The Resistance - the first 100 days.
“These are not normal times in our nation,” Booker said as he began the speech Monday evening. “And they should not be treated as such in the United States Senate. The threats to the American people and American democracy are grave and urgent, and we all must do more to stand against them.”

Yesterday I examined Trump's first 100 days in office. It is only fair to take a look back at those who sought to resist Trump and the will of the American people in those first hundred days. The resistance comprised three aligned groups: pollsters, the media and the democrat party all of which were influenced by the American left. There is one great fear that bonded all three together: that President Trump would be successful.

The polls have Trump underwater in approval ratings, which is at odds with a recent Rasmussen Poll and one from democrat Mark Penn.  The most serious for Trump was a New York Times Poll which had Trump losing considerable support, only 37% of those polled actually voted for Trump, yet Trump won the popular vote. So, are the pollsters really trying to influence public opinion or actually reporting on it?

The lies about Trump have multiplied since Inauguration Day. John Powell falsely claimed that Colin Powell had been removed from a list of notable Americans buried at Arlington National Cemetary. Eric Swalwell claimed that more planes had crashed under Trump than under any other president. JB Pritzker falsely claimed that ICE conducted a raid at an elementary school. Numerous democrats have falsely claimed that DOGE planned to cut Social Security. Peter Alexander claimed that GOP voters were unhappy with DOGE, but the protestors turned out to be leftist operatives. NPR claimed that astronauts on the ISS for more than 9 months were "not stranded." NPR falsely claimed that the Trump WH began searching for a new Defense Secretary. The leftwing media kept calling Kilmar Abrego Garcia a "Maryland Father." Just a few lies among many.

After being in a state of shock after the election democrats had to come to terms with the hiding of Joe Biden's dementia. Those in the media who helped protect him, began writing books about the hoax that he was just fine. Cory Booker went on a 25-hour rant without a word about what democrats stood for. It was all anti-Trump hyperbole. Sit-ins and rallies by democrats have failed to spark national opposition to Trump's policies. A day ago, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer planned an all-night marathon event to protest Trump's first hundred days, except it faded away at midnight. Schumer's approval rating is now at 17%. Last but not least, one of the creepiest representatives that democrats ever elected to congress: Rep. Shri Thanedar wrote up 7 articles of impeachment against President Trump, just in case the democrats can overcome their terrible favorability ratings and win back the House.

I have to give the opposition to Trump an F rating. In the words of Chuck Schumer "F for failure."

In the news:

On the 100th day of Trump's second term, Zelensky agrees to a rare mineral deal.

Israel launched airstrikes on Syria and threatened to strike government forces there if clashes persist between pro-government fighters and the country's Druse minority.

Hunter Biden has abruptly dropped his lawsuit vs the IRS.

The Senate rejected an effort to undue Trump's tariffs.

“I don’t regret voting for him”: The New York Times asked seven Americans for their thoughts on Trump’s second term.

Nigel Farage is bringing MAGA style rallies to Britian.

Google’s chief executive told a federal judge that a government proposal to break up the company would harm innovation.

Good morning and welcome to the news.

May yesterday be just the beginning of many good news stories:

u-s-treasury-secretary-scott-103631914.jpg?w=1024

The Trump administration and the Ukrainian government finalized a deal Wednesday creating a joint fund to boost the reconstruction of the war-torn nation, calling for investment in Kyiv’s oil, gas and rare mineral industries.

Ukraine’s Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko posted on X that the  fund would be managed 50/50  and that future military aid from Washington could be considered a contribution.

“Together with the United States, we will create a fund that will attract Western investments to our country,” Svyrydenko said. “We will manage this fund jointly with the United States. Neither party will have a majority vote, reflecting an equal partnership between Ukraine and the United States.”

US, Ukraine sign long-awaited mineral deal two months after Trump, Zelensky White House fight

They are still in debt to the US for a few BILLION that Biden dumped into Ukraine with no accountability.

With that deal all of that has changed. It is good for the Ukraine in many ways. The opposition to US aid is off the table and now we determine the security that Ukraine is going to get. BTW, Elon Musk deserves credit for the indispensable tech support he gave them.

America gets access to resources it desperately needed.

Americans will be on Ukraine soil as contractors and advisors. The resources deal is done, and the tripwire is in place. Putin will likely declare victory and pull back rather than risk a world war.  Sadly, Crimea and the eastern territories will remain under Russian control.

It was such a bad look even democratic recognized it and put the Kibosh on any further visits to support a wife beating illegal alien gang banger.

Remember, it was the democrats that put the country in this position.

2016 Trump was elected and he ran on securing the border.  Democrats fought him every step of the way.  The left cried.

2020 Biden is elected and the wall is trashed and the border is thrown open.  Millions of people crossed the border illegally and the Biden DHS flew "parrolled" them and moved them all over the country.

2024 Trump is re-elected and now has to clean up the mess the democrats have caused with illegals all over the country.  Again, the democrats are fighting him and the left is crying.

And then Biden lied and said he needed Congress to enact a bullshit law in order to stem the tide of illegals entering the country.  The dems parroted that talking point and the media ignored the lie.

I'm not impressed by the Ukrainian mineral deal.  The Soviets cannot be trusted.  The United States should never have been involved.  We need a way out of the quagmire, not a way to stay in.

The Cold War is over.  Don't bring it back.  Trump's position on Ukraine stupidly pushes the US deeper into the quagmire.  Sorry, Donnie, this is a bigly FAIL.  Walk away and don't look back.

I'm looking at those who created the Trump/Russia hoax.  Putin is facing sanctions and isolation. These talks are all but over as of tomorrow. That leaves Trump & Zelensky to strengthen Ukraine. That is exactly where we are now.

You mean Putin's position?

NATO members have long whispered in the ears of the past three American presidents: "We don't want to go to war for Ukraine."  It isn't really a secret anymore.

As for Crimea, it is from a previous war. How about getting Putin to give up some of what he took in this war?

Legitimate question:

"WASHINGTON — President Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East,  former real estate attorney and investor Steve Witkoff , has left administration insiders distressed by his approach to negotiating with two of America’s greatest adversaries.

Witkoff, who has become Trump’s de facto personal ambassador to Russian President Vladimir Putin in addition to taking on the Middle East portfolio, takes part in high-level meetings alone — and is said to have even occasionally leaned on Kremlin translators — in a break with longstanding diplomatic procedure, multiple sources told The Post."

Exclusive | Steve Witkoff shouldn't be leading Iran, Russia negotiations, allies and insiders say

Witkoff has a lot on his plate.

Shouldn't all of this belong to the Secretary of State?

Trump's favorable polling is still higher today than it was on election day.    Any polling numbers above 40% are good numbers for Trump.
