NY Times and reporters attacked for "eliminating trans people"
Not a Parody, incredibly

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

What an interesting development in the TERF wars.

It’s also hugely illustrative of how fluid the definition of “journalism” has become. From expecting a Merriam-Websterish, disinterested unbiased investigation and recitation of   FACTS , journalism and reporting have transmogrified into a Bill Clintonesque state of being – it depends on what   your   definition of “journalism/reporting” is. Or what purposes you want it and those who provide it to serve. When those expectations of results or viewpoint slants aren’t met consistently, or, God forbid, old-fashioned reporting occurs, the howling begins.

The Gray Lady and her staff is finding that out right now – oh, boy, and are they ever.

The brouhaha erupted publicly yesterday, during what’s known as “The State of the Times.” It’s an annual all-day love fest the Times publisher puts on for the folks who work there and supporters etc. They recap the year’s accomplishments, and challenges, pat themselves on the back and bemoan whatever. In publisher A.G. Sulzberger’s remarks was a strange little note concerning one of this year’s “challenges” faced by their staff. It seems someone had had a rather nasty encounter in public, but the   why   was what caught everyone’s attention.

Let me get this straight – someone thinks the NY Times “ ATTEMPTS TO ELIMINATE TRANS PEOPLE .”

This is not a NYT I am familiar with.

Turns out I am woefully behind the times (* snicker *) – there is an upwelling surge of royally pissed-off trans-activists and their toadies who are firmly convinced the Times are literally promoting the extermination of the transgender community. They are big time on the offensive, literally and figuratively.

What has turned the worm?

It seems the Times has done some   real   reporting (real   old fashioned   reporting at that) on the current child mutilation fad, and it has noses out of joint. Rabid trans activists are accusing the factual reporting on child gender reassignments of causing “trans panic,” while portraying it as a bigoted effort to destroy the trans community. Complete with all their usual over-the-top melodrama, of course.

A “ crackdown on trans life ” seems an odd way to characterize exposing the barbaric practices of the child mutilation industry, but that’s who they are (Professional victims, you know – we’re all responsible for their suffering and lack of happiness.).

At Xtra Magazine – “Queering the conversation since 1984” – they wondered how the NYT could have gone so far astray.

“Someone has made the decision for the paper of record to publish non-stop anti-trans propaganda, and to do so at a moment when trans people are being particularly attacked in state legislatures,” writes   @ByJudeDoyle . https://t.co/PBPAPQbsTi

[ cue :   sad trombone ]

I am sure reporters at the Times are wondering what hit them for doing journalism and this is not at all a bad thing. Had they been doing it all along 1) this wouldn’t have been a shock 2) probably wouldn’t have happened to begin with

The Twitter swarm of activists, including people like 538 writer Ty Schalter, is frantically trying to knock down any rational defense of the rational reporting. The weapon of choice seems to be tired “BIGOT!!!” slurs, lazy “YOU do the research!” (to prove his claims – I always love that one), and little else.

2/ It is genuinely bizarre. In the case of journalists, they are making these really intense accusations against other journalists and they get super pissed when you ask them for specific examples.   pic.twitter.com/5X1jxO6TG8

It’s so nice when the lunacy is iced with a pretty vicious fact attack in response. Denial just ain’t a river in Egypt.

Except in the Reuters piece last yr where the former USPATH admitted it, & reporters that went to 18 gender clinics across the US found most give out prescriptions after 1 visit as opposed to assessments in Europe that took 6+ months, some 18 months.   https://t.co/BgmBcElYnl   pic.twitter.com/qz9i3CGKC1

And they keep spinning their wheels.

The big name Willis guy can’t produce   one single “bigoted” example   for all his name-calling bluster. What a fraud!

The Times must have   really   done   one helluva a job   to get the Matt Walsh treatment from every drug-induced-castration/surgical mutilation apologist on the planet.

I simply couldn’t stand the caterwauling anymore and had to find one of the pieces. Appalling. They read like “reporting.”

See how offensive   you   find this sample:

Doctors Debate Whether Trans Teens Need Therapy Before Hormones
Clinicians are divided over new guidelines that say teens should undergo mental health screenings before receiving hormones or gender surgeries.

An upsurge in teenagers requesting hormones or surgeries to better align their bodies with their gender identities has ignited a debate among doctors over when to provide these treatments.

An international group of experts focused on transgender health last month released a draft of new guidelines, the gold standard of the field that informs what insurers will reimburse for care.

…But the guidelines take a more cautious stance on teens. A new chapter dedicated to adolescents says that they must undergo mental health assessments and must have questioned their gender identity for “several years” before receiving drugs or surgeries.

Experts in transgender health are divided on these adolescent recommendations, reflecting a fraught debate over how to weigh conflicting risks for young people, who typically can’t give full legal consent until they are 18 and who may be in emotional distress or more vulnerable to peer influence than adults are.

Some of the drug regimens bring long-term risks, such as irreversible fertility loss. And in some cases, thought to be quite rare, transgender people later “detransition” to the gender they were assigned at birth. Given these risks, as well as the increasing number of adolescents seeking these treatments, some clinicians say that teens need more psychological assessment than adults do.

“They absolutely have to be treated differently,” said Laura Edwards-Leeper, a child clinical psychologist in Beaverton, Ore., who works with transgender adolescents.

I know for a fact   this article   is one trans activists lost their minds over. I mean,   HOW DARE THEY ?

When Students Change Gender Identity, and Parents Don’t Know
Educators are facing wrenching new tensions over whether they should tell parents when students socially transition at school.

Jessica Bradshaw found out that her 15-year-old identified as transgender at school after she glimpsed a homework assignment with an unfamiliar name scrawled at the top.

When she asked about the name, the teenager acknowledged that, at his request, teachers and administrators at his high school in Southern California had for six months been letting him use the boy’s bathroom and calling him by male pronouns.

Mrs. Bradshaw was confused: Didn’t the school need her permission, or at least need to tell her?

It did not, a counselor later explained, because the student did not want his parents to know. District and state policies instructed the school to respect his wishes.

“There was never any word from anyone to let us know that on paper, and in the classroom, our daughter was our son,” Mrs. Bradshaw said.

Pretty bigoted stuff right there. The crackdown on trans lives is real.   TERF TERF TERF!!

YGTBFKM

It just shows how morally bankrupt the entire “community” is that they cannot withstand the slightest discussion of factual adverse consequences even when children’s –   CHILDREN   – lives are at risk.

That parents of these minors have no rights before the “community.”

Don’t give them an inch. Not one.
