Jan. 6 fearmongering won't help Biden escape his abysmal record | Washington Examiner

Didn't help Clinton in 2016 either.
President Joe Biden is in trouble. By all accounts, voters overwhelmingly disapprove of his leadership, with especially low marks for his handling of the economy and the border. His poll numbers have cratered as he stares down an electoral rematch with his immediate predecessor a mere 10 months from now.
Indeed, if the election were held today, the polls indicate that former President Donald Trump would defeat Biden in a rematch of the 2020 election in one of the most stunning political comebacks of all time.
TRUMP SEEKS TO 'WIN BIG' IN IOWA KILL SHOT
In the face of uncertain and declining reelection hopes, Biden has resorted to painting Trump as an authoritarian fascist who would become the dictator of the United States if given the opportunity to return to the White House.
To drive this point home, Biden is marking the third anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot with the first major speech of his reelection campaign. The backdrop is Valley Forge, where George Washington once encamped the Constitutional Army during the Revolutionary War during a bitterly cold winter that nearly destroyed his army.
At the same time, his campaign released a TV ad that attempts to paint a dire and apocalyptic image of what would happen if Republicans and Trump were to regain control of the White House.
But the president's attempt to paint Trump as the second coming of Mussolini who would send a mob to attack and murder his political opponents and refuse to leave office isn't going to resonate with voters who remember that the Trump years meant low gas prices, higher wages, and an end to foreign wars.

The truth is that Jan. 6, 2021, is not a date that sticks in the heads of swing voters. And despite his best efforts, Biden's attempts to sound dire warnings about the "death of democracy" have instead provided visuals that make him look like the 20th-century dictator. For all of Biden's fearmongering about Dictator Trump, the reality is that two weeks after the chaos of the riot, the former president rode Air Force One to Mar-a-Lago and vacated the White House.
Painting an apocalyptic image for the future of the nation by using a riot from three years ago isn't going to save Biden from having to defend his abysmal record with voters. When the polls close on Nov. 5, 2024, the results will not be a referendum on Jan. 6, 2021, but rather a referendum on sky-high inflation, out-of-control living costs, a catastrophic immigration crisis, and chaos overseas.

And right here you have it..................
His handlers need to get a grip.................
One of Joes (and his handlers) biggest problems is people are not as dumb as they think or hope they are.
Another is the thought that the media would continue hiding Joes ineptitude no matter how bad it got. That is why he seriously looked at them and said something like "You need to report it right".
