INDIE MOVIE QUIZ
INDIE MOVIE QUIZ
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE, READ WHAT IS BELOW FIRST AND FOLLOW THE RULES IN ORDER TO GET FULL MARKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS. IT IS ALWAYS A LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM THE LAST QUIZ.
This time, besides the two image clues, the third clue is and it is REQUIRED that the movie MUST be one of the 100 movies on the 100 American Independent Films (BFI Screen Guide) list linked below. Open and use that IMDb list to help you with finding the correct match to the clues and making sure of title accuracy. The release year of the movie is not necessary.
(IMDb list LINK) -> https://www.imdb.com/list/ls002076513/
I have seen only 7 of the movies on the quiz myself so many of the titles should be easily identifiable by the clue images, and a lot of those are REALLY easy. However, some will still require you to either have watched the movies or been familiar with them because the clues will represent an item, fact, scenario or aspect that will require you to have seen the movie or know the story. I have included a few tricky clues this time. Only a couple of the movies have been included in previous quizzes, but these are almost all new image clues, and as usual I don't think any of them are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your knowledge of movies, web searching using web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating.
Note that I never use the same movie more than once in the same quiz, and usually the order of the clues is important. A bit of advice: sometimes the clues might suggest more than one movie, so make sure you take BOTH clues into consideration.
THE RULES
I am being fairly lenient in my scoring, and not overly concerned about spelling mistakes, punctuation, capitalizing or leaving out or adding an extraneous "A" or "The", but even if you guess the answer you should check the movie name on the linked IMDb movie list to make sure it is the full and correct name. For example, you will lose a half mark if you make the title one word if it is two, or two words when it is only one because that means to me that you are not sure of the title. So just identifying the images does not necessarily mean to me that you know the name of the movie. As well, if you can convince me that my clues equally or better indicate a movie other than the one I've chosen, provided it is one of the 100 movies on the IMDb list linked above , I will accept that alternative as a good answer, and I have accepted alternatives previously. Please also send only one answer for each question - I cannot score it if you provide more than one movie per question.

Okay, quiz-players, we're back in action again. This time it is for you to identify INDIE MOVIES (i.e. independent films, made outside the big film studio system). As usual some questions will be easy and some hard, and you must choose from a linked list of 100 indie movies. You will have about 5 days, including the whole weekend to submit your answers as the quiz will close Sunday April 2nd at about 10 p.m. New York City time. So please, READ THE WHOLE INTRODUCTION, and give this one a try, but remember as always....
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT HERE, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
This will take some thinking
Of course. Some of the questions will be pretty challenging.
Gonna give it a try.
Good.
Looks good, tough but good.
Well, "tough" gives you a little challenge, makes answering more of an accomplishment.
Hi, Buzz ... I'm finally back. Thanks for another quiz! I'll PN you either today or tomorrow. - J.
Looking forward to it.

Waiting for an explanation.
And sent (along with another bump)

We got pushed off the Front (Home) Page probably by the many articles about Trump's woes. Maybe this will sneak us back on for an hour or two.
No such luck.
Been trying, still have a few to figure out. Just as I started typing this out I figured another one out.
Keep on it, bc.
Kept at it and, finally, submitted.
Had our first clap of thunder last night and now the frogs need to be froze under three more times and it will finally start the warm up to summer. Tonight will be the first freeze over, so we are getting there.
And another side note, it was clear this morning and you could see the stars, Starlink must've sent up more satellites, for a formation of them went over in a straight line one after the other into the predawn sunlight.
Received and scored, thank you.
Apparently recently a bunch of the planets lined up in a row and a few could be seen with the naked eye. Many years ago I was overwhelmed when I first saw the rings of Saturn through an amateur Tasco telescope.
I should get our telescope out again, it has been many years now.
When the comet hit Jupiter, I had the telescope in the parking lot of my business to catch the aftermath. While setup, a customer showed up with a damaged harvester in need of immediate repair, so while working on the machine I would occasionally visit the telescope and readjust it back onto Jupiter, the customer asked what I was watching, so I invited him to look and you could see the dark spots on Jupiter. I was amazed at how unimpressed he was, something you may never get the chance to ever see again.

Bumping back to the front page
Only 3 have participated so far, and only today and tomorrow left before closing.
Still thinking about a few
You still have Sunday until just before 10:00 p.m. New York City time to submit your answers.
Sent them in
Received and scored, thank you.
NOTICE: There are only 12 hours left to submit answers. Only 5 members have participated so far. None of the questions are impossible because each one has been answered by someone or other.
Last bump for the quiz, get 'em in people...
Last call - quiz will be closed in a little more than an hour and a half.
Now you have 6, and we're back on the front page!
Actually 7 - Kathleen uses email.
The quiz is now closed. Seven members participated, and all have made it to the Winners' Circle. Snuffy and Dig tie for first place with perfect 20 scores, while second place is also a tie with Split Personality, bccrane and Jasper2529 each with scores of 19. charger 383 takes third place with 18 and Kathleen gets Honourable Mention with a score of 17. The scores are all higher than I expected for this quiz, which should show those too reluctant to play that it's not as hard as they must think, and everyone says it's fun - you know, fun, something that's not so easy to have these days.
I don't know what to do next. The participation is dwindling from quiz to quiz so I'll have to spend a little time coming up with something that doesn't scare people away.
And for those who passed up the chance to spend a little bit of time having fun, here are the answers:
It was a fun quiz
It was fun to prepare as well.
Thanks Buzz. And congrats Dig and all who participated, another fun quiz.
The mystery that cannot be solved is that when those who participate have fun doing it, so few want to have fun.
Congratulations to all who participated! Thanks, again, for another fun movie quiz, Buzz. Looking forward to your next one!
You're welcome. Right now it's a mystery what the topic should be. In fact, maybe it should be murder mysteries.
Murder mysteries would be great!
