MOVIE QUIZ - GREGORY PECK FILMS
MOVIE QUIZ - GREGORY PECK FILMS
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE, READ WHAT IS BELOW IN ORDER TO GET A BETTER SCORE. I HAVE DECIDED TO BE MUCH MORE LENIENT IN MY SCORING AND HAVE DONE AWAY WITH MANY OF THE RULES. .
For this quiz, besides the two image clues, the third clue is that the movie MUST be one in which Gregory Peck acted, and it could be any genre. Since Peck acted in no more than around 70 movies this should be an easy quiz to zero in on the answers. None of the movies are TOO old. I have only seen half of these movies myself, so for a lot of them just identifying the clue images should give you a good idea what the movie is, but as always, some clues are of an item or scenario that is a primary object in or otherwise indicative of or important to the plot and you will probably have to have seen the movie to identify it. Some of the movies were included in previous quizzes, but even if so I tried not to use the same image clues, and as usual I don't think any of the image clues are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your movie memory, web searching using web programs that identify movies from naming the clues is cheating, but once you think you know the answer I recommend that you check to make sure it is correct. Participants keep losing points because they fail to do that.
THE RULES
I am being much more lenient and you will not lose score for not capitalizing or using proper punctuation or adding an extraneous or leaving off a "the" or "A", but I may have to make a decision between you're just naming what the clues are and the actual movie name. Just identifying the images does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie, which is why I recommend that you check to make sure the name is correct, because the images may only be a CLUE to the ACTUAL name of the movie. Remakes of original movies with the same name will be acceptable. As well, I previously used clues of a star and a war scene and any Star Wars movie was correct, and likewise for Robin Hood where my clues were a golden arrow and an image of King Richard the Lion Hearted, in which case any Robin Hood movie was okay. If you name movies that I feel the clues identify as well or better than the ones I used, I have been accepting them as good answers as well, although in the case of a specific actor quiz like this one I don't think that will happen. TV programs and TV series such as West Wing are not answers, but I will accept TV movies like QB VII (which is an adaptation of a novel) or some miniseries if they are an adaptation of a novel that is too long for one showing and are spread out, like the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
There are some hard ones to guess, and also some very easy ones, so give it a try and NAME THESE MOVIES.

I chose that particular picture of Gregory Peck for under the title because I LOVE that Bentley he's leaning on.
Since I no longer have access to IMDb, which I need to run genre quizzes, I think I'll try doing quizzes restricted to certain actors/actresses like this one for a while. Let's see how this one works out.
There are changes in the introduction because of this new quiz method, so please read the introduction info and the rules, then, as always, please remember...

I might know a few
Nobody has given it a try yet. I'm curious to see how this new concept works out.
5 so far
but there's so much football on Buzz.
Maybe tomorrow if work is slow, lol
Did you mean you knew 5 of the movies so far, or is it a reply to my comment just before yours because in fact at this point in time 5 members have sent in their answers. It should be encouraging for all to know that the lowest score among them was 14 and 70% is nothing to sneeze at.
my list is submitted
[REMOVED, Please do not give away clues]

Sorry 'bout that - thought it was an OK question
No serious harm done, but next time I would appreciate it if you would read the large font bolded warning I post in two colours on the top of the quiz and in the first comment. You're not the first person who has failed to realize that they could be spoiling the quiz for everyone else, and, unfortunately I don't believe will be the last.
(self-deleted since unnecessary)
Just sent you a PM. Do not think quiz was affected or that anything improper was intended, just did not want comments that might give something away,
The movie quizzes are fun
Thank you, Charger, for your quick action when the postings occurred, and for your information. Now that I know what was posted I can say that no answers for the quiz were exposed, although it reduced the total of Peck's work from which choices were to be made. What happened will require me to expand the warning to include the posting of any movie names, alternative clues or hints, although I have no way to make anyone read it except to post it in flashing neon lights and I wonder if even that will work.
THIS QUIZ WILL BE CLOSED TWO DAYS FROM NOW. Anyone still intending to submit their answers should consider doing so soon.
I'll get busy with it
Fun Fact - Gregory Peck was the model for the hunter in Bambi.....
Ok, ok.. I made that up. Just trying to keep this on the front-page so more people see it. Come on in guys, the quiz is fun...
LOL. Just to let everyone know, Bambi is NOT one of the quiz answers.
Well Damn..... Sidney Poitier has died.
Buzz, perhaps the next subject?
I just saw that - a real loss as far as I'm concerned and to many MANY others. I intend to post an article about him. He did not act in enough movies for a quiz. However I do intend to combine two famous actors for my next quiz - Audrey Hepburn and Paul Newman. I'll give this concept one more try with those two, but no more if not many try it, since only 7 members have sent their answers for this Gregory Peck one.
Sent my answers in
You sure did. Now we are eight.
(In the original The Magnificent Seven, when Chico (Horst Buchaltz), standing up in the village church steeple, screamed at the timid hiding villagers that they were chickens, and asking what kind of welcome were they giving to "my compadres and I", Chris (Yul Brynner) said "Now we are seven."
And now we are nine. One day left before closing time.
The week is up, and so this quiz is now closed. Nine members played and five got perfect 20 out of 20 scores, which tells me that either participants are becoming movie experts or I'm making the quizzes too easy. Next one may be a little harder. The five winners, in the order in which they submitted their answers are Veronica, Kathleen, Split Personality, Charger 383 and Nowhere Man. In second place with 19 is Perrie, and Snuffy came in third with 18. Honourable Mention goes to Vic Eldred with 15. The only one who played that I didn't mention was Raven Wing who just missed being in the winners' circle by one point, having achieved a score of 14. Thanks to all who played, hope you all had fun.

The next quiz is already posted, it is on the movies of Audrey Hepburn who acted in around 40 movies and those of Paul Newman who acted in around 60 movies. Both are popular actors and I'm sure that most of those who regularly participate in the quizzes have seen many of their movies. I have watched 18 of the 20 that I listed. In case it gets pushed off the Front (Home) Page by the political hacks here is the link to it. -> ->

back in the mid 60's while on a family vacation, our ski boat was about 10 feet across the fuel dock from a ski boat with cary grant sitting in it. we were at the national recreation area where mackenna's gold was being filmed. at my age I had no clue who he was, but watched my mother become a totally awestruck mumbling wreck when she had recognized him. we didn't figure out what was wrong with her until later when she had regained her composure and told us.
I'd have done the same. That man was so hot it should have been illegal.
Unfortunately he liked boys, nothing wrong with that mind you, he tried to keep that part of his life private...
Maybe, or not. He was still hot.
there's a lot more to that story, but I'm not sharing in mixed company...
Our dev, ever the guardian of propriety
Well it was one of the rumors, and he was a handsome devil wasn't he... {chuckle}
He wasn't half bad.
My crush was Elizabeth Taylor. I was 14 or 15 when I watched the movie A Place in the Sun, and fell in love.
Liz Taylor was a good one, Natalie Wood was my oove...
