper in an interview that aired Tuesday night. “I’m not going to get into what I’d consider and what I have in mind,” the president added. “But there will be — there will be consequences.”

Is the US under Biden going to drastically change it's relationship with Saudi Arabia?

Democrats appear ready to do just that. Senate Foreign Relations Chair Robert Menendez caled for a freeze on all US cooperation with Saudi Arabia. Are we in the end trading weapons for oil?  Trying to blackmail a foreign leader?  Where is Alexander Vindman?

Cutting off arms sales to Saudi Arabia will only hurt US industry. In the end, if these progressive morons make good on these threats the only thing they will achieve is to hurt the U.S. economy (as if they haven't hurt it enough) and to push whatever remaining allies we have in the Middle East further into the arms of Russia and China.

The Week:

The trial of Igor Danchenko: "FBI supervisory counterintelligence analyst Brian Auten was the first witness in the trial of Igor Danchenko, the Russian national who served as the primary sub-source for Steele's anti-Trump dossier and has been charged with five counts of making false statements to the bureau. Auten testified that he and a group of FBI agents went overseas in early October 2021 to speak with Steele about the dossier. During questioning by Special Counsel John Durham on Tuesday, Auten said that during those meetings the FBI offered Steele $1 million if he could corroborate allegations in the dossier. Auten testified that Steele could not do so.

Auten also said that the FBI had no corroboration of allegations in the dossier but nevertheless took that information and inserted it into the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to surveil former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

"On October 21, 2016 [the date of the Carter Page FISA application], did you have any information to corroborate that information?" Durham asked.

"No," Auten said, confirming that the FBI began receiving Steele’s reports, later known as the dossier, on Sept. 19, 2016, and submitted its first FISA application on Page on Oct. 21, 2016."

Mayorkas big lie: "Documents obtained by the Heritage Foundation following a Freedom of Information Act request are casting fresh doubts on last year’s whipping controversy concerning U.S. Border Patrol agents.

According to the  newly  released emails, Department of Homeland Security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was aware the popular narrative that Border Patrol agents whipped a group of Haitian migrants was false hours before he declared the incident “horrific” during a White House press conference. One of Mayorkas’s staffers sent him an email less than three hours before the press conference relaying the account of photographer Paul Ratje, who took the viral photos and said the salacious account of what happened was false.

“I’ve never seen them whip anyone,” Ratje said in a quote provided to Mayorkas. “He [Border Patrol agent] was swinging it [reins] but it can be misconstrued when you’re looking at the picture.”

Rather than using the information he was provided to correct the narrative, Mayorkas perpetuated the media’s misleading account of the incident by suggesting that something requiring investigation had occurred.

“I want to assure you that we are addressing this with tremendous speed and tremendous force,” Mayorkas said at the time. “The facts will drive the action we take.”

Subpoena for Trump: "The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol voted to issue a subpoena to former President  Donald Trump , seeking to  compel him to provide documents and testimony under oath . The panel voted 9-0 to issue the subpoena.

The former president could comply with the subpoena and testify. He could appear before the committee and assert his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, a step he took recently in a  New York probe of his financial dealings . Mr. Trump could go to court to contest the legitimacy of the subpoena. Or he could refuse to testify, potentially setting up a high-stakes legal standoff.

Legal experts said it was unlikely that Mr. Trump would cooperate, and he issued a statement criticizing the committee."

Core Inflation rate rises: " The core consumer price index, which excludes food and energy, increased 6.6% from a year ago, the highest level since 1982, Labor Department data showed Thursday. From a month earlier, the core CPI climbed 0.6% for a second month."

What have we learned?

We now know, thanks to John Durham, that the FBI was willing to do whatever it took to harm then President Donald Trump. It began with "Crossfire Hurricane," an investigation based on hearsay. The FBI would later offered the author of the Steele Dossier $1 Million to verify his own information. He couldn't do it. Nevertheless the FBI used the unverified dossier, not once, not twice, not three times, but 4 times to obtain FISA warrants to spy on/investigate Carter Page. According to the FISA rules, that we once heard carried great penalties, everything in a warrant application had to be verified. In one case an FBI lawyer even lied on the application. The Justice Department Inspector General ultimately documented 17 significant omissions and inaccuracies in those applications. None of the FBI agents were ever held accountable and maybe none ever will be, but John Durham has put them on trial in the court of public opinion.

Inflation will be with us for a while. For our friends on the left: Inflation, once unleashed, is tough to conquer. The Fed is now raising interest rates and they have a long, long way to go. No more free rides in the stock market and the new mortgage rate is at 6.92%. Biden and the democrats own it all. He spent over $3 Trillion in his first year alone. They can't do anything now about inflation or even gas prices. We may be rid of most of them soon, but how long will it take to pick up the pieces?
