Poll: Trump's approval rating hits highest point of presidency
On Friday, the Labor Department announced that the economy added 263,000 jobs and hourly wages grew by two-tenths of a percent in April. The unemployment rate — 3.6 percent — is at its lowest level since December 1969, before the births of nine of the Democrats running for his job. The Dow Jones Industrial Average index of top stocks has been hovering near its record high in recent days, gross domestic product rose by 3.2 percent in the first quarter, and while some Democratic candidates are...

President Trump 's approval rating has surged to the highest level of his presidency,   according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll

The survey, which was released Sunday, found that 47 percent of registered voters approve of the job Trump is doing in the White House, a figure that represents a 5-point increase from April. Fifty percent of registered voters disapprove of Trump's performance as president, however

Meanwhile, 44 percent of voting-age Americans said they approve of Trump's job performance, while 53 percent said they disapprove of it. Just 39 percent of voting-age Americans said they approved of Trump's job performance in April.

The survey's release comes as the 2020 Democratic primary race begins to heat up, as candidates such as Sen.   Kamala Harris   (D-Calif.) and Sen.   Elizabeth Warren   (D-Mass.) gain ground on former Vice President   Joe Biden   in the polls.

The economy served as the only issue where a majority said they approve of Trump's performance, according to the poll. Fifty-one percent of respondents said they approved of the way he has handled economic issues since entering the White House. Forty-two percent said they disapprove of his handling of the economy.

Meanwhile, a majority of respondents said they disapprove of how Trump has handled immigration, health care, issues of special concern to women, abortion, climate change, gun violence and foreign policy. Forty-nine percent said they disapprove of the way he's handled taxes, while 42 percent said they approve.

In addition, 65 percent of respondents said Trump has acted in an "unpresidential" way since taking office. Twenty-eight percent said he has acted in a "fitting and proper" way.

The Washington-Post ABC News poll was conducted between June 28 and July 1 among a national population of 1,008 adults. The margin of error for the full sample is 3.5 percentage points. The margin of error is 4 percentage points for the sample of 875 registered voters.

As someone here said recently, It's important that the liberal media keep putting him in a negative light to hold his approval numbers down.

They have been at it for 3 years. Can they beat him?

Enough folks didn’t fall for it in 2016, hopefully they and more are smart enough to not fall for it again in 2020.

If he could just keep his piehole shut a little more and ease off Twitter a bit, he’d be shoe-in imo.

I haven’t forgotten the 2016 election.    Hell, they had me convinced he couldn’t win.   And I know I wasn’t the only one.

He's at about the same approval rating as Obama was at this same point of his first term. Good news for Trump.

Cherry picking polls again? Since more data means more accuracy, why not use one that averages ALL the polls, including Rasmussen?

Rasmussen has always leaned pretty far to the right. So much so they stick out like a sore thumb.

Now you like polls.  lol.

I hope the poll is not true, because any popularity approval of Trump says something horrible about America.

Can Americans really approve of a pathological liar, con man, crook, misogynist and ignoramus?   How low can America go?

The issue has never really been trump. It has always been the people that support him in the face of the mountains of evidence that he is not worthy.  If we are not careful things will get real ugly.

After the 2016 election I no longer give polls very much weight.   All this shows is that the country is divided and will continue to be divided.  We are in the midst of this generation's civil war.

Agreed, i’ve Been saying that long before 2016.    In some ways we are more divided than in the 1800’s.

If it comes to it, which I sincerely hope it doesn’t, it’s going to get real sporty in this country.

The problem is that in all elections polls matter, but there is one where polls are pointless. The presidential election, because popularity doesn't elect presidents, the electorate does.

In state races, congress, etc...yea, polls matter because they are elected by popularity. The presidential election is the ONE election where popularity means...dick.
