ESPIONAGE/SPY MOVIE QUIZ
ESPIONAGE/SPY MOVIE QUIZ
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE , READ WHAT IS BELOW FIRST AND FOLLOW THE RULES IN ORDER TO GET FULL MARKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS. IT IS ALWAYS A LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM THE LAST QUIZ.
This time, besides the two image clues, the third clue is and it is REQUIRED that the movie MUST be one of the 65 movies on THE BEST ESPIONAGE MOVIES (IN DECLINING CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER) IMDb list linked below. Only 65 instead of 100 moves so the odds are increased in your favour. Open and use the list to help you with finding the correct match to the clues and making sure of title accuracy. The release year of the movie is not necessary. If you're not sure because the clues did not spell out the title, you should read the short blurbs about the movies on the linked list. Most of them should not be difficult, but you are going to find a few tricky ones this time, one of them especially.
(IMDb list LINK) -> https://www.imdb.com/list/ls000421594/
I have seen only 8 of the movies myself so the clues will be a little easier to interpret than the last one since many of the titles should be easily identifiable by the clue images, and a lot of those are REALLY easy. However, some will still require you to either have watched the movies or been familiar with them because the clues will represent an item, fact, scenario or aspect that will require you to have seen the movie or know the story. Only a few of the movies have been included in previous quizzes, but these are almost all new image clues, and as usual I don't think any of them are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your knowledge of movies, web searching using web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating.
Note that I never use the same movie more than once in the same quiz, and usually the order of the clues is important. A bit of advice. Some clues might suggest more than one movie, so make sure you take BOTH clues into consideration.
THE RULES
I am being fairly lenient in my scoring, and not overly concerned about spelling mistakes, punctuation, capitalizing or leaving out or adding an extraneous "A" or "The", but even if you guess the answer you should check the movie name on the linked movie list to make sure it is the full and correct name. For example, you will lose a half mark if you make the title one word if it is two, or two words when it is only one because that means to me that you are not sure of the title. So just identifying the images does not necessarily mean to me that you know the name of the movie. As well, if you can convince me that my clues are equally or better indicative of a movie other than the one I've chosen, provided it is one of the 65 movies on the IMDb list linked above , I will accept that alternative as a good answer, and I have accepted alternatives previously. Please also send only one answer for each question - I cannot score it if you provide more than one movie per question.

Although the response to the last quiz was okay, I thought I would post one about another very current and very popular matter these days - espionage. Maybe it will be of more interest to some of the "sometimes" participants, or even some fresh faces. So let's see if this one will attract many to whom current events and politics rule the day. Please give this one a try, but as always, remember....
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT HERE OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Once you have submitted your answers you can discuss the quiz only with me by means of Private Notes, or just wait until the quiz is closed and the winners are announced because then you can discuss it here.
As I said before, you will have about 5 days to think about the questions and submit your answers to me in a PN. This quiz will be closed Sunday evening February 19th at about 9:30 p.m. New York City time.
Working (and bumping)
Nothing is as satisfying as accomplishment. Thanks for the bump.
Good theme! Thanks, Buzz!
It's topical these days. You're welcome.
Guesses sent.
Received and scored. Thank you.

Received and scored. Thank you.
I will have to sleep on several of the clues or start watching each movie.
LOL. If the clues don't make the answers obvious, read the short blurbs about the movies on the provided linked list.

Received and scored. Thank you. Sorry I took so long, but I was watching a movie, then ate lunch.
Even though I've only received answers from two participants, I can say at this point that all of the questions are possible to answer correctly.
And now three participants - a good start. Just realized that I used an expression that's part of a lawyer joke.
What do you call 600 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?
A good start.
Why won't the sharks touch them?
Professional courtesy.
bump again
A bump in time saves nine. That sounds familiar - have I said it before?
Bumping back to the front page
Thanks Snuffy. Only a couple more days to go on this one.
LOL. A "bump" game.
Okay what is that? To me it looks like two soap bubbles bumping.
Body Balls - bumping together...
Speaking of body balls, did you check out the humour article I posted today?
Yep, it was a good one. I heard that several years back.. but then we're both older so by now we should have heard a lot of those jokes... hehe
My brother, who is 90, sends me lots of "old folks" jokes. I thought that one was a bit familiar as well, but then at our age we do sometimes not remember some things clearly, eh?
who are you again?
Fortunately I'm lucid this morning so I DO know who I am - I know my name isn't "Lucid".
Still working on this. Bump!
The answer to move #24 is "**#&^%%@(&%(&(*&@".
Only because we're not supposed to put the names of any movie into the posts. hehe... Hope this helps.....
Sorry, I don't understand your comment. Did I do something wrong??? If so, I apologize and will remove myself from this quiz.
I think it is meant to bump the quiz...............
Oh, I hope so, because I enjoy participating in Buzz's movie quizzes and would never deliberately spoil them.
Oh, I hope so, because I enjoy participating in Buzz's movie quizzes and would never deliberately spoil them.
I took it as a joke.
Nope, it was just a joke. I messed up a couple of quiz's back where I put in a movie name in a conversation , the movie was not part of or even in the genre of the quiz, but Buzz doesn't want people to post the names of any movies in the comments. So I put in the characters. Sorry for the confusion.
Are you teasing me?
No need to recuse yourself, Jasper. You're not Amy Coney Barrett.
Absolutely, Jim.
You can say that again. Oh, you did.
Thank you, Jasper. Thank you Jasper.
Give that man a cigar.
You're forgiven.
It's quite a struggle to stay visible on the Front (Home) Page these days for a non-political article. Anyway, it is now about 48 hours before this quiz is closed, so take notice if you are still planning to submit your answers.
rushing to get them in
Got them and scored them. Thank you.
Done and Done!
Received and scored and received and scored. Thank you.
Let's get these answers in!
I was really hoping for a response of at least a double digit number of participants - 8 have already played, and mostly those 8 are very regular participants. All the scores are good so this quiz is easier than I thought it would be. How about all those on the list who rarely give my quizzes a try? I did this one about espionage and spy movies because I thought it was topical, and also because I thought it would have been a topic of interest to those who rarely play. Come on, guys, you still have all Sunday to give it a shot. For just a little while forget the train wrecks and the toddler gunslingers and political bullshit and have some fun for a change.
NOTICE: This quiz will be closed and the winners announced in about 23 hours, ending Sunday evening at about 9:30 p.m. New York City time. As the doomsayers' posters' signs say "There is still time, brothers and sisters."
One final bump for the day
Thanks - quiz closes in about 2 hours so I don't expect any of the "only sometimes" players now anyway.
And here's my bump.
I forgot to post my usual "Answers submitted" comment yesterday, so here it is!
Better late than never.
'The time has come,' the Walrus said, 'To close this quiz.' And so I will - it is now closed. Eight members participated and all eight are in the "Winners' Circle". I guess this quiz was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Dig, Snuffy, Split Personality and Charger 383 all share first place, all 4 achieving a perfect score of 20. Second place goes to Perrie who scored 19 of the questions right, while coming in third, again a tie, are Kathleen and Jasper2529, and Honourable Mention goes to Vic Eldred with 17 1/2. Congratulations to all who played - you're all winners, and I thank you all for participating, especially for participating regularly, which keeps me happy to keep the quizzes coming. I just wish that some of the "sometimes players" would give them a try now and then.
The next quiz, to be posted soon will be in order to honour Bruce Willis, who sadly is presently in bad shape - it will be the movies of Bruce Willis.
Thanks Buzz.
And Congrats to all
Congratulations, everyone!
