Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) accused special counsel John Durham of violating Justice Department protocol by speaking on a pending investigation.

Schiff's accusation came during Durham's appearance before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, his first public testimony since he released his final report, which concluded that the FBI had no proper basis for launching its investigation into whether Russia and former President Donald Trump colluded to interfere in the 2016 election.

The California Democrat asked Durham whether he broke DOJ policy by publicly disagreeing with Inspector General Michael Horowitz's findings in the Crossfire Hurricane inquiry.

"When the inspector general issued a report, saying that the investigation was properly predicated, you spoke out — in violation of Department of Justice policy — to criticize the inspector general's conclusions, didn't you?" Schiff asked.

Durham said he issued a public statement but was "not aware" that he had violated any policy.

"I didn't do it anonymously; I didn't do it through third persons," Durham said.

Schiff, who led the Congressional investigation into Russia and Trump back when he chaired the House Judiciary, further pushed that Durham did violate department protocols.

"I don't know that. If I did, then I did, but I was not aware that I was violating some policy," Durham said.

Durham said he asked Horowitz to look at evidence that he believed "ought to affect portions of this report."

"And you thought it was appropriate for you to intervene with an independent investigation by the inspector general because you thought he was reaching a conclusion that you disagreed with. You thought that was appropriate," Schiff said.

Durham said his team was asked to review Horowitz's draft and bring forward any concerns that they had regarding the findings, causing Schiff and Durham to begin talking over each other. Eventually, Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) intervened and stopped their interaction.

Last month, Durham released his report alleging the FBI and DOJ had no basis for launching the investigation into alleged ties between Russia and Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.

House Republicans have used the report as ammunition for their claims of the "weaponization" of the FBI and Justice Department, which has spurred several committee investigations, hearings, and testimonies.

He's plenty pissed. That's why several Dems reserved their remaining time and gave it to him today so he could continue to arrogantly blather about Trump! Russia! Trump! Russia!. The House is convening today with a new censure procedure where he has to stand in the House well and face the music.

And, as we've seen for the past 7 years - zero evidence to back up any of their claims.

The House is convening today with a new censure procedure where he has to stand in the House well and face the music.

That is going to be interesting.

Yes, it will.

Regarding this morning's hearing, only Newsmax and Fox covered it. None of the broadcast and other cable channels did (except CSpan for about 20 minutes). Typical.

Of course they didn't.  To do so would mean

  1. It doesn't fit the narrative they have been pushing.
  2. It would mean they have been lying to the American people for almost a decade now.

It is rich, isn't it?

It appears that the democrats are using Adam Schiff as the lead antagonist at the Durham hearing.

There is currently a 30 minute recess.

Bobblehead boy lecturing anyone about violating procedure is laughable.

He wrote the book on violating House procedures by barring Republicans from questioning whistleblowers that were part of the first Trump impeachment. Imagine how Democrats would act if a Republican barred them for interviewing; or even being in the same room; as a whistleblower?

One day he will finally be forced to either release the damning evidence he supposedly has against Trump; or be permanently removed from all committees.

Let us all begin by acknowledging the malfeasance of the FBI in all matters involving Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

I am sure Trump would love the FBI protecting him the way it did for Hillary; and now does for Brandon.

Leftists would go absolutely apoplectic if the FBI gave Trump the same favorable treatment.

Durham's appearance before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday

In a tie with Schiff for how arrogant and offending a Democrat Representative can be was Steve Cohen of KFC greasy fingers infamy.

During a tense exchange at Wednesday’s House Judiciary Committee, Justice Department Special Counsel   John Durham   offered a searing comeback to Rep. Steve Cohen's, D-Tenn., cross-examination in which the lawmaker insisted that Durham had damaged his reputation by allegedly helping former President Donald Trump.

Durham dismissed the attack, claiming that he only cares about what people he respects, his family, and "my Lord" think about his reputation.

The retort earned applause by committee members and others in the room.

Durham: 'It's going to take time to rebuild the public's confidence' in FBI after Russia probe"

E2mUHjTO?format=jpg&name=small

Former special counsel John Durham testified Wednesday that the FBI did not pay enough attention to intelligence that Hillary Clinton had approved a plan to smear former President Donald Trump with Russia allegations and treated the two campaigns disparately during the 2016 election.

Durham confirmed that the CIA had received intelligence about Clinton approving a plan to make Russia allegations against Trump as a means of distracting from her classified email scandal.

The prosecutor said the FBI did not "sufficiently scrutinize information it received" and did not "apply the same standards to allegations it received about the Clinton and Trump campaigns."

“The FBI was too willing to accept and use politically funded and uncorroborated opposition research, such as the Steele dossier," he said during the House Judiciary Committee hearing. "The FBI relied on the dossier and FISA applications, knowing there was likely material originating from a political campaign or political opponent."

Pay close attention to how rat basterds like Adam Schiff operate.  Schiff is NOT accusing John Durham of breaking any laws or regulations.  Schiff is accusing Durham of violating DOJ policy and protocols which is strictly an internal matter limited to executive branch personnel management.    Schiff doesn't have the authority to enforce agency or department policy.

Even more troubling for Schiff is that Durham is not denying anything.  Durham states he is unaware of having violated DOJ policy and protocols but doesn't deny anything he has done.  Even if Durham did violate some sort of DOJ policy or protocol there's not one damn thing Adam Schiff can do about it.

Two things we need to remember about Adam Schiff and why so many Democrats in this hearing are giving part of their time to him. He needs to bask in the sun for more than his allotted 5 minutes because:

  • He's facing House censure today after having been removed from committees
  • He's got his sights set on taking Dianne Feinstein's Senate seat.

A censure will blowback on Republicans.  Democrats celebrate asswipes being censured.

And, yes, Schiff wants visibility because he plans to run for Feinstein's Senate seat.  But, then, Schiff demonstrating he is an asswipe would be an advantage in California elections.  Not only can Schiff part ways with any sort of civilized behavior; Schiff will actually be rewarded in CA politics for acting like a barbarian.

Adam Schiff has zero redeeming qualities, he is lacking in both integrity and honor. This obviously makes him the perfect candidate to fill Feinstein’s senate seat.

Here are Durham’s words: “Indeed, based on the evidence gathered in the multiple exhaustive and costly federal investigations of these matters, including the instant investigation, neither U.S. law enforcement nor the Intelligence Community appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion in their holdings at the commencement of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.”

Notice the phrase “appears to have”; this is weaselly. The paragraph should say “… neither U.S. law enforcement nor the Intelligence Community possessed any actual evidence of collusion …” or the paragraph should not be there at all. The weaselly statement indicates that they didn’t look where they might find something they didn’t want to see*. Much of Trump’s income was derived from Russian Oligarchs, of course for Republicans, being beholden to the corrupt power structure of and enemy country shouldn’t be grounds for worry!

* Mueller convicted about half a dozen people in Trump’s orbit of lying to the FBI about their contacts with Russia. That is why Mueller said his report does not exonerate Trump from collusion. Anyone who knew about Russian contact lied because they knew they worked for a corrupt President who would and did pardon them.

I didn't do it anonymously; I didn't do it through third persons," Durham said.

I'd love to see Adam Schiff try and say that under oath.

Nice point by Durham.
