Millie Bobby Brown, a 16 year old British actress, was named one of the most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2018.  It came as sort of a shock to me when I read this, because I had never heard of her.  I came to see she was one of the stars of the Netflix series Stranger Things, but since I have never seen that show that means nothing to me.

After watching the movie Enola Holmes on Netflix the other day though, it's not that hard to see why this girl would critical acclaim and win recognition.  She appears to be one of those force of nature type people, and portraying Sherlock Holmes little sister in this movie, she gives the performance of a true movie star. One can easily see her being a superstar in movies for the next 30 years.

Enola Holmes is the story of Sherlock Holmes sister searching for their missing mother in turn of the century (20th century)  London . There is intrigue, political plotting, the first inklings of feminism, and teenage adventure enthusiasm in this movie.

Although more like an elaborate Disney movie than Masterpiece Theater, the endless drive and spirit of Enola Holmes made the movie worth watching , in my opinion.  The only thing that was a little disappointing was that for a Sherlock Holmes movie there isnt much a mystery in the plot.

Yes.  Watched it.  Enjoyed it.  I thought Millie Bobby Brown did a great job.  I wish Helena Bonham-Carter could have had more screen time.

I was expecting Helena Bonham -Carter to be in it more too. Maybe some of her scenes got left on the editing room floor.

I watched it and thought it was great. Would love to see a series made out of it! Millie Bobby Brown was perfect for the role.

This is the kind of a character that is made for multiple sequels, a franchise. I would be very surprised if there is not an Enola Holmes II, III and IV.

Enola Holmes is the central character of six young-adult novels by Nancy Springer. My grandson liked them more than I.

The movie is fairly true to book 1, although Sherlock takes much longer to come over to the light in the book.

These type of things quite often seem to come from books.

I really enjoyed the movie. It looks like Netflix may make sequels now that they have a court settlement from the Doyle estate.

I liked it, but they never really explained (to my satisfaction, anyway) what her mother was actually up to. Lots of buildup, not much payoff. She kind of just shows back up at the end.

At any rate, Millie Bobby Brown probably has a bright future ahead of her.
