There’s No ‘Science’ That Justifies Illegal Power Grabs
“Science” is not the sole arbiter of our freedoms, and safety is not the sole aim of governance. But then, such decisions are not about science. They are about power. This is why governors are claiming emergency powers to suspend duly passed state laws that protect election integrity – laws requiring voter identification and witnesses for absentee ballots, as well as laws that require election officials to compare signatures to ensure an absentee ballot was actually cast by the voter. It’s time to call out national democrat politicians and blue city mayors and blue state governors for the complete and total frauds that they are!  Their use of emergency powers to make themselves virtual dictators and their anti science pronouncements on behalf of their agenda is evil incarnate and a threat to the constitution and to our republic.  When they let rioting vandal looters riot all over the place because of the importance of that cause while keeping businesses in their areas shut down til after the election for political reasons and trample on the necks of worshipping Christians like to goose stepping jack booted thugs that they and their Antifa and BLM storm troopers are, they have no credibility

In present day Michigan, patients denied access to medical services by Governor Gretchen Whitmer die from complications resulting from the denial, and groups seeking to express opinions that are not to the governor’s liking are threatened with jail.

Nationally, former Vice President Joe Biden runs television ads declaring that he will implement a national mask mandate if and when he’s inaugurated — four months from now.

We are told that all of this is necessary because we must “follow the science,” and that elected governors — and Mr. Biden, should he be elected — are the only people wise enough to interpret the science and divine the correct course of action. Not legislatures, and certainly not the American people.

And so I ask: what science supports calling for a national mask mandate four months from now?

What science makes it necessary for Governor Whitmer to threaten our client One Nation, a group inspired by urban black pastors, with jail for seeking to rally against cancel culture? For that matter, what science entitles the governor to violate her own orders and march with protesters whom she does agree with?

What science supported the practice of forcing nursing homes to accept COVID patients, resulting in more than 40 percent of our national COVID deaths occurring in nursing homes? What scientific reasoning justified quarantining persons in need of medical care away from that care?

“Science” is not the sole arbiter of our freedoms, and safety is not the sole aim of governance.

But then, such decisions are not about science. They are about power.

This is why governors are claiming emergency powers to suspend duly passed state laws that protect election integrity – laws requiring voter identification and witnesses for absentee ballots, as well as laws that require election officials to compare signatures to ensure an absentee ballot was actually cast by the voter.

And because it is about power, the only persons punished for violating orders are those who offend the governors of our nation — governors who have declared themselves to be above the lawmaking process and to actually be  the law. We see this in the way they describe violence as speech and speech as violence. The greatest crime is not failing to have your mask cover your nose and mouth, but rather challenging the cultural orthodoxy they seek to impose.

Why else is the State of Michigan marshalling its public health and law enforcement resources to investigate and prosecute Karl Manke, a barber in Owosso, Michigan, who had the audacity to return to what he has been doing for 60 years — cutting the hair of customers who voluntarily come to his shop? He does so with a mask, and hand sanitizer is present. But he also criticized the governor, publicly.

And so, he might go to jail. And he might lose his license to cut hair. And while we’re on it – why do we need the state to license barbers in the first place? Have you ever even considered whether a hairdresser or barber even has a state license before you sat in the chair?

Again, it’s not about safety. It’s about power.

Maybe these sorts of emergency actions are justifiable as a temporary measure when foreign troops are invading our soil, or when the duly-elected legislature has been incapacitated. But they are certainly not acceptable when the democratic process is still functioning like normal.

When did the left lose faith in democracy? Or maybe more to the point, did they ever have any real faith that the people they deride as “deplorables” can be trusted with democratic freedoms?

The arrogance necessary to assume such broad power is reflected in Governor Whitmer’s claim that her decisions have saved thousands of lives.

Really?

The governor assumes that her neighbors and fellow Michiganders will not exercise their freedoms with responsibility unless she threatens them with jail.

It is becoming abundantly clear that we should have protected the vulnerable rather than quarantine healthy people away from their hopes, dreams, families, and livelihoods.

When did flattening the curve become crushing dreams?

And when did it become okay to interfere with a patient-physician relationship?

I am directing a project that is representing those harmed by these arbitrary orders and their capricious enforcement. Recently we filed a brief in a case brought by Michigan health care providers against their governor challenging her exercise of such extraordinary powers to prevent doctors from treating their patients in non-emergency situations.

The problem is that Governor Whitmer clearly does not understand what constitutes a medical emergency, and doctors are being threatened with the loss of their medical licenses based on the governor’s distressingly vague orders, resulting in doctors being afraid to treat a wide variety of medical conditions.

And so, as Governor Whitmer claimed to save lives, these doctors were forced to watch their patients suffer and even die because of her orders.

At least the Michigan Supreme Court seems to be concerned. Last week, the Court hosted oral arguments in the case. About two hours into the argument, Justice Stephen Markman challenged the governor’s attorney by asking what standards and circumstances would be necessary to rein in the newfound sweeping, unilateral authority the governor has given herself. Michigan Solicitor General Fadwa A. Hammoud  didn’t have a real answer.

It is evident to all who have watched over the past six months that the left is more in love with “emergency powers” than with the principles of representative democracy.

I wonder what other “emergencies” are on the horizon that they believe democracy is ill-suited to handle.

Projection is a thing and pervasive among some Trump supporters. Some Trump supporters are seriously gaslighting the general public. Be smart, America! Look out!

There is one of the lefts favorite accusations. They use it so much because they are so used to engaging in it so much they think everyone does.

So what is the duties and responsibilities of a U.S. governor? To let Trump supporters run roughshod on public safety, supplanting science with thoughts and "indicators" of freedom during a worldwide outbreak? If Trump supporters are not reading and processing the science, what medical facts do they use to educate themselves? For the record, even beasts of the field have reasonable good common-sense to seek "indoors" from foul weather and bad air.

Some Trump supporters make such noisy, specious, arguments empty of deep reflection. Freedom ain't shit if you are too sick to interact with it. Even worse, graveyard dead—individually or collectively. As Donald (the optimist") (the "confidence" man) has learned the hard way the virus gives a little shit about human optimism!

Townhall is fake news.

former Vice President Joe Biden runs television ads declaring that he will implement a national mask mandate if and when he’s inaugurated — four months from now.

Has trump ever issued a mask mandate? He's known how deadly and contagious covid is since January.. Nope, no mask mandate, and as recently as last week, he was openly mocking people who wear masks.

I found it particularly entertaining that trump literally blamed Biden, (a private citizen), for not issuing a mask mandate when he, the POTUS, has issued no mask mandate in what..9 months? It's always someone else's fault..

One thing that is without doubt, Donald Trump is Machiavellian in his lying. Mitch McConnell is a "red" fraud.  Both men and their party are fully on display, nearly full of men and women with no regard for honor, decency, and the America Way. I am reminded of this nation's past, where it was heard, "White man speaks with forked tongue." Duplicitous and beguiling. That is the "great" Donald plans to take this great people (un-united) back to. When a man's word was not worth very much! And you had to be careful your whole life about what "deal" you entered into with those "serpents."

And some dare ask why Black Americans won't join in with the Republicans en masse! HA!

The black president had to contend with white senate male conservative bullshit for eight years even during the period of a republican white republican conservative - great recession. Republicans in 2008-2016 were referred to correctly as the "do-nothing" Congress(es). As the sat on their damn hands and took what was offered to them and gave nothing substantial back to assist that president. We all saw it happen.

Donald Trump gives and takes back. He is a confidence man. He peddles other people "stuff" and skims what he wishes off the top. What he accomplished for minorities, for a good work we do not criticize him. But that does not excuse or grant permission for the BS, moral-less, unprincipled creature to assume we are like him. We are not! We strive to stand for something, because we have had the rug pulled out from under our butts one too many times.

Now then, here is Trump's conoravirus ravaging the "American minorties" and where is this "crusader" this "reformer" I will tell you where he is, off spreading blatant and misleading information about what this virus is and how it kills (largely minorities).

Black Unemployment Rate Rises While White Joblessness Falls

By
Catarina Saraiva and Matthew Boesler

  • The gap between black and white unemployment had narrowed
  • Majority of black population is not working right now

Black unemployment climbed to the highest in more than a decade in May as the coronavirus pandemic continued to weigh on the U.S. labor market.

The 16.8% rate for black Americans topped that for white Americans, which ticked down to 12.4% last month, according to a report published Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The highest rate was among Latino workers, 17.6% of whom reported being unemployed.

The unemployment-rate gap between black and white Americans had been narrowing since 2011, but even at its low in August, the black unemployment rate was two percentage points above white Americans’ 3.4% rate. The difference between the two rates swelled during the last recession.

It's what confidence men and women do. They get in, make the deal, shaky as it is or as best they can and leave. If things work out—great. If they fall apart—oh well, you know how it is, 'Cuz.'!

Donald Trump is a con man extraordinaire.

Obama had filibuster proof control of Congress for some of that period. He enjoyed less partisan restraint on his actions than any President since LBJ. It was his manifest failure to exercise such power successfully that allowed Republicans spectacular midterm triumph of 2010.

We want to be something other thank vindictive assholes to one another in this life. Because it lowers the quality of our being to simply take what we don't need to live and stockpile it away in our private silos from those who do need it to make life work.

I am not going to re-litigate the 2008 - 2010 season with you and the tea-partiers groups which showed their natural-born butts on the steps of the capital spitting on democrats and at town-hall events driven by shows like  Fox's "Fox and Friends."

We needed a national healthcare then as we do now. Indeed, it is fortuitous that people have ACA now for the first painful and agonizing months of this Trump pandemic in our country.

Republicans had wanted a healthplan for thirty years like others did. And they could not garner the votes to get it done. Even to this moment as I type, republicans want a healthcare plan and have nothing - nothing on paper to offer. Even as they work to 'slay' the ACA!

So keep those stupid BS talking points away from me!

This is the typical type of goat (insert invective "F" word here) rodeo that happens here all the time.   There is no point to having a discussion because so many are simply anti Trump fanatics dealing only with the narratives that were outlined shortly after November 2016 when Trump beat the chosen one.   Too many are still stuck somewhere between step two and five of the grieving process to be logical about much of anything.   It's just the same old shit different day.

So It's a goatf*** across the board with those folks when Trump is invovled.     What you so sanctimonious call "conscience drive discussions" i know is usually just simple butt hurt driven TDS.   There is little if any logic ever involved but we do get the preferred narrative every time.   Dedicated propagandists one and all.

We want to be something other thank vindictive assholes to one another in this life. Because it lowers the quality of our being to simply take what we don't need to live and stockpile it away in our private silos from those who do need it to make life work.

You may have missed the video clip (google it) where Donald Trump literally declares he is (his supporters) chosen one. Information is your friend at moments like this one, before you go off half-cocked at others.

I don't need to remark on Donald if he would settle down and moderate his job performance, over-saturation in the public, by and stop feeling his supporters need to get a rise out of the country 365 days and leap years. Donald has stuck his big mouth into nearly every nook and cranny of our system proclaiming himself qualified AND CHOSEN with his supporters ridiculous assents to "f" them all in one manner or another. We do not want, need, or can operate with our government systems "dedicated" to the whims of one self-important 'flintsonian' personality.

Observations-bobservations! If the shoe fits wear it. You demanded it; don't blame anybody for mentioning the excesses hidden away in conservative circles. Damn consevative busybodies. Most are simply greedy for gain and think God gave them _,me_me_me land for life!

He is nothing without his stupid "chorus" of enablers buoying up the confidence man (aka: con man) to front for the thefts they could not bring themselves to pull off!

There is no republican healthplan and were it to be so, would it be worth is 'salt'? Or just some BS plan used to scuttle the ACA out of (black) spite - simply because Trump can't stand "the black president" who got 'er done?!
