Bible in lap (black-and-white)A spokesman for a creation science organization believes his group's website was included on a list of "fake news" websites simply because their researchers believe the Bible.

Scientist Brian Thomas with the Institute for Creation Research was surprised to see ICR.org on a recently published list of supposed "false, misleading, clickbait-y, and/or satirical 'news' sources."

What's the motive behind left-wing accusations of 'fake news' in the media? (Choose all that apply)
Desperate reaction to Election Day
To malign conservative outlets
To hide their own history of 'fake news'
To prop up CNN, NYT, etc.
To destroy 'new media' on the Internet
Just another form of left-wing censorship

The list was generated by Dr. Melissa Zimdars, an assistant professor of communication and media at Merrimack College, ostensibly as "a tool for teaching ... students about journalism/social media/media literacy."

Thomas points out that ICR.org was on the list for an "unknown" reason, but that other websites on the list were indeed misleading and satire news – not to be taken seriously. So he inquired as to why ICR was on the list since it does "serious science, not fake news."

In response, Zimdars determined ICR.org should stay on the list and changed its status from "unknown" to "junk science."

Thomas argues the professor made that determination because she doesn't have actual science to refute their science.

Thomas
"In other words, they don't have results that show that our conclusions are wrong in any particular study," he tells OneNewsNow. "So to get around that, it's easier for them to simply label us as purveyors of junk science then to actually investigate the science that we actually do."

According to Thomas, the investigation ended once it was discovered that ICR's scientists believe the Bible.

"And that was enough for them to say, Oh, this is rubbish," he suggests, "because they already come with a bias; and their bias is there's no such thing as the Bible being the Word of God, there's no such thing as miracles."

Writing about the "false news" list, Thomas challenges readers of ICR.org to search for legitimate junk – all the while having confidence in the organization's "long trend of good science" that's based on experimental results and reliable eyewitnesses. https://www.onenewsnow.com/culture/2017/04/18/when-you-cant-refute-it-just-ridicule-it

People and organizations get blacklisted by the orthodox all the time.

Orthodox science groups blacklist non-orthodox scientists.

The church blacklisted Galileo because his science didn't fit church orthodoxy.

It works both ways. This is nothing new.
