Movie Quiz - Adaptations From Books
MOVIE QUIZ - ADAPTATIONS FROM BOOKS
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE, READ WHAT IS BELOW AND FOLLOW THE RULES IN ORDER TO GET FULL MARKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS.
This time, besides the two image clues, the third clue is, and requires, that the movie MUST be one of the 100 movies on the list linked below of movies adapted from books or short stories or else a remake or new version of a movie on the list provided it has the same name . Open and use the list to help you with your decisions. The release year of the movie is not necessary.

Most of the movies are relatively recent and popular. I have seen most of these movies, and the clues are going to be easy this time - in most cases the images alone will identify the title, but some may have clues that are an item or aspect that will require you to know the story or have seen the movie for the clues to be meaningful. Many of the movies were included in previous quizzes, but I tried in most cases to not use the same image clues, and as usual I don't think any of the image clues are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your knowledge of movies, web searching using web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating.
THE RULES
I am being fairly lenient in my scoring, and not overly concerned about spelling mistakes, punctuation, capitalizing or leaving out or adding an extraneous "A" or "The", but even if you guess the answer you should check the movie name on the 100 movie list to make sure it is the full and correct name. For example, you will lose a half mark if you make the title one word if it is two, or two words when it is only one, for example not "Brave Heart", but "Braveheart". So just identifying the images does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie. As well, if you can convince me that my clues are equally or better indicative of a movie other than the one I've chosen, provided it is on the list linked above, I will accept that alternative as a good answer.
Please number your answers the same as the questions.

Because of a recent article touching on this topic I thought it would make a good quiz. The lawyer/courtroom one was difficult, so I made this one really easy. Most of the movie titles are obvious from the kind of clues I used. And the choices are limited by the 100 movie list the answer must relate to. So PLEASE read the whole introduction in order to not make mistakes, and as always...

Submitted.
Received and scored.
I figured out about 80% but it is late here so I will try to post answers tomorrow.
Looking forward to it.
Just sent in my answers - we shall see.
We did.

Shouldn't need too much this time.

Received and scored. Thank you.
Bumping back to the front page
Thank you.
So far 5 members have tried the quiz and all have pretty good scores. Each of the questions has been answered by someone or other so there are no impossible questions. The quiz will be closed Sunday evening (American time) so hopefully it will see more action from the members, although it keeps getting wiped off the Home (Front) Page, and even though it has 8 likes and 14 comments it gets pushed off the "Trending Articles" list by articles with less.
Well I guess I will just have to comment more.
LOL
Keep it on the front page.....
I'm trying. Thanks for helping.
WE have to stick together if we want to make this more than a political mud fight site.
Bump
Thank you
It's no use, Veronica. We're sadly far outnumbered on this site by those without culture, whose only creative connection is to widen America's massive political divide.
Yea, but we cannot give up.
We won't, although it is somewhat disappointing that of the notification of this quiz sent to 18 who have participated in the quizzes THREE DAYS AGO, only 5 have sent their answers. Hopefully more will find time on the weekend to do so.
I hope they do. I enjoy the quizzes, but sometimes life overcomes my ability to take the time to do things I enjoy.
Hopefully you will also be posting the answers here as well at the end , I am confident i have 14 of the answers correct , but those last 6 even with the link , i have not a clue . and without beng able to submit a complete list i wont submit at all.
Don't be a coward. There is a member, I'll not mention his name but he knows who he is. The first times he started doing my quizzes he posted his answers notwithstanding he only got a few right, next time a few more, and he kept posting more and more, not at all embarrassed, and he persevered and eventually he got a PERFECT 20 SCORE. I admire that member. Other members have not been ashamed to get low scores, because to those who have the guts to post their answers it is a challenge, and EVERYONE has said it is fun. When I close the quiz I announce only the winners, those who win, place, show, and honourable mention only.
Yes, when I close the quiz on Sunday night, I will post the answers.
(deleted)
let me go check , only 2 are blocked that i know of .
Shameless bump!
LOL. Thanks again.
Answers and guesses sent in
And now scored.
was fun
Evening..just watching the movie San Andreas on TV some massive earthquake hits California....you're all screwed..
It's best not to mention movie names on my movie quiz articles because it can mislead those who participate - but San Andreas is not an answer.to this quiz. I've been bored with the continuous politics these days so I actually watched 8 movies over the past two days. None of them were answers to this quiz. I usually post that kind of comment on the movie group comment wall, although it's a frosty day that anyone bothers to read them.
Back in the early 90's, there was a craze going on with books on earthquakes as they were predicting the "Big One" to hit and eliminate California. A book came out during that time called 'We are the Earthquake Generation'. Typical of the books at the time it was loaded with extreme predictions. I loved the back cover, it had a depiction of the new West Coast after the big one hit.
I can remember all the concern at the time.
This quiz will be closed and the winners announced in approximately 24 hours from now, i.e. Sunday evening American time. At least two members have said that they will be providing their answers, but have not yet done so, and should do so soon if they meant what they said.
I'll give it a shot tomorrow. I meant to do it earlier in the week, but forgot. Sorry about that, Buzz.
You have only 2 hours left before I close the quiz.
Shameless last bump to get it back to the front page for it's last day... get your answers in before the quiz closes tonight.
To give a helping hand to those who are still on the fence and afraid they don't know the movies well, the answer to #21 is NOT 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'.
No movie names, Snuffy. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory IS the answer to question 21 even though it doesn't appear on the linked 100 movie list. In fact, even the question doesn't appear
It's time to close the quiz (Sorry Dig, but you had ample warning). As I said, this one was very easy, to make up for the lawyer/courtroom one that wasn't. And that is established by the fact that there are 4 participants who tied for first place with a perfect score of 20 - Split Personality, Snuffy, Greg.tx and Perrie. Coming in second with 19 is Kathleen, and tied for third place with 18 are Vic Eldred and Jasper. Honourable Mention goes to Veronica with a score of 17. There were no bad scores. I'm happy that 11 members gave it a try, most of whom told me it was fun, that they enjoyed doing it, and I'm happy more members discovered that it was fun for them and their spouses who played along with them.
