MOVIE QUIZ - NICOLAS CAGE FILMS
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A COMMENT, HINT AT OR POST MOVIE NAMES OR QUOTES OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, 'BUZZ of the ORIENT', AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I'm on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can .
PLEASE, PLEASE READ WHAT IS BELOW IN ORDER TO GET A BETTER SCORE. IT IS ALWAYS SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT FROM PREVIOUS INTRODUCTIONS.
For this quiz, besides the two image clues, the third clue, and requirement , is that the movie MUST be one in which Nicolas Cage acted, and it could be any genre. Cage acted in 95 movies. I have seen only 8 of the ones in the quiz myself so the clues can either indicate the title of the movie or the clues could be of an item or scenario that is a primary object in or otherwise indicative of or important to the plot which might make the quiz a little more difficult if you've not seen the movie or at least read the synopsis.
I chose the movies from the IMDb list of "All Nicolas Cage Movies Ranked" and suggest that you check that list to help you identify the movies the clues are for, and to make sure your titles are correct. Here is a link to the list -> https://www.imdb.com/list/ls086744766/
A few of the movies were included in previous quizzes, but even if so I tried not to use the same image clues, and as usual I don't think any of the image clues are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your movie memory and identification skills, web searching using web programs that identify movies from naming the clues is cheating, but an exception to that is that you first review the list and once you think you know the answer I recommend that you check to make sure it is correct. Participants keep losing points because they fail to do that.
Two hints, for all my quizzes. I never put the same movie twice on the same quiz, and the order in which I post clues for each question is usually significant.
THE RULES
You will not lose score for not capitalizing or using proper punctuation or correct spelling or adding an extraneous or leaving off a "the" or "A", but I will have to make a decision between your just naming what the clues are and the actual movie name. Just identifying the images does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie, which is why I recommend that you check to make sure the name is correct if you're not sure of it, because the images may only be a clue to the ACTUAL name of the movie.
Remakes of original movies with the same name will be acceptable (provided that Nicolas Cage is an actor in the remake). If you name movies that I feel the clues identify as well or better than the ones I used, I have been accepting them as good answers as well, but keep in mind that Nicolas Cage must be an actor in the movie.
If you're not sure, don't leave a blank but guess - you could be right and I don’t subtract a point if you’re wrong. There are some hard ones to guess, but also easy ones, so give it a try and NAME THESE MOVIES.
Please number your answers the same as the images.

I know the last quiz was a really tough one, so now here is one that is a lot easier - back to the two-image clues, and a lot can be answered from the clues without your having seen the movie, as long as you check the IMDb list I linked. Let's have more participants this time. Don't politics ranters watch movies? Have some fun for a change, and challenge the movie mavens. So give this one a try and remember as always....

Very good!
Hoping for lots of participation.
Recognized many but don't often participate.
I don't recall your ever participating in my quizzes, but if you did it must have been a long time ago. Why not try this one?
Instead of just making a meaningless comment, why don't you join us and participate ... especially since you said that you recognized many of the movies?
You tell him, Jasper.

And thank you, too.
You're welcome.
So far three have participated and their scores all differ but are good, as expected. Only one question remains unanswered - it is the trickiest question, and requires thinking out of the box.
Correction. I've decided to give a point for an alternate answer for the one nobody had yet got right.
I am now able to say that one participant has answered that question with the original movie I had in mind. Therefore none of the questions are impossible. and at least one member has indicated the ability to "think out of the box".

The Nicolas Cage Movie Quiz is now closed. 11 members participated and all did well. Perfect scores of 20 out of 20 were shared by Nowhere Man, Jasper2529, charger 383 and Perrie. In second place are Snuffy and Kathleen who each scored 19. Mark in Wyoming came in third with 18 1/2 and Honourable Mention goes to Just Jim NC TttH with a score of 17 1/2. The lowest score among the remaining participants was 16 and that's 80%, nothing to sneeze at. All of the questions were answered but I do want to say that the question I said was tricky and required thinking out of the box, and the answer I actually was seeking for it was provided by only one member - Jasper2529. The clues for number 8 were a white Jaguar car and a cargo ship. I had meant for Primal to have been the correct answer, a movie in which a white jaguar animal was a primary item, and much of the action took place aboard a cargo ship. However, Nowhere Man, the first to submit answers, convinced me to allow Gone in 60 Seconds to be a valid answer because valuable vintage cars were the main item, and they were loaded at one point aboard a cargo ship. Therefore I gave a point for that answer, which is the one most members submitted. Perrie pointed out to me that Gone in 60 Seconds was a fairly popular film, while Primal was not, and I guess that explains the choices that were made. Thanks to all who participated. I am trying to decide among many possibilities what to use for my next quiz.
Here are the answers to the Nicolas Cage Movie Quiz:
1. Leaving Las Vegas - a drunk man & Las Vegas
2. Peggy Sue Got Married - Buddy Holly & a marriage scene
3. Red Rock West - Red Rock Canyon & a compass pointing west
4. Moonstruck - the moon & a pizza pie
5. The Wicker Man - a wicker basket & a man
6. Raising Arizona - quintuplets & a map showing Arizona
7. Matchstick Men - a match & a group of men
8. Primal - a white Jaguar car & a cargo ship (Gone in 60 Seconds was an alternative answer)
9. Zandalee - New Orleans street scene & a painter
10. The Rock - Alcatraz & a gas mask
11. Fire Birds - Apache helicopters & illicit drugs
12. Running With the Devil - a man running & the devil
13. Valley Girl - a valley & a girl
14. City of Angels - a city scene & angels
15. Seeking Justice - a person seeking something & statue of Justice
16. Con Air - convicts & a passenger airplane
17. National Treasure - Declaration of Independence & a treasure
18. Snake Eyes - pair of dice showing snake eyes & a boxing scene
19. Captain Corelli's Mandolin - a fisherman & a mandolin
20. Windtalkers - a Navajo symbol & a code bar
Wow... congratulations NWM, Jasper, charger & Perrie. Four tied for first place. And congrats to all the others, looks like everybody did quite well against an actor who seems to only have one style of acting.
Thanks Buzz, looking forward to the next one. Maybe go back to the tougher approach? hehe....
By the way, I thought that the clue I had posted for number 17 was the Declaration of Independence so forgive me, I'm a Canadian and didn't know. In the movie National Treasure the Declaration of Independence was stolen by Cage whereas in the next National Treasure follow-up movie it was not, so I needed to use it to zero in on the correct answer.
I was just reading some of the comments on one of the political seeds posted on the Front (Home) Page, and I experienced a kind of epiphany. I was kind of quietly lamenting about the conflict between members, and then thought of my quizzes, where those of us who argue with each other elsewhere are like a close knit family here, no fights, no taunting, we get along, we're friends, we're all in this together. It made me think of many years ago when in my profession I would witness the lawyers on the opposing sides of a trial argue with vehemence, sometimes viciously, and then go to lunch together and talk about their holidays, about their kids, and sit there as genuinely good friends. Can anyone else be cognizant of that here? I've said before that although we might verbally fight with each other on NT, if there ever was an NTmeet (thinking of a vinemeet) we would be drinking toasts to one another.
Doubtful...
I prefer optimism.
Congratulations to all who participated! Buzz ... thank you for making these quizzes for us. I'm looking forward to your next one!
I want to indicate that I believe Split Personality had posted his answers but some weird glitch in the NT system prevented me from receiving them. Had I received them, his score would have placed him among those named in the results.
TY!
