The post Scotus hearing consensus on immunity is that the Court will send it back to the lower courts on an ideological based vote, thereby ensuring (nearly) that no trial will proceed before the election.

SCOTUS may do more net damage to our democracy in expanding presidential powers and delaying Trump's trials until after the election than Trump actually achieved in his attempted coup. Think about it. It's nauseating.

There is evidently a very interesting possibility growing out of the likelihood that the SC will throw it back to the district court (Chutkan). She can hold an evidentiary hearing, essentially allowing Jack Smith to present his evidence of trumps wrongdoing without a jury.  This would be a good idea. The most important thing is that the American people hear the details of Trumps criminal behavior before the election. Under this circumstance they would.

I think this is something not enough people are giving thought to. There was a German journalist covering the Trump trial for a German magazine interviewed on tv yesterday.  He said the people in his country are following the case closely, and are amazed and disheartened about what is happening to the American justice system.

I want to see trump get a 30 day suspended sentence for violating the NY gag order and then be incarcerated the very second he violates it again.

i read it, then I took pause. actually, i took two paws to scratch my itchy back. Rather deal with a gaffer than a POS Lying guilty as sin over achieving Trump, who is charged daily with new crimes, but, i guess it is just due to that mentally touched White House inhabitant, that is somehow always out maneuvering the brilliant Trump, who can never catch a break...

Gets away with what?  Trump's alleged criminal behavior has still not been adjudicated in a court of law. The civil case doesn't count.

Most of the voting public have been saturated with negative stories of wrong doing by Trump, but he continues to out poll Biden? Maybe because they consider all these cases to be political hit jobs and election interference???

There appears to be a very real chance that five justices will rule that the president of the United States may use his official powers in order to commit very serious crimes.

The Supreme Court is likely to place Donald Trump above the law in its immunity case - Vox

if that vis the case, perhaps Biden should use some of his powers that this new found immunity deal gives him, and dial up Seal Team Six, and respectfully help a few of these judges to vacate said court and move to Russia, along with Don the Con, so Biden can appoint some new ones, who can then remove this absurd ever considered ruling

Chilling: Justice Alito seems to seriously suggests U.S. coups will be *more* likely if the prosecution of former Presidents is legal, because then some would be incentivized to stage coups to avoid later prosecution.

Donald Trump is a traitor. I could establish that before the Supreme Court, and I'm not even a lawyer.

Do you seriously think that the American people should vote in November without having been exposed to the facts in this matter?

The idea that Trump was within his official duties when he tried to steal the 2020 election is nauseating.

Somehow 44 presidents prior scraped by without threats of a coup. Then elected was a misguided neglected manChild gone wild, as he is a malignant maniacal  miscreant, who's blatant malfeasance   is ever apparent.

the biggest harm these fckers can and apparently will do, as they enable the scum bag another delay, after this waste of a time delay, and it just is disgusting. i have lost so much respect for our judicial system after watching Trumps constituents MILLIONS buying him a whole exclusive set of rules
