This movie looks great and I'm hoping it will be worth seeing in a theater (pandemic permitting), but this is also one of those types of movies I love to collect on physical media. I'll probably pick this on when it comes out on 4K Bluray disk. I have 2 subwoofers on my 7.2.2 digital surround sound system and a new 55" 4K TV that I love to watch these movies on.
Since you have a home movie theater I'm hoping that you'll be serving hot buttered popcorn when I join you to watch this.
Of course, and with real butter. Any preference on a beverage?
Blackwater medicine (coffee)
I gots lots of that! I don't function without a full pot of coffee in the morning.
OK, it's a go then.
This looks like a great movie! I want to rent it when it comes available on Prime.
Speaking of popcorn...I really want a movie theater popcorn machine
Turnaround on movies from theater to digital download is 45 to 60 days. So sometime in May or June.
I use a whirley-pop popcorn pan on the stove for my popcorn. It was a Christmas gift from my son many, years ago and still makes great popcorn.
I had one of those but it was cheap aluminum and burnt the popcorn. We now have an electric popcorn maker that works very well.
On the fence with this one - not a fan of a lot of beheadings, but most likely my sister will want to see it so I will end up in the theater.
This may be based on a Norse legend composed by Saxo Grammaticus in Latin around 1200 AD - Gesta Danorum, or History of the Danes. This was thought to maybe be the inspiration for Shakespeare's Hamlet. The Gesta Danorum is 16 books in total and tells a story of the rise and fall of the great rulers of Denmark.
The tale of Amleth is told in books 3 and 4 where King Rorik places his trust in two brothers, Orvendil and Fengi. The brothers are setup to rule over Jutland, and Orvendil weds the king's beautiful daughter, Geruth. They have a son, Amleth. But Fengi, lusting after Orvendil's new bride and longing to become the sole ruler of Jutland, kills his brother, marries Geruth, and declares himself king over the land. Amleth is desperately afraid, and feigns madness to keep from getting murdered. He plans revenge against his uncle and becomes the new and rightful king of Jutland.
Just watched the trailer - lots of violence, so I guess it'll be popular. When I saw the quotation for the article:
Revenge themes have been very popular in literature and by extension in theater & cinema. As I posted above it looks to have taken inspiration from the same Danish legend that inspired Hamlet.
