DNC paid Biden's legal expenses during Hur probe: Report

The Democratic National Committee paid for much of President Joe Biden's legal expenses while special counsel Robert Hur's investigation explored his handling of classified materials, Axios reported, citing "two people familiar with the matter" and the outlet's own review of campaign finance records.

Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Hur in January of last year following revelations that one of Biden's attorneys had discovered classified materials while clearing out Biden's former private office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington.

Hur published his findings just over a year later, and found "evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen."

Throughout the process, the DNC reportedly paid more than $1.5 million to the president's legal representatives. That figure reportedly included $1.05 million to Bob Bauer PLLC, the eponymous firm of Biden's chief attorney. Axios also highlighted substantive upticks in payments to law firm Hemenway & Barnes.

The report appears to undercut criticisms from the Biden campaign over former President Donald Trump's use of campaign contributions to foot his own legal bills stemming from multiple criminal indictments his faces.

Trump faces two federal indictments from special counsel Jack Smith as well as charges from Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

So it was found Bident had unsecured classified documents (when he shouldn't have had access to them), and the DNC covered the bill.

No, there's no problem there.  /s

What exactly is the problem? The RNC has covered a lot of Trump's legal costs.

supposedly 51plus million to under two, and i'd give them hypocrisy, but they've never recognized it

And the left and Democrats had a tantrum and cried about it.  Explain why are they silent about this?  Not like we already don't know.

Everybody is always having a tantrum about something. I find it a waste of donation money, but then I don't donate money to political causes.

Explain why are they silent about this?

So, it's really not about the act of spending the money on legal costs, it's about tit-for-tat partisan games. Got it... proceed.

IF the RNC wants to fuck their down ballot candidates by paying Trump's legal fees they are entitled to do so. Personally, I find it humorous when I care enough to pay attention to it.

You know they will still throw their tantrums and cry about him.

Good to see your support for the hypocrisy is still in tact.

Look at it this way... If they are spending money on Joe's legal bills they aren't spending it in campaigns to defeat Republicans. You should be happy.

Seriously I don't care what the DNC or RNC spend their money on. I don't donate... I don't care. The constant cash grab for campaigns is obscene already and I only have so many fucks to give.

Lol...

the same people who've spent months mocking Trump donors for paying Trump's legal bills will be fine with this.

The only thing I find interesting about all this is that Biden never claimed to be a mutibillionaire like the other guy does.

The pundit Linda Chavez was on a show last week, and they were talking about the hush money trial.  She says Trump could have avoided all this if he wasnt a cheapskate.  If he paid the 130,000 to Stormy Daniels out of his personal "billions" he wouldnt be on trial today.

He's spent the last few years trying to cover it up.

So when does Traitor Joe's trial start?

It's not because he's been successful.  The man has failed at everything for the past 50 years.

But, I'd venture a guess at kickbacks.  Using his position for personal profit.

True.    Biden has never had a real job.    He made his millions the old fashioned way.    By fleecing his followers and getting kick backs for political favors.
