Liberal Protesters Disrupt Opening Prayer, Pledge of Allegiance at Republican Town Hall
Liberal protesters yelled throughout the opening prayer and Pledge of Allegiance on Wednesday during Sen. Bill Cassidy's (R., La.) town hall meeting in Metairie, La.
Cassidy scheduled the town hall to discuss various issues including immigration, health care, and the economy. However, many people in the crowd would not listen to Cassidy, and instead heckled him and yelled out slogans commonly heard at anti-Republican rallies.
Before Cassidy addressed the crowd and took questions, Louisiana State chaplain Dr. Michael Sprague announced that he would begin the prayer. As soon as he said “prayer” the crowd erupted.
Several people could be heard yelling, “Prayer? Prayer?” while other people yelled, “Separation of church and state.”
Another person added, “Pray on your own time. This is our time.”
The yelling softened as the prayer went on, but erupted again when Sprague concluded, “We pray in Jesus' name.”
Several people began yelling about the separation of church and state again.
The people shouting about separation of church and state were not incorrect when they asserted the chaplain was infringing on their religious rights. The 2014 Supreme Court case, Town of Greece v. Galloway, protects the opening prayer at legislative sessions.
The crowd did not let up with the heckling following the opening prayer, and continued to yell as a local veteran took the microphone to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
Dozens of people did not stand for the Pledge. Instead, many of them sat down and continued to yell at Cassidy.
One man yelled, “Do your job.” Another woman yelled, “Get on with it.” And another man near the front of the room yelled, “Your words run hollow. A group of mostly pro-life college students came together in Detroit last weekend to stand up for the most vulnerable among us. They were praying to end abortion when a group of loud, vile protesters approached them and and start screaming, “My body is true, don’t like it, f*ck you!” in their faces. While protesters screamed at them, the pro-lifers remained calm and peaceful, while praying and doing their best to ignore them. The more they prayed the rosary, the louder the vile protesters screamed at them, “Not my ovaries, screw your rosary.” These pro-abortion advocates are doing exactly what Democrats are encouraging and even paying them to do. Party leaders like our former President Barack Obama and now Hillary are becoming more and more engaged and vocal in their support of these nasty people. Hillary just released a video of herself telling Democrats to,“Keep fighting!” against Trump and the opposition.
Democrats are bullying innocent people simply because they have an opposing view. They’re attempting to shut down free speech and freedom of religion by threatening people who don’t agree with them. Is this really how they plan to save their party? Is this how they prove they’re the party of “tolerance” or “compassion” and “love?” Is this the future of the Democrat party?:

We all know that these people are being paid, but are they really doing the Democrat Party any favors by behaving in such a vile and disrespectful way during an opening prayer?
This lack of respect for everyone they disagree with on the part of the left is just pathetic. They show their true nature booing God and country.
They’re seeking to make it appear that constituents are not supportive of the GOP, repeal of Obamacare and other change.
Hillary Clinton in fact yesterday called for more ‘resistance with persistence” including at town halls.
They’re not even pretending any more that they’re not behind these actions.
But this crazy at a town hall in Louisiana went beyond the pale, even by Democratic standards.

Chaplins of all religious persuasions have opened government meetings forever, including in Congress.
That fact didn’t stop these liberals. They shouted “separation of church and state” during the prayer. One even cried out “Lucifer” when the chaplain referred to God. They were especially disturbed when the chaplin closed, “in Jesus’ name” at the end of the prayer.
The protesters also booed and heckled during the Pledge of Allegiance. A women in hijab can be seen holding an upside down American flag.
They didn’t want responses, they didn’t care about answers.
The whole point was simply to be disruptive and get it on camera."
