CNN's Jim Acosta pressed the communications director for Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign over her lack of media interviews and press conferences since ascending to the top of the Democratic Party ticket.

Donald Trump and others have used Harris's lack of media hits as a line of attack, which Acosta noted before asking Harris staffer Michael Tyler on Wednesday, "Would it kill you guys to have a press conference?"

"I'm sure this is not going to be the first time you've heard this question, but the Trump campaign is also going after the vice president for not doing enough interviews, for not holding a press conference — would it kill you guys to have a press conference? Why hasn't she had a press conference?" Acosta asked.

Tyler said Harris and her running mate Tim Walz are busy "criss-crossing" throughout the country campaigning.

"She's the vice president, she can handle the questions, why not do it?" Acosta eventually asked.

Tyler echoed Harris's commitment to do a sit-down interview before the end of the month.

"We absolutely are going to do it. You hear her take questions as she's out on the stump, and as she said last week, we're going to be having a sit-down interview here before the end of the month," he said.

"Can you commit to a press conference this week?" Acosta asked, his question going ignored as Tyler continued touting the campaign.

The CNN host eventually pushed further, asking if Harris would commit to one press conference in August. Tyler did not make the commitment, but generally promised more media hits in the coming weeks.

"We will commit to directly engage with the voters," he said. "They're actually going to decide this election, and that is going to be complete with rallies, with sit-down interviews, with press conferences, with all the digital assets at our disposal. We are running a campaign that is built to communicate with the voters that are actually going to decide the pathway to 270 electoral votes."

e said last week, we're going to be having a sit-down interview here before the end of the month," he said.

She covered up the imbecility of her boss for years, helped destroy his candidacy, and was nominated for the Presidency without winning a single vote, all without talking to a press corp that is pulling out all stops for.  She then offers a table scraps of a single interview within weeks and gets barely a "please talk to us, pretty please" in response from said press.

Strange times we live in.
