MOVIE QUIZ - MUSICALS
MOVIE QUIZ - MUSICALS
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE , READ WHAT IS BELOW IN ORDER TO GET A BETTER SCORE. I HAVE DECIDED TO BE MUCH MORE LENIENT IN MY SCORING AND HAVE DONE AWAY WITH MANY OF THE RULES. .
This time, besides the two image clues, the third clue is that the movie must be a Musical , although it could be combined with another genre like comedy, drama, or even western. None of the movies are TOO old, and all of them appear on Best Movie Musicals lists. This quiz should be easy, because ALL of the questions can be identified by the clues without even having to see the movies. In some cases the answer is implicit from just the first clue, so just identifying the images will tell you the title of the movie. Only two or three of the questions were included in previous quizzes, but even if so I tried not to use the same image clues, and as usual I don't think any of the image clues are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your movie memory, web searching using web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating, but once you think you know the answer there is nothing wrong with making sure it is correct.
THE RULES
As I was with the last couple of quizzes, I'm being much more lenient and you will not lose score for not capitalizing or using proper punctuation or adding an extraneous or leaving off a "the" or "A" or punctuation, but I will have to make a decision between your just naming what the clues are and the actual movie name. Just identifying what the images are and writing down those words does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie. The images should be a CLUE to the ACTUAL name of the movie and you should check to make sure it is the name of a movie. Remakes of original movies with the same name will be acceptable. If you name movies that I feel the clues identify as well or better than the ones I used, I will accept them as well. TV programs and TV series such as West Wing are not answers, but I will accept TV movies like QB VII (which is an adaptation of a novel) or some miniseries if they are an adaptation of a novel that is too long for one showing and are spread out, like the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
There are some hard ones to guess, and also some very easy ones, so give it a try and NAME THESE MOVIES.
Please number your answers the same as the images.

I think it's about time that I posted an EASY quiz. It's quite possible to get a perfect score on this quiz without having seen ANY of the movies. Let's see how many 100% scores we can get on this one. READ THE WHOLE INTRODUCTION BEFORE YOU TRY. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER...
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
all right, working on them
I figured out a few already
Threre's some interesting ones there, not your run of the mill titles... only one is giving me problems....
I gave a few that I think I have the answers to, but, not sure yet. Gotta think them over for a bit.
You know......sounds like......but....then it could be....
Three members have submitted their answers so far and the same question has eluded all three, but each of the other questions have been answered by some one or other of them.
Why isn't Armageddon classified as a musical? I mean, there's a lot of music in it and almost half the cast sings in it.. to me that means it should be classified as a musical...
LOL. Who knows? I will reveal, however, that Armageddon is NOT one of the movies to be identified on this quiz.
NOTICE TO PARTICIPANTS: I have decided that the clues for number 18 have simply been too difficult so I have replaced them with clues for a different movie. It is the only question that so far nobody has been able to answer. Those who have already sent me their answers are now being notified that they can guess the new movie and if successful their scores will be increased.
So far, the scores on this quiz have been very high, which is no surprise to me because I purposely did not make it a difficult quiz hoping to increase the participation, but because of that it does surprise me that so far, having been up for 3 whole days, only 7 members have given it a try. Now that I think of it, maybe, judging from the general tone of comments on thenewstalkers, the quiz wasn't sufficiently argumentative.
I wonder if there is a way to come up with a "Left/Right" quiz..... Bet you would get a lot of action on that one... {chuckle}
LOL I bet that if I posted a quiz with movies about politics it could, since it's the major topic on this site.
The problem would be finding movies that are actually unbiased movies about politics, we have "The Best Man" and "The Candidate" but what else is there...
Well, if I'm going to do one on politics, I'm not going to start naming titles here on the Front Page. Maybe now I'll do foreign movies next - lots of movies have come out of the UK, Italy, France, etc.
There aren't enough unbiased ones to do a 20 question quiz, not enough to do a ten question quiz...so posting the two I could find really doesn't matter does it..
Well I actually found 7-8, if you count the comedies....
I've already decided on the next quiz and made up my list of 20 movies. There are lots of good British movies so that's what I'm doing next. I might even have included a few biased movies in the bunch.
{chuckle} If you MUST....
NOTICE TO PARTICIPANTS: This quiz will be closed in about 22 hours from now, i.e, if you are in North America, Monday morning.
I will try to get mine in this evening
The quiz is now closed. Eleven members participated, yet nobody got a 100% perfect 20 score, and this has never happened before and I'm sure it will never happen again, but 5 members tied for first place, all with a score of 19 out of 20. The first place winners are Veronica, Snuffy, Nowhere Man, Jasper and Perrie. Scoring second is MsAubrey with 18, and Vic Eldred placed third with 17. Honourable Mention goes to Kathleen with 16. Everyone who played got at least a passing grade of 50%, For those who didn't submit answers to this quiz, here they are....
The next quiz, which I will be posting momentarily, will be British movies rather than Hollywood ones, but I'll bet most of them, if not all, will be familiar to most of you.
My thanks to all who participated.
A new quiz is posted now - British movies.
