The Wrong People in the Wrong Positions at the Wrong Time.
"I don't know of a proposal to decriminalize but still make it unlawful to enter, I just don't know the answer to that question, I haven't thought about it"...Merrick Garland

The Senate is now considering some of president Biden's radical cabinet selections. Some of them are obvious in their ideological beliefs, others like Biden himself are disguised as moderates.

Among the Trojan horses would be Biden's choice for Attorney General - Merrick Garland.

th?id=OVFT.CaEKQ8pMdceYau0w1NUqlS&pid=News&w=197&h=112&c=14&rs=2&qlt=90

Garland is facing two days of questioning, and he has vowed to a Senate panel to uphold the independence of the Justice Department.

How's this for telling us what Garland is all about?  Sen. Josh Hawley during a Monday Senate Judiciary Committee hearing asked Merrick Garland whether he thought unlawful border crossings into the U.S. "should remain a crime.?"

Garland said that he had not "thought about that question."

Imagine that!

Senator Hawley then asked Garland whether he would carry on with prosecuting illegal border crossings.

"Well, this is again a question of allocation of resources," Garland said. "The department will prevent unlawful crossing," he said, noting that he does not "know what the current program even is with respect to this." He said,  "I assume that the answer would be yes," though he does not "know what the issues...surrounding it are."

He does not know?

Finally, Sen. Lindsey Graham asked Garland during the hearing if he would "look into that practice of using asylum claims by drug cartels to weaken border security?"

Garland said that he had not been aware of such an issue but that he would look into it.

He's not aware of that????

Then there is Biden's pick for the sprawling $1.2 Trillion agency know as HHS. For this job Biden has chosen a man with zero experience but plenty of extreme views, the CA AG Xavier Becerra.

Becerra has been a staunch supporter of abortion rights and has claimed illegal immigration is not actually illegal because the border crossers "haven't committed a crime against someone." Becerra could very well codify liberal policy objectives in his role.

Becerra's past actions

Consider Becerra’s treatment of nuns. The   Little Sisters of the Poor   are an order that cares for the elderly poor. After Obamacare was passed, with its punishing mandate to subsidize both   contraception and life-ending drugs   and devices in private and public health plans, the Sisters fought   all the way to the Supreme Court   twice to follow their consciences, with   Becerra suing   to end their religious exemption.   Becerra has also been a  champion of legal efforts  in California against places of worship being allowed to accommodate socially distanced believers during COVID.

However, one business that got Becerra’s support during a pandemic was abortion vendors who are using the crisis to increase sales of deadly chemical abortion pills. While   states were scrambling   to secure personal protective equipment and ventilators,   Becerra organized 21 state attorney generals  to sue the Food and Drug Administration, asking that the health and safety standards that protect women taking the drugs be dropped, even though the chemicals have   four times the complications  of surgical abortion, can   cause dangerous complications  later in pregnancy and in ectopic pregnancies, and can harm women’s   future fertility   if handed out without proper screening and treatment for blood type. They also pose a   risk to women if abusers get hold  of the drugs to force on women, sometimes without their knowledge or consent.

Then there is Neera Tanden for OMB

Her nomination seems increasingly unlikely, as even Senator Joe Manchin has announced that he will be voting against her.

Tanden, who is president of the Democratic-leaning Center for American Progress, has spent years attacking both Republicans and left-leaning critics of her former boss Hillary Clinton. Politicians never forget.  Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton said it best: "Tanden’s rhetoric online was “filled with hate & guided by the woke left.”   Biden has left her nomination out there nonetheless. Maybe he thinks they can persuade Manchin or Murkowski one more time.

These are the most noteworthy of the far left Biden nominees. With only about a month into his term, Biden has served the left well.

... close to 40% of U.S. crude production is offline because refineries are closed due to last weeks winter storm. It has nil to do with Biden.

After watching his confirmation hearing, I’d add merrick garland.  What a pathetic performance that was.  Serious mueller vibes.  To think he was somehow almost on the Supreme Court.

the difference between ACB’s testimony and garlands is like the difference between a da Vinci painting and a toddler being given access to water paints for the first time.

Garland didn't seem to know if entering the US was illegal, yet he gave a very emotional defense (to the point of losing his composure) of DOJ radicals when Senator Mike Lee questioned him. Suddenly he knew what Sen Lee was talking about!

Maybe you could give a  specific example of a drug cartel using asylum claims to weaken border security?  In order to claim asylum you first have to turn yourself into US authorities.  Doesn't seem like something a drug cartel would do.

too bad there's no way for republicans to avoid the blatant hypocrisy of the last administration's appointments of the unqualified, incompetent, and major campaign donors in the last cabinet.

""Tanden’s rhetoric online was “filled with hate & guided by the woke left.”

Meh, Donald's rhetoric was filled with hate and guided by the wonky woke right.
