Happy New Year Mac..I do hope Mrs Mac is going well and we will see what 2021 brings us. The Federal government here has just put a myeloma drug on the PBS. So instead of costing $160,000 a year it is now free to all. I am already on it and was free as I am on the trial. A good way to start the New Year. Give my regards to Mrs Mac slow and steady as we go and a day at a time..best wishes to you both for 2021.
Thank you, shona and I hope you are doing well. The news about the myeloma drug is a blessing; here in America, the annual cost of Revlimid is currently $130,000+.
I hope you are able to view this. My wife takes Revlimid!
Yes I am on revlimid it is also free here. Otherwise it would cost $120,000 a year. The new drug they put on the list is daratumbanab which would cost $160,000 a year so that is also free.. so far all my drugs hospital stays stem cell transplant etc has all been free. Very lucky I live in Australia..yes drug companies and how they profit at times is rather disgusting from what I have heard .
I have a cousin who also has multiple myeloma, and he was a subject in some of the trials for daratumumab. His drug regimen has him reaching his out-of-pocket max for the year by the end of January every year. It's insane.
Knee deep in flowers we'll stray We'll keep the showers away And if I kiss you, in the garden In the moonlight, will you pardon me? And tip toe through the tulips with me
Morning Kavika. That is gorgeous. Happy New Year to you and all your Family. Hope they are safe up in NSW re the virus. We have had another small out break in Melbourne so with luck we will stamp it out again. It sure is persistent but so are we. Roll on 2021 with what ever it brings us.
Yes, it is my jacket, it isn't hand-painted it all stitched in by hand and very labor-intensive. I rarely wear it since I don't want it ruined and I look at it as an art piece, not just a jacket. This will be passed on to my grandson in due time.
I have another very beautiful jacket that I do wear from time to time. One of these days I'll take a photo of it and post it here.
Morning. Well 2021 is already here. It is a grey and cool morning not had much of a summer so far. Happy New Year to you all across the sea. I hope you stay well and stay safe. What ever 2021 has install for us with courage grace and determination we will meet it head on. Roll on 2021.
What ever 2021 has install for us with courage grace and determination we will meet it head on. Roll on 2021.
Very well said, shona. I am hoping that 2021 brings a much better year, one that sees our world healing and renewing our faith and trust in one another.
Given how 2020 started versus how it's ending, I have absolutely no intention of celebrating the beginning of a new year that could be worse. However I have no qualms about marking the occasion with a good drunk. I hope everyone has a much better New Year.
Going to do a face time with my grandkids … which seems to be a currently viable alternative to past New Years Eves. I'll post at least one more image later tonight to take us into Friday.
The same to you and all your family, Mac. And thank you very much for hosting this wonderful and very enjoyable group where we can share our artwork, photos and very enjoyable stories, as well as informative conversations.
May the new year bring you peace, good health, and many good Blessings.
No....thank you Mac...your photos and stories that go with them is what keeps us sane at times. The world of virus and US politics is more than a Koala can bare at times...The enjoyment you bring to others is truly inspirational...thank you ..
Last January 1st the building did this outside our apartment's main door: The 4 Chinese characters lit up in farther in say shien yin quai loh, which translates to Happy New Year. The one they put up this year is even better, but I didn't have my camera with me. I'll try to remember to take it with me next time I'm out at night.
Evening buzz.. looks absolutely lovely..yes would be nice to get a photo of this years. Have a huge electrical storm going on here tonight...so it is mother's nature's own fire works I guess. No thunder so far or rain, but may not be far away. Happy New Year to you and your wife..hope 2021 is a good one for us all..nearly Jan 2nd here and have a feeling for me it is going to be another "Sleepless in Victoria"...side effect every Friday night of the medications, but it is what it is and just have to make the best of it.. Happy New Year..
if there's an iconographic reference out there, I cannot resist!
Indeed I do know that, Mac, and I do love it. I learn a lot from you and your various teachings and references, and I am sure I am not the only one. So I very much look forward to your sharing them with us here.
The Song of Hiawatha is one of my favorite poems, it is such a beautiful story. It is also a poem that I had to learn to recite in English class in Jr. High school.
So please continue your very helpful and enjoyable input. It is very much appreciated.
Yes, it works but it stops and starts, stops and starts. I will allow it to play through although it may take a half hour or more, and then see if I start back at the begining if it will play through smoothly.
Thank you for the follow-up, Buzz. I know now that I have a converter for YouTube videos to both formats that you can open and see.
I think I've had enough of Tiny Tim now for the next half century.
I hear that! I had to play that video when converting the YouTubes to make sure the converted formats were going to work as needed. I'll be hearing Tip Toeing Through The Tulips in my sleep for a while now. (Ugh!)
Playing with my new superzoom camera after a New Year's Eve ice storm in the Ozarks:
That was hand-held from about 80 feet away. It should be clearer, but I didn't realize at the time that I only had it set on half resolution. Oh well, I'm an amateur. I'll get better.

That's a great photo of the Cardinal among the ice covered branches of the tree. I bet his little feet were freezing against that ice. Makes me shiver just to look at it.
That he is battle weary Warrior. He is kneeling before the Creator to give him strength to save as many lives as he can. The Eagle above him is his sacred Spirit Guide, to help give him the courage to fight the battles that must yet be fought.
The images that you've been posting, this one perhaps a little more than others, are not only magnificent but demonstrate historical and deeply human and spiritual realities of their era.
Thank you for your very kind words, Buzz. What you have described is much of what I try so hard to show in my artwork. I want them to be more than jut something nice to look at, but, to also show the human side of it as well. To show the reality of the image and to bring the viewer into the image and the feelings depicted. All of which you have so excellently described.
Thank you, but what is truly awesome is the artistry that went into the creation of that wall - I believe the figures are jade. And I wish my photo could have made the ceiling a bit brighter to show the intricacy of its decoration.
the artistry that went into the creation of that wall - I believe the figures are jade.
The artistry and use of an abundance of vibrant colors in the wall is a prime example of the elegant and ornate workmanship of the Chinese artists and craftsmen.
To help move us toward Sunday, a new painting … this time, instead of a "Red Dragon," it's a "White Dragon". Neither "dragon" was intentional … they just kind of happened.
I DO like your paintings. They are the kind that one could put up on their wall and sit and stare at them and allow their imagination to create different interpretations and visualizations and fantasies.
and allow their imagination to create different interpretations and visualizations and fantasies.
That they indeed do! I so enjoy letting my imagination mentally allow me to see, hear and go places I have never thought of before. They have an other worldly essence about them. And that only adds to their actual beauty.
Abstract expressionist imagery is often referred to as “polyreferential,” in that despite its “non-representational” basis, viewers often find “content” they can reference. I’m having a great time doing these. I have a particular outcome in mind … a compositional objective, but, even though I haven’t been able to achieve it, the “failures” along the way are pretty nice nevertheless. I appreciate all input.
And it shows, Mac. I am having a great time with your sharing them with us to enjoy. In my view, it is the failures that helps us make the successes so much better. And I can see this in your paintings. You put a lot of yourself and your feelings into your paintings, and it improves with each new artwork.
I really enjoy how they spark my own imagination. So please continue sharing your new artwork with us to enjoy as well. (smile)
I guess painters, particularly if they are perfectionists, do feel that some of their creations are failures, but others may not feel that way about them.
Went out tonight to take a photo of this New Year decoration just outside the main door to my apartment building. As I said above, the 4 Chinese symbols stand for the words (pronounced as) Shien Yin Quai Loh , which translates to Happy New Year.
Here is an old one that some of our new members might not have seen before, and I hope those who may have seen it before will enjoy seeing it again.....
The photo of your painting over the sofa is IMO perfection. The contrast of a painting of colour positioned on a background of totally neutral greyness being a paragon of arrangement and contrast - modern art accompanying a modern sofa.
At first glance what I interpreted the painting to be was a huge wave breaking.
Is this a “Sacred Conversation with the Great Spirit”?
There was such a theme in Italian Renaissance painting. It’s an interesting study to note recurring themes in Art; humanity has eternally found the need to so express certain articles of faith almost as if to assure itself that faith requires recurring tribute lest it not be reliable when called upon in bad times.
Is this a “Sacred Conversation with the Great Spirit”?
It is a very similar theme, Mac. Native Americans are very Spiritual, and much of their lives revolve around their religious beliefs and Tribal traditions.
Happy New Year, be safe and well and kind to one another.
Happy New Year to you and thank you so much for sponsoring my favorite column on NT!
Happy New Year Mac..I do hope Mrs Mac is going well and we will see what 2021 brings us. The Federal government here has just put a myeloma drug on the PBS. Katie Porter is awesome ! She has no fear.
I couldn't agree more. She is fantastic.
I have a cousin who also has multiple myeloma, and he was a subject in some of the trials for daratumumab. His drug regimen has him reaching his out-of-pocket max for the year by the end of January every year. It's insane.
Happy New Year to you as well, Mac. Very beautiful and profound images, thank you for sharing them with us.
A happy HEALTHY and prosperous New Year to you and your wife, A.Mac. - I appreciate everything you have done, and everything you do. You are the best.
Happy New Year to you AMac!!!
Same to you and great to see you after the passage of time; please consider being with us regularly.
At Keukenhof Gardens, The Netherlands
Happy New Year to everyone. Let's hope that 2021 is a MUCH better year.

We'll keep the showers away
And if I kiss you, in the garden
In the moonlight, will you pardon me?

Happy New Year Ender.
The same to you Ender. I hope the new year will bring you much happiness and many Blessings.
I couldn't resist....

OMG....Buzz, that is so...old, LOL!!! But, Tiny Tim was very famous for some time, in spite of the fact that he was sort of quirky.
Thanks for the memory.
Mino-oshki-biboon indinawe maaganidog niijiis. Happy New Year all my relations and friends.
Very cool, Kavika. Happy New Year to you niijii!
Happy New Year to you shona. I hope your 2021 is a great year for you and all of Australia.
Happy New Year to you as well Kavika. That is an awesome jacket! Just beautiful!
Thanks Raven, it's really quite beautiful.
That is very cool. The design has a dutch quality, interesting.
Is that yours? Is it hand-painted? I would want to wear that myself. After all, you've seen the jacket I always wear.
Happy New year all !
Time to kick the baby into 2021...
Ouch!
Just trying to get 2021 rolling. Haha
We wouldn't boot anyone for that.
Morning. Well 2021 is already here. It is a grey and cool morning not had much of a summer so far. Happy New Year to you all across the sea. I hope you stay well and stay safe. What ever 2021 has install for us with courage grace and determination we will meet it head on. Roll on 2021.
Very well said, shona. I am hoping that 2021 brings a much better year, one that sees our world healing and renewing our faith and trust in one another.
And a very Happy New Year to you and yours.
Happy 2021 in the land down under.
Happy New Year to you too. Hope it is a good one and stay safe where ever you are....
Thanks! I'm at home (Haha). L.A., CA
Here's to better, greater, days ahead for the nation, the world, and all of us. Can we re-imagine kindness to one another all over again?
Very nice sentiments CB.
I hope you have a great 2021!
Thank you, G'! Much of that to all of us!
Good to see you! Happy New Year, be safe, stay well.
Happy New Year A. Macarthur! You do the same!
Given how 2020 started versus how it's ending, I have absolutely no intention of celebrating the beginning of a new year that could be worse. However I have no qualms about marking the occasion with a good drunk. I hope everyone has a much better New Year.
Nice photo.
Thanks
Drink up but stay safe while doing so; good to see you and have a safe and healthy 2021.
A very Happy New Year to one and all......may the New Year bring you peace, good health, and many Blessings.
I hope you have a truly wonderful 2021 Raven Wing.
Thank you G, and the same to you and yours.
Thanks!
Going to do a face time with my grandkids … which seems to be a currently viable alternative to past New Years Eves. I'll post at least one more image later tonight to take us into Friday.
All I have as far as recent photos are work projects. This is a client's window I did a few weeks ago.
Happy New Year NT'ers !!!
All you have is more than enough!

Both are beautiful birds, Mac, and perfect to see us into the new year. I really do miss my Humming Birds that used to hang out at my house.
Awesome clarity, Mac.
Captions for the two bird photos.
Top one: Oh, I'm sorry. Did that land on your head?
Bottom one. You KNOW that's not the brand I like.
Let me be among the first to wish all of you a happy new year and thank you for making our Group so thoughtful and kind.
The same to you and all your family, Mac. And thank you very much for hosting this wonderful and very enjoyable group where we can share our artwork, photos and very enjoyable stories, as well as informative conversations.
May the new year bring you peace, good health, and many good Blessings.
We are all truly inspired by your impressively splendid artistry, Mac.
Everyone here fervently hopes that you and your wife and your family have the best possible 2021.
No....thank you Mac...your photos and stories that go with them is what keeps us sane at times. The world of virus and US politics is more than a Koala can bare at times...The enjoyment you bring to others is truly inspirational...thank you ..

A truly beautiful image, and an equally beautiful saying. Thank you very much Mac.
One must surely be bolder
To post a poem about a boulder
Whether or not it is nice
At least it will suffice.
I think it rocks!
Especially if one is stoned.
Gee a logical response.
We shouldn't quibble about a pebble.
It's no one's FAULT.
I wouldn't take that for granite.
No schist!
That makes me want to get high with a little help from my friends (sung in my best Joe Cocker gravely voice).
All these puns are great individually, but they’re even better in aggregate.
Sort of like a conglomerate.
One for New Years Day.......
Daughter of the Moon, Nokomis
Nokomis is the name of Nanabozho 's grandmother in the Ojibwe traditional stories and was the name of Hiawatha 's grandmother in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow 's poem, The Song of Hiawatha , which is a re-telling of the Nanabozho stories. Nokomis is an important character in the poem, mentioned in the familiar lines:
By the shores of Gitche Gumee , By the shining Big-Sea-Water Stood the wigwam of Nokomis Daughter of the moon Nokomis. You know me, RW … if there's an iconographic reference out there, I cannot resist!
Indeed I do know that, Mac, and I do love it. I learn a lot from you and your various teachings and references, and I am sure I am not the only one. So I very much look forward to your sharing them with us here.

Happy New Year Mac. I would like to thank you for bringing us all this wonderful artwork, by you and our members during the year.
May next year be much better!
More flowers from Keukenhof Gardens for New Year's Day.
Very nice. However I can't post Tiny Tim singing "Tiptoe Through the Tulipa" for this one like I did for your other one.
This is the first song that came to mind. From your hippie days (and mine):
I just realized that it's from YouTube so you can't see it. Can you see the title?
Buzz...see if you can open/see this wmv....
Can't find the Cowsills here, only this"
.
Yes, it works but it stops and starts, stops and starts. I will allow it to play through although it may take a half hour or more, and then see if I start back at the begining if it will play through smoothly.
That did work. As long as I catch it just before the end and start it again it plays smoothly. So your system does work for me.
Good Buzz. Now, here is an MP4 conversion of the YouTube video, so see if you can open it and see the video.
Let me know if it works for you. If so, that will give us two ways to deal with the YouTubes.
Works exactly the same as the first way. I think I've had enough of Tiny Tim now for the next half century.
Thank you for the follow-up, Buzz. I know now that I have a converter for YouTube videos to both formats that you can open and see.
I hear that! I had to play that video when converting the YouTubes to make sure the converted formats were going to work as needed. I'll be hearing Tip Toeing Through The Tulips in my sleep for a while now. (Ugh!)
Thankfully we won the battle of the conversions.
Love the fancy dressed flowers in this photo, G. Really beautiful.
Thanks Raven Wing
Playing with my new superzoom camera after a New Year's Eve ice storm in the Ozarks:
That was hand-held from about 80 feet away. It should be clearer, but I didn't realize at the time that I only had it set on half resolution. Oh well, I'm an amateur. I'll get better.
Happy New Year everyone!
That is an amazing photo.
Thanks G².
You got the shot and when it comes to photographing birds, getting the shot, the keeper shot that is, often means deleting way more than one keeps. I include myself in that demographic.
Thank you for sharing your photo and please do so regularly.
That is a great photo - one of the best examples of the use of a natural, not edited, contrast I have ever seen .
That's a great photo of the Cardinal among the ice covered branches of the tree. I bet his little feet were freezing against that ice. Makes me shiver just to look at it.
The cardinal seems to be implying that this weather is for the birds.

WoW! That is a very lovely photo, Mac. And very apropos for your comment as well.
Morning. Safe travels....
That scenery is on your way to the lake? One would expect to see a farmer holding a pitchfork in front. Grant Wood gothic?
It's a scene from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Dutch country.
Here is a creation for the first Saturday of 2021.....
Morning. Brilliant Raven...
Thank you very much shona. I'm glad you like it.
What are the feathers hanging from in the bottom right. I have feathers hanging like that from my dreamcatcher.
They are feathers that are used to decorate his shield, to signify the many battles he has been in and in which he took lives.
Ah yes, his shield. He is sitting appearing to be in deep emotion - what do you interpret his expression to signify?
That he is battle weary Warrior. He is kneeling before the Creator to give him strength to save as many lives as he can. The Eagle above him is his sacred Spirit Guide, to help give him the courage to fight the battles that must yet be fought.

This photo was taken on the Red Lake Rez in northern MN on December 3rd of this year. The Photographer was Ed Jourdain.
This is another photo of his entitled, ''Winter Sunset'' Red Lake MN. Photo was take on December 22, 2020.
Absolutely beautiful. He is a terrific photographer.
I'm unable to open either photo.
Can you see them now Buzz?
2 great photos. Outside of an aviary, I've never seen an eagle.
Beautiful photos Kavika. Thank you for sharing them with us. The 'sunset' is very enchanting.
What a great photo.
14 years ago I visited Shaolin Temple, the birthplace of Kung Fu (not Kung Flu, Mr. Trump) where I saw this wall:

We are looking good!
My sincere thanks to you all.
One more to take us into Sunday of the New Year...
A face framed by spiritual images (I see a bird across the forehead) and flowing garments (?) A visual feast.
Thanks Buzz, I enjoy your critic of the image. She is a Mystic Shaman, one who engages in the Spirit world.
Went out tonight to take a photo of this New Year decoration just outside the main door to my apartment building. As I said above, the 4 Chinese symbols stand for the words (pronounced as) Shien Yin Quai Loh , which translates to Happy New Year.
Really beautiful Buzz. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Thanks for that Buzz...Looks absolutely brilliant and very nice to have that at the front door of your apartment..
Here is an old one that some of our new members might not have seen before, and I hope those who may have seen it before will enjoy seeing it again.....
Absolutely.
Thanks Buzz.
