Ron DeSantis Blasts D.C. Elites: ‘No Accountability. How The Hell Else Does Fauci Still Have A Job?’’

by Eric Thompson about 2 hours agoupdated about 2 hours ago

When you are a leader and promoted to high-ranking positions, you end up a hero to some and a villain to others. You have to take the good with the bad, especially in politics.

Following the 15 days to stop the spread, shut down fiasco, Florida GOP Governor Ron DeSantis took control of the COVID outbreak in his state and set in motion plans to protect the elderly especially, which has paid off in spades for their large population of retirees.

During a speech at a dinner hosted by the Heritage Foundation, Governor DeSantis went after President Biden and other “elites” in Washington D.C., slamming Biden’s vaccine mandate, “This is fundamentally about an abuse of federal power and unconstitutional use of the federal government.”

“While other states kept locking people down, Florida kept lifting people up. We did not sub-contract out leadership to Dr. Fauci,” DeSantis insisted.

“I resolved in the state of Florida, we would be a free state; we would not allow our state to descend into a Faucian dystopia in which people’s freedoms were curtailed and their livelihoods were ruined”.

“In September, the U.S. reported about 194,000 new jobs nationwide; Florida’s share of that was 84,500 jobs,” DeSantis pointed out proudly.

He then promised to try and get legislation enacted which would create an Election, Crimes, and Integrity unit to protect against election violations.

Then he targeted the D.C. elites:

Biden really represents potentially the culmination of—or, I mean, hopefully, the coup de grâce of—this entrenched political class that has really ruined a lot about our country over the last generation. And it’s not limited to just Democrats. There’s a uni-party in Washington, D.C., and they look out for themselves more than the rest of the American people. …

Our ruling class doesn’t think [there’s] anything distinctive about American citizenship. That’s why they would consider paying reparations to people that came across our border illegally, because they think people have a right to come, regardless of the laws and Constitution of the United States.

These elites have done more than anybody to facilitate the rise of China. The fact of the matter is had they not done most-favored nation and all this stuff for China, China would be much weaker today. The U.S. ruling class has been China’s best friend, and now we look at them as by far our most significant adversary. … You look at the next three years what China’s going to do? They watch Biden floundering around; these people are really tough. They’re going to make sure that they exact a huge amount of price based on Biden’s failures, and that is not just Biden. That’s a whole cadre of these elites. And the thing is, nobody’s ever held accountable. If you’re in the club in D.C., there’s no accountability. How the hell else does Fauci still have a job?

Florida Gov. DeSantis trolls President Biden, will sign bills limiting vaccine mandates in Brandon, FL

DeSantis to sign legislation expanding exemptions to vaccination mandates

Matt Leach BRANDON, Fla. –

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to sign a package of anti-COVID-19 vaccine mandate bills into law Thursday in Brandon, Florida – a thinly veiled jab at President Biden.

In a rebuke to the White House , the legislative package will prevent workers from being required to get vaccinated. Employers will be required to allow exemptions including, but not limited to health or religious concerns; pregnancy or anticipated future pregnancy; and past recovery from COVID-19.

The phrase "Let’s go, Brandon" exploded after an NBC reporter mistakenly used the phrase to describe a NASCAR crowd that was chanting "F--- Joe Biden."

FLORIDA'S DESANTIS DUBS BIDEN ADMIN THE ‘BRANDON ADMINISTRATION’

Earlier in November, DeSantis dubbed the Biden administration the "Brandon administration" during a press conference in Palm Beach.

"The significance of signing this legislation in Brandon, Florida, is not lost on the governor," DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw said.

So, you’re saying he’s “using the Force?” I guess that’s more effective than getting vaccinated.

You realize that Florida has a very good vaccination rate, right? De Santis has always promoted the vaccine and its use.  He promotes other treatments as well.  He, like me and many civil libertarians oppose government mandates and controls over individuals and businesses.

The facts show that De Santis led the charge on getting his most vulnerable citizens vaccinated first and then the general population.  He’s managed to get high vaccination rates in his state without resorting to lockdowns or mask mandates or vaccine mandates.  Freedom and individual liberty is a wonderful thing.

You realize that Florida has a very good vaccination rate, right?

No. It’s about 60% and I don’t consider that to be “good.” Even a year and a half ago, infectious disease experts were saying we would need vaccination rates from 75%-90% to achieve herd immunity, and that was before we saw the more infectious Delta variant. So, no, 60% actually kinda sucks. It’s better than zero, but it’s not “good.”

There are a couple dozen countries with more than 75% of their populations fully vaccinated. That’s “good.”

De Santis has always promoted the vaccine and its use.

Is that so? How many laws has he signed to promote or facilitate its use? It looks to me like DeSantis is putting about 1000X more effort into inhibiting the use of the vaccine than he is into promoting it.

He promotes other treatments as well.

A vaccine isn’t a treatment, and neither is horse wormer.

He, like me and many civil libertarians oppose government mandates and controls over individuals and businesses.

Yeah, I’m gonna call HORSESHIT here. You are no civil libertarian and neither is DeSantis. A civil libertarian would allow a business to do business on its own terms. So if Disney wants to say that no one boards their ships - ships they own - without a Covid vaccine, they should be allowed to do that. But DeSantis doesn’t support that idea and is using as much of his government power as he can to tell a private business how to conduct its affairs.

”Civil Libertarian” my left nut.

Let’s go Brandon!
The federal mandates are on life support and virtually dead.  We the people are going to defeat our President and defy his will for us.  We are not his subjects.  He is our public servant.

The Democrats and left are going to lose their minds on this one.  They will do everything to stop this from happening.

How The Hell Else Does Fauci Still Have A Job?

The man has lied about virtually everything.  His own emails debunk much of what he's told the country.  He's lied to the American people, he's lied to Congress (if here weren't a Democrat lap dog he'd already be in jail).  How much more do we have to hear from this fraud.

I don't know why it's so hard for some to keep on topic.  After posting #3 I did some digging and found Fauci's emails.  There are over 3200 pages.  Some are redacted but there is still enough to show he's been lying and trying to cover this up from day 1.

plans to protect the elderly especially, which has paid off in spades for their large population of retirees.

What plans? By which metric(s), I wonder, do they determine that those plans have “paid off in spades?”

Florida has a had a very high number of both cases and deaths - and for a big state, quite a lot relative to the population. They had their worst surge of cases and deaths only this past summer. You would think that if there were plans in place that were actually effective, this summer would have been easier - not harder - than past Covid waves.

a Faucian dystopia in which people’s freedoms were curtailed and their livelihoods were ruined”.

What does a Faucian dystopia look like?

Is it dystopia to wear masks around other people to fight the spread of disease? Why isn’t it dystopia when surgeons or dentists wear masks?

Is it dystopia to get a vaccination for that same disease? Why isn’t it dystopia when schools, hospitals, or the military require vaccinations for other diseases?

The plan he’s had from day one to get seniors and those at risk for co morbidities vaccinated first along with medical and first responders vaccinated first and had great success protecting them.  It’s a matter of public record.

Florida had a rough summer and didn’t steal its businesses opportunities or citizens freedom during it, and now the north will likely have a rough winter.  It’s already starting to go up there so those celebrating Florida’s earlier misfortune will be paying now.

Choosing to wear masks and choosing to get vaccinated voluntarily is not dystopian.  Coercing others to do either under threat of some penalty is.

The plan he’s had from day one

Which is what? Specifically.

those at risk for co morbidities vaccinated first along with medical and first responders vaccinated first

That is not Ron DeSantis’ plan. That’s the CDC’s plan. And the main reason for that need to prioritize was because early on in the vaccination process, supplies were limited. People with comorbidities are at greater risk from illness.

First responders are more likely than others to contract or spread the virus. Nevertheless, Governor DeSantis has actively been trying to block vaccine requirements for these workers.

I wonder when he’ll move on to blocking hospitals from requiring surgeons to wear masks?

Florida had a rough summer

So his “plan” didn’t do much for his state this summer.

those celebrating Florida’s earlier misfortune

Like who? Who is celebrating any of this?

Choosing to wear masks and choosing to get vaccinated voluntarily is not dystopian.  Coercing others to do either under threat of some penalty is.

So if you have surgery, and the doctors and nurses don’t want to wear masks, that would be ok with you? You don’t think the hospital should be allowed to require it? How about the requirement that they wash their hands or use sanitizer?

How about a nice teeth-cleaning from a dental hygienist who won’t get vaccinated or wear a mask?

Gee, did she just sniffle? Should you say something?

Florida has a high vaccination rate.  They did things the right way.  How much better off are the anti freedom governor/government control everything states like New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, etc?  For all their lockdowns, church closures, government controls, nursing home policies, business clampdowns, high unemployment, limiting indoor activities, school closures, mask mandates, and vaccine mandates/passports and more how much better off are they now than Florida is?  What did they gain from crushing their economies and checking in their freedom while shutting up and obeying?

Florida has a high vaccination rate.

Based on what? The “Cuz you say so” metric? I have already explained to you @ 2.1.7 why it’s not “good” - nevermind “high” but you ignore it.

how much better off are they now than Florida is?

See, that’s not even the point. We could dance around and compare part of one state to parts of all other 50 states. We wouldn’t get very far. So I consider what is needed and what is possible .

What is needed is a vaccination rate near 90%. What’s more, we apparently need to get people taking boosters because we are seeing more and more people in the hospital who have been vaccinated, but haven’t had their boosters.

What is possible at this time is vaccination rates of 80%-90%. Florida - and much of the US - continue to languish around 60%. Scientists have been recommending 75% minimum, but prefer something closer to 90%. Can this be done? It absolutely can. Consider vaccination rates in other countries:

UAE: 90%

Singapore: 88%

Portugal: 87%

Malta: 86%

Chile: 84%

Cambodia: 80%

Spain: 80%

Cuba: 78%

Qatar: 78%

Malaysia: 78%

South Korea: 78%

Iceland: 78%

China: 77%

Canada: 77%

Ireland: 76%

Denmark: 76%

Uruguay: 76%

Japan: 76%

The United States sits at 59%. That SUCKS! Especially considering how much money we invested and the access we have to the best vaccines. It also SUCKS because you would think the country that leads the world in Covid infections and deaths would enthusiastically embrace the vaccine against the virus.

But what is Ron DeSantis’ response to this? “Don’t make us get the bad shot! The people need freedom!”

Honestly, if he hates mandates so much, why not sign even more legislation to outlaw existing Florida mandates for measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, polio, hepatitis, and so on?

I’ll give you a hint: He doesn’t do this because he’s full of shit. It’s not about liberty. It’s about politics. And you’re buying into his bullshit.
