Donors are withholding $90 million in funding to the Democrat party unless Joe Biden pulls out of the presidential race.

The money was on hold at the biggest pro-Biden political action committee, Future Forward, sources told the New York Times.

It comes as Axios reported that there was a "donor strike" building, in which key donors were diverting funding into congressional races and away from Mr Biden.

Plans are under way by critics of Mr Biden to push him out of office amid renewed calls for him to step aside after a Nato press conference in which he referred to Kamala Harris as "Vice President Trump" and Volodymyr Zelensky as "President Putin".

Some of Mr Biden's closest allies from his long career, including Barack Obama, are also said to be concerned about him staying in the race. But Mr Biden's team gave a robust defence of the president and appear to be digging in to keep his campaign alive.

Mr Biden is set to give a speech on Friday night (US time) bashing rival Donald Trump in Detroit in the rust-belt state of Michigan, a crucial battleground state that the Democrat must win in November's election.

A defiant Biden insisted in a pivotal appearance at a Nato summit on Thursday that he would run again, and win - despite concerns about his age and health following a disastrous debate performance two weeks ago.

But a series of gaffes have kept Biden's fitness for a second term under the microscope.

Hakeem Jeffries, the top Democrat in the House of Representatives, said he had met with Mr Biden on Thursday, as the number of members calling on the president to step aside rose to 20.
Mr Jeffries said he "expressed the full breadth of insight, heartfelt perspectives and conclusions about the path forward" to and Mr Biden but did not give further details.

This may even garner just a little attention from Democrats.

Can't have that cash flow drying up and all, don't ya know!

Now, will Biden end his campaign?

He says no, and since Joe Biden NEVER lies (or so the story goes) that means he is in until the bitter end.

Enjoy, America, enjoy!

Should be fun watching Democrats trying to toe that fine line between political preservation and throwing their leader to the wolves and unceremoniously dumping him.

And I bet all of this is so reassuring to our allies around the globe, too, just as an added bonus!

You'd most likely lose your money.

Biden's "woes" are all self-induced.

Smart leaders in the world would do well to question Biden's mental faculties much like the majority of Americans are doing currently.

Who wants a total idiot running NATO and being the leader of the free world?

Rhetorical, of course, as I already know who.

Gee, that is CERTAINLY an odd response to "Biden isn't fit".

Do you think it wise to constantly, inevitably compare Trump to Biden after doing nothing but complaining how bad Trump is? Is your sole standard reduced to nothing more than "Not as Bad as Trump"???

Trumps recent speeches are insane.

And you think that makes Biden less senile and more together?

Wow. Another deflection, as always when one can't actually defend Biden on his own merits.

Well, mainly by the majority voting who the two major parties tell them who to vote for, even when the choices are so shitty.

To have one that is obviously mentally unwell and the other you could choke..what a bloody mess..

And therein lies the biggest problem, IMO.

Some people will vote for the lesser of two evils and be happy about it. never realizing they are merely contributing to the problem and encouraging the two parties to keep supplying whoever the party wants instead of good candidates.

I would vote informal as neither warrant being in the White House..

I will proudly not be voting for either!

That suggests that you do not appreciate the dangers that European leaders especially perceive with Trump as PotUS.

I am sure Putin would be happy with Trump.   But I think our allies are (justifiably) concerned that the USA would enable a vindictive, loose-cannon scoundrel to the powers of the presidency ... especially after the office has been granted a new level of immunity from criminal prosecution.

Well, it would be one hell of a stretch to assume that. Why, I might say your post suggests you don't think that Joe Biden's mental acuity is anything at all to worry about despite what most others see easily.

I am sure Putin would be happy with Trump.

I don't know Putin like that so I'll take your word about it, but who in hell was talking about Putin?

Do you pay any attention to what Trump has been saying?   Do you think, for example, that member organizations of NATO will be comfortable if Trump is reelected?

BS.

Here is the quote you are abusing.

Ahead of the fourth GOP debate that former President Trump is skipping, he addressed his response when asked about abuse of power, saying he would not be a dictator “other than day one.” Trump explained he wants to close the border and expand oil drilling. NBC News’ Garrett Haake reports.

Speaking of real dictators.

Did President Joe Biden sign more executive orders in his first week than any past president did in that same time period?

ANSWER:

Yes. The Verify team looked through a pair of databases that track presidential executive orders. They showed that President Biden issued 22 executive orders in his first week, along with many presidential proclamations and memorandums.

The Supreme Court’s conservative majority in June ruled that President Joe Biden   didn’t have the authority   to cancel student debt for millions of Americans.

He’s still trying.

In what one legal scholar described as “ a very direct confrontation with the Court ,” Biden held a press briefing from the White House just hours after the justices issued their verdict.

“Today’s decision has closed one path,” the president   said . “Now we’re going to pursue another.”

That alternative plan, which has become known as   Biden’s Plan B , could forgive student debt for as many as 10 million people, according to   one estimate . The president may try to deliver that relief before November.

As   Biden   prepares for the 2024 presidential election and tries to turn around   his recent struggles with young voters , his administration has explored all of its existing authority to leave people with less student debt.

The CDC’s justification for its eviction moratorium, which it   first issued   last September, was troubling from the beginning, relying on an   alarmingly broad   reading of the Public Health Service Act. According to the CDC, Congress gave it   limitless power   to order Americans around, as long as the avowed goal is preventing the spread of a communicable disease.

While a few federal courts sided with the CDC, two-thirds of the decisions   said   the agency did not have the authority it claimed. When one of those cases made its way to the Supreme Court in June,   it was clear   at least five justices agreed with that conclusion.

The Supreme Court declined to lift a stay on a federal judge’s ruling against the CDC. But Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who provided the crucial fifth vote,   said   he agreed that the agency “exceeded its existing statutory authority by issuing a nationwide eviction moratorium.”

Because the moratorium was scheduled to expire at the end of July, Kavanaugh was willing to let it slide. But he warned that “clear and specific congressional authorization (via new legislation) would be necessary for the CDC to extend the moratorium past July 31.”

The Biden administration clearly understood the import of Kavanaugh’s concurrence. “The Supreme Court declared on June 29th that the CDC could not grant such an extension without ‘clear and specific congressional authorization,’” Psaki   said   on Aug. 2. Sperling   echoed   that point.

Biden himself   conceded   that “the bulk of the constitutional scholarship” says the moratorium is “not likely to pass constitutional muster.” But he hoped that the ensuing litigation would drag on long enough to allow distribution of congressionally approved rental assistance before the eviction moratorium was overturned.

While it is tempting to blame the CDC, which was responsible for the initial power grab and its subsequent extensions, the decision to defy the Supreme Court was Biden’s.   The New York Times   reports   that Biden caved to pressure from his party’s left wing, overriding the advice of the CDC and “his own lawyers.”

Those advisers, according to the   Times , “saw an extension as a dangerous step that could limit executive authority during health crises.” In other words, they wanted to avoid a Supreme Court decision definitively rejecting the sweeping powers the administration had asserted, because Biden might want to use them in the future.

Biden is putting the "dic" in dictator. But leftists don't give a damn.
