Not the Best Day Today; Creative Arts Three-Day Weekend
Had to take my wife to the hospital today due to respiratory side effects of her chemotherapy. Hoping she'll be home tomorrow.
In the meanwhile, let me divert my attentions by posting new work.

great fall colors on the art pieces too ...
Many prayers for your wife, Mac. And may the Greater grant her a return to good health.
Arvo Raven... thought of you the other day and hoped you are doing well..
Thank you, shona. I am doing better now.
That's great to hear..
All of your new artwork are both amazing and beautiful. .Very well done!
I'm assuming your comment is about A. Mac's really interesting new artwork, but thanks anyways!
Sending good thoughts out to Mrs Mac & AMac.

that shot radiates cold. I know it isn't with a closer look at the foliage, but brrrr ....
Looks friggin freezing to me..
a brandy and a blankey ...
Wonderful photo. The effect of using B&W IMO makes it even better.
Prayers for you and your wife.
Thank you.
hoping for good recovery and progress
Thank you.
Best wishes to Mrs Mac.
Thank you.
Hope your wife will be home again soon and as comfortable as possible - I can't imagine the pain you have been experiencing because of her illness.
And thank you for guiding others to the article of beautiful photos of nature that I had posted.
As for the images you posted, you could be giving Jackson Pollock a run for his money.
And in a weak attempt to compete with your swirly images....
Absolutely!
Hello Raven Wing, great to see you.
Thank you, Mac. (smile)
Here's MY attempt to do a Jackson Pollock:
Afternoon...just letting you know I am thinking of Mrs Mac and yourself across the sea..
Sounds like Mrs Mac is on a harder road than myself and hope she is feeling better soon...there are bumps along the way, no road is ever smooth but with grace and courage we somehow manage to get through...
Please let Mrs Mac know I am wishing her well...
The rose is called Peace.. not my photo..
Thanks Shona; hopefully some adjustments in my wife’s chemo and/or other medications can prevent such reoccurrences.
Arvo...I think I must be one of the fortunate ones..just clicked over 2 years off all medications and never had any side effects of chemo...other than hair falling out...
Finally the weather is starting to warm up again and that strong feeling of me wanting to get into the sea again has returned...
Maybe it is my saving grace, I am not sure, but I will go with the flow..
Just have to watch out for Sammy the elephant seal..he is sloshing around in the harbour at the moment here..😬
crickey, without those people in the background I wouldn't be as impressed with his size ...
Mr Blubber is a big boy and he hasn't finished growing yet..he has been coming here for a few years but stacked on the weight this year..
This is one fully grown down Antarctica..
You don't mess with Mr Blubber.. not my photo you wouldn't see me for dust...
the last time somebody in oz threw one of those steaks on the barby, the bush caught fire ...
Arvo..sigh stupid day light saving has started here..I hate it..feels like morning tea time and it's lunch time already..
Yes throw Mr Blubber on the Barbie he would certainly create one heck of a grease spot..
Half the country would go up with him on it.. would you like fries with that..
We have about a month to go. I hate it, too. We lose all evening sunlight after work - it's already dark when I shut the office door behind me. Depressing.
I wish it would go the other way, add time in the evening.
Hear, hear!
I get a bit depressed when it gets dark that soon. Like all I want to do is go home, put on my pajamas, and sit in my recliner being dreary. I imagine a lot people are a bit prone to seasonal affective disorder, and Dayling Savings Time makes it worse.
Evening Devangy...
Well this is excellent news..they are going to use venom from funnel web spiders to treat heart attack victims..
See it can do both things now..kill ya and save ya...and then you will become a full blown Aussie..the mind boggles. Vegemite here you come..
Got to be happy with that..🤣
Sure as heck not my photo I would have put my foot on it..
I missed driving thru (over) the tarantula migration in new mexico by a week this year. I would not fare well against oz spiders. something about my metabolism makes me taste bad to mosquitos, but very tasty to spiders. this is the time of year where the battle over interior domains take place between the arachnids and humans. my war with them just passed 4 decades and they started it. black widows and brown recluses have each given their lives to leave their scars on me.
I can sympathize with your Mrs. I had several side effects from the chemo medication, blistered hands and feet, loss of all fingernails, and blurred vision, etc. They adjusted the chemo medication and frequency of treatments to help deal with such side effects and the rest of the treatments went well.
I hope the adjustments for your Mrs works well for her, and you.
Morning Raven... sounds like you have certainly had a very rough road to go along..
Hope things are going more smoothly for you now and take it easy and slowly..
As I said I was fortunate with my treatment with chemo and for that I am truly grateful..
Thinking of you and wishing you better health in the future..
Hoping for improvement for you (and I think the Antiques Made Daily Sign is still up)
Sorry to hear about such magnitude of side effects and can just hope they are much more bearable now.
To A.Mac and wife,
We post a rose, in hope distract
From pain and worry hard to bear.
Return to wellness that is lacked
Is what we wish because we care.
This IS my photo.
And another rose, by any other name, is still my photo:
I appreciate the gesture and I thank you.
So sorry to hear about Mrs. Mac. Hope that she makes a quick recovery!!
Thank you, Perrie.
A bit of history members may find interesting. Now that I'm in my mid-80s I'll post some info and photos of my history going back to the late 1600. I am a direct descendent of Aissance Little Shell. (Chief Little Shell first hereditary chief of the Little Shell Band of Ojibwe) Born 1757 Turtle Mountain now ND, was killed in battle with the Dakota at Devils Lake, now ND. He had 7 children. He is my 4th great grandfather on my father's side. His son became Chief Little Shell the 2nd followed by his son Chief Little Shell the Third the last of the Hereditary Chiefs.
Known as Chief Ayabe-way-we-tung “He Who Rests On His Way” or Ase-anse
You have a great ancestry, and its greatness is carried on by you. Although I'm older than even you are, I can only go as far back as my paternal great-grandfather.
NOT my photo. LOL
By the way he lived to the age of 96 and was strong and with it until the end, so maybe there's hope for me. I remember him quite well from when I was a kid, dinner at his home, and enjoying listening to him sing, he had a great voice.
I’m sorry to hear about your wife’s illness. You need to stay strong for her and ask for help from others in your lives. I’ve always thought that my cancer is harder on life wife and daughter. They have more to do and worry more about me than I do.
Peace to you and your family.
Prayers and best wishes for Mrs. AMac.
Some of you know my mother passed last week after catching COVID. Services will be next weekend, but I remembered this passage a few days ago...
“She died calmly; and her countenance expressed affection even in death. I need not describe the feelings of those who dearest ties are rent by that most irreparable evil, the void that presents itself to the soul, and the despair that is exhibited on the countenance. It is so long before the mind can persuade itself that she, whom we saw every day, and whose very existence appeared a part of our own, can have departed for ever - that the brightness of a beloved eye can have been extinguished, and the sound of a voice so familiar, and dear to the ear can be hushed, never more to be heard. These are the reflections of the first days; but when the lapse of time proves the reality of the evil then the actual bitterness of grief commences. Yet from whom has not that rude hand rent away some dear connexion; and why should I describe a sorrow which all have felt, and must feel? The time at length arrives when grief is rather an indulgence than a necessity; and the smile that plays upon the lips, although it may be deemed sacrilege, is not banished. My mother was dead, but we had still duties which we ought to preform; we must continue our course with the rest, and learn to think ourselves fortunate, whilst one remains whom the spoiler has not seized.”
― Mary Shelley, Frankenstein
In brighter news my office paludarium is still mostly green. I added an additional rabbit's foot fern (left side) and the asparagus fern (right side) just this morning.
I also rescaped the forest tank. It's still a work in progress though...
getting in closer...
Sorry to hear it.
Sorry for your loss. You seem to have planted a jungle in your office paludarium (a word I never knew before). Will you be able to see the fish?
Online definition:
Basically there are terrariums, vivariums, paludariums, ripariums, and aquariums. They tend to overlap in areas... but for today think of paludariums as a box with a land area and water area. The design of mine is unique as the 'land area' is just a wet wall where the return pump spills water & fog down the back side.
Through the front glass...
Seems like a perfect venue for salamanders. I used to keep some little orange ones myself, but not as successfully as goldfish, and that wasn't a success either so apparenttly xxxxariums wasn't my thing.
Morning..did you say aquarium??
Keep saying you need something dangerous and found just the thing..
Your office would love it...
Now that's a happy snappy..
Not my photo never in a pink fit..
Someday I'll have some newts, but not quite yet.
I wish you and your family lasting Peace.
my sincerest condolences.
I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. RIP.
The tanks look beautiful.
Sorry for your loss. Condolences to you and your family.
Sorry for your loss, evilone.
Very sorry to hear about your mom.
So very sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother.
Sorry Mac
Thank you Vic; I appreciate your kindness.
Best to you and yours. Rapid recovery!!
Thank you Jim; greatly appreciated.
I hope your wife is feeling better AMac. The main thing is to keep going forward.
Thank you John.
I hope Mrs. Mac is feeling better soon.
Thank you; adjustments are being made to her chemotherapy and other medications.
Since it is fall except for Florida here are a few photos from last year in north Georgia.
Two PERFECT fall images!
Morning...have to admit that is one thing you mob do so well..
Autumn colours on the trees always look so spectacular over there..
Our eucalypts are non deciduous and so we are green all year round.. it's not a bad thing is some ways winter is always brighter and not so depressing etc..
But the colours of Autumn in America and Canada is really a sight to behold...
Memories of Ontario, but just memories. No frost where I am now, and only the leaves of some trees turn yellow or brown. When I was farther north, in Zhengzhou, red and purple were not uncommon. Like so...
Those are absolutely great fall photos. I used to sit next to a stream like that top one for hours, just meditating.
Best wishes and positive thoughts for you and Mrs. Mac.
Thank you.
I wish your wife a speedy and successful recovery, Amac.
I saw this painting of Abraham Lincoln in an antique store the other day. No hat, no beard - not a side of him you see often.
I was just thinking, there are, and were, more cars named after Indian Chiefs than American Presidents.
New work.

cool.
Yet another feast for the imagination.
Outstanding participation this week; thanks to all, especially for the good wishes for my wife
