They are all beautifully done Mac. Sepia is a truly enhancing color. What caught my eye and did not want to let go is the brilliant colored artwork at the top. It made my feet want to dance!
Thanks, AMac. Have you seen the new changes that came out in Adobe Camera Raw yesterday? At first I was like, "Oh man I'm gonna hate this." But after using it for a couple of minutes it was more like,"Oh this is nice!"
I have the Adobe Creative Suite subscription paid for by my employer. When I open a photo using Bridge it first Opens in Adobe Camera Raw and then Photoshop. Inside Photoshop I can also use Adobe Camera Raw under Filters. I believe it comes with any full version of Photoshop as a free plug-in.
Don't know why, but, dragon flies have always amazed me. I love to watch them hovering around above the reeds and water of a lake or pond, with the early morning sun shimmering on their outstretched wings. It's just mesmerizing to watch them. And then suddenly some frog or fish will zap them up our of nowhere. Fascinating.
My Father used to always tease me when we went fishing. He'd say, "The only reason you like to come fishing is to watch the bugs". My answer was always, "Well, I can't catch the fish, so I might as well have fun watching the bugs."
Hahaha! Yeah. Speaking of that, my Father once tried to get me to catch one of the dragon flies for him to use as bait. "No way", says I. "The fish are good enough at catching them on their own. But, you can catch one and try it."
Sailboat races from two years ago. This week I learned how to use a gradient map to color tone an image. This really brought out the details in the clouds.
Really beautiful, EG. The variants in the colors in the clouds does indeed make them look much more real looking, I can feel their moisture in the air as if I was sitting on the beach watching the races.
The Susan's are indeed beautiful. And that buzzy bee looks like it is having a ball gleaning the goodies from the flowers. I would love to taste the honey from it's gatherings.
Wow! That is a real beauty Kavika. I loved watching the sunsets from San Sanibel Island when I visited my friends in Ft. Myers. They are truly inspirational. I will likely never get to visit there again at this point, but, pictures like this bring back the feeling of being transported back in time.
The beauty of the high desert in California. Lone Pine CA.
This is another view of Lone Pine. This side of Lone Pine isn't nearly as beautiful. It's also known as Manzanar, the Japanese internment camp.
A number of years ago I stood before this monument with a friend. That moment and the few sentences between us formed a bond that is as close as two brothers.
Make current photos appear to be a century old by desaturating the colour, sepia toning, antiquing the image and using an antique frame. These photos have all been taken with my digital camera here in China, and all were originally in colour.
Of course if doing this is one's intent, it would be oxymoronic for it to be of a subject that could only be current, such as a brand new Cadillac.
Photoscape. It was a free program that I can no longer use, because I had to load Windows 10 when my computer broke down not long ago, and the program only worked up to Windows 7. The Photoscape that works on W 10 is so complicated I can't get into it, besides the fact that its free program "forces" a user to upgrade to its costly level - the sneaky bastards.

Buzz, if you go to Control Panel, one of the choices is "Programs". If you click on that, it brings you to a list called "Programs and Features". One of the choices in that is "Run Programs Made for Previous "Versions of Windows". Clicking that takes you to a Troubleshooter. Follow the choices on that and it will cause the old program to run in what is known as Compatibility Mode. I've had it work quite well with a couple of older programs. Works well with programs designed for Windows 7 and some designed for XP; not so much with 98 or earlier.
Okay, went to Control Panel, Programs, Run Programs Made for Previous "Versions of Windows", but then Photoscape does not show up in the choice list, to I try to add the download "PhotoscapeSetup_V3-7.exe.opdownload" but although when I open my downloads normally that program is there, but when I open downloads in sequence to search and post that program, it isn't on the list, and if I try to enter it manually, it will not advance.
Thanks Buzz. You mentioned that program here once before and I downloaded a copy. I just have not had time to do anything much with it yet. But, your images really perk my interest.
When I get to feeling better I will check it out more.
That's a really good closeup of that buzzy. I used to be a beekeeper for several years. They are really some very interesting creatures. I loved working with them.
That buzzy has really been collecting the pollen. I remember seeing bees that were so laden with pollen that they could hardly still fly. Great closeup.
Post what you care to share … pictures, poetry, commentary …
I just love the photo of the doe and fawn.
Well done.

My favorite photo of yours. Fawn in a tub.
A/noon...Just gorgeous....

Well....Friday is finally here. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.
And...here is a newbie creation to share.
Something about that picture made me think of this old cowboy song.
Looking Back to See
(Jim Ed Brown)
If you were looking back to see
If I was looking back to see
If you were looking back at me
You were cute as you could be
Standing looking back at me
And it was plain to see
That I'd enjoy your company
One Sunday afternoon
As I was ridin' down the street
I met a cute little girl
All dressed up so sweet
And the way that she was stacked
I wish I'd've had a Cadillac
For who would notice me
Just drivin' this model T
I was looking back to see
If you were looking back to see
If I was looking back to see
If you were looking back at me
You were cute as you could be
Standing looking back at me
And it was plain to see
That I'd enjoy your company
Thank you Buzz. That is a very good song, and does in some way relate to the image.
Perfection!
beautiful
Thank you Mac.
Thanks dev.
Another week coming to an end... A dragon fly and a fly catcher.
Creative Arts THURSDAY … FLY-DAY.
Nice work, EG
Thanks, AMac. Have you seen the new changes that came out in Adobe Camera Raw yesterday? At first I was like, "Oh man I'm gonna hate this." But after using it for a couple of minutes it was more like,"Oh this is nice!"
Is that part of Adobe Photoshop full version, Elements or which version?
I have the Adobe Creative Suite subscription paid for by my employer. When I open a photo using Bridge it first Opens in Adobe Camera Raw and then Photoshop. Inside Photoshop I can also use Adobe Camera Raw under Filters. I believe it comes with any full version of Photoshop as a free plug-in.
Thanks for the info.

Looks like a painting. Very nice.
Check some of the works of Whistler!
Exceptional !

Very well done!
Black eyed Susans having a great year,
Morning sun, Susans seeded in a pot from last years mound in the background.
Mound of black eyed susans in the afternoon sun
A visitor.
{from my damned cell phone}
Nice.
LOL Following the frames down was like watching a movie.

Florida sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. Pre pandemic.
Beautiful shot !

Thank you. (smile)
I'm happy that you enjoyed it and it reminded you of good times.
Where is everyone?
Well, I was asleep.
If anyone wants to learn a bit more about using sepia, this short treatise is posted on the "Pages" of this group:
A little tar (?) spill on the sidewalk.
Sometimes the most ordinary everyday things can be thought of as works of art.
I agree !
Jackson Pollack or a Japanese Master could not have done better! It has a real anthropomorphic look!
Ha Ha, it's like Jackson Pollack with a lot of restraint !
Think of it as the first drip of a drip painting.
A bit of Picasso on the sidewalk maybe?
The photo is entitled, ''aw shit''
Nahhh. That would be just another days fishing in Australia...
Or off the coast of northern California.
LOL. How fast can you kayak?
The theme from Jaws suddenly comes to mind......
Yeppers....that be deh one. Makes MY jaws hurt just thinking about it.

Wow, good job Buzz.
Very nice !
Very, very nicely done, Buzz. What program did you use to achieve that finish?
Photoscape. It was a free program that I can no longer use, because I had to load Windows 10 when my computer broke down not long ago, and the program only worked up to Windows 7. Extraordinarily effective, Buzz, so much so I have to restrain myself from restoring them!
LOL. Thanks for the uniquely crafted compliment. But no need because I COULD post the originals.
Awww...come on Buzz. Don't take the fun away from Mac. He would really like to restore them for the fun of it.
The more I see of these great photos, the more I am impressed by them, and your very awesome work.
Thank you, RW. The feeling is mutual.
Well....with the weekend just ahead, time to share....
Your creativity knows no bounds - that's a really interesting application of angles and frame.
Thank you Buzz. That one really took a lot of work to get it to achieve what I wanted. I had to start over so many times I was doing it in my sleep.
For those following the new dog Kobe. We've had him now for 6 weeks, I think.
I didn't take the picture below - he was laying in my lap as usual though...
Have a great weekend everyone! See you on the other side...
LOL. There is an NT member who might not appreciate that "tacos" thing.
This comes from my gf's Facebook post. She is not a NT member or know anyone on NT. My apologies to anyone who finds my dinner menu inappropriate.

Since tomorrow is Father's Day, here is a little something to wish all the Fathers here on NT a very wonderful day.
Timely and effective. I, being a father, thank you for your good wishes.
You're very welcome, Buzz. I hope your Father's Day will be most enjoyable.
Hope all are having a great day!
cool. very partial to raptors.
Thanks dev. I'm very glad you like it.
Just keeping it going. I call this one "Floating a Loan"
