Louisiana, 21 others have Alabama's back re: babies
The Alabama law barring dismemberment abortion prompted a lawsuit in federal court, and the district court issued an injunction against enforcement of the law. A coalition of 22 states led by Louisiana have joined in a brief arguing in favor of the Alabama law. Louisiana Solicitor General Liz Murrill, on behalf of Attorney General Jeff Landry, authored the brief.

"Look at the briefs the challengers file in these cases," Murrill tells OneNewsNow. "They've minimized the nature of this procedure. They use euphemistic language that kind of avoids confronting what the nature of the procedure really is."

A dismemberment abortion literally tears the preborn child limb from limb, inflicting terrible pain while the baby bleeds to death before its body is extracted from the mother.

pregnant woman handMurrill says states "have an interest in protecting and fostering respect for human life, including unborn life, and they have the power to regulate the medical profession on matters of medical judgment and ethics. We think that's very clear from the U.S. Supreme Court's precedent."

The case is now before the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Six other states that have dismemberment bans are paying close attention to the case – i.e., Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and West Virginia. https://www.onenewsnow.com/pro-life/2017/03/24/louisiana-21-others-have-alabamas-back-re-babies
