MOVIE QUIZ - BRAD PITT and SANDRA BULLOCK
MOVIE QUIZ - BRAD PITT and SANDRA BULLOCK
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE , READ WHAT IS BELOW FIRST AND FOLLOW THE RULES IN ORDER TO GET FULL MARKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS. IT IS ALWAYS A LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM THE LAST QUIZ.
This time, besides the two image clues, the third clue is and it is REQUIRED that the movie MUST be a movie on one of the 2 lists that are linked following this paragraph, i.e. in which Brad Pitt or Sandra Bullock acted. Both are IMDb movie lists. I have seen all of the Brad Pitt's movies on the quiz but only 3 with Sandra Bullock, so although some of the movies can be identified from just the images that often just spell out the title, some may require you to either have watched the movies or be familiar with them or do a little research into them because the clues might represent an item, fact, scenario or aspect that will require you to know the story or what the film is about. A few have been included in previous quizzes, but these are almost all new image clues, and as usual I don't think any of them are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your knowledge of movies, web searching using web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating.
Brad Pitt List Link -> https://www.imdb.com/list/ls048497732/
Sandra Bullock List Link -> https://www.imdb.com/list/ls021585167/
Note that I never use the same movie more than once in the same quiz, and usually the order of the clues is important.
THE RULES
I am being fairly lenient in my scoring, and not overly concerned about spelling mistakes, punctuation, capitalizing or leaving out or adding an extraneous "A" or "The", but even if you guess the answer you should check the movie name on the linked lists or web to make sure it is the full and correct name. For example, and this will be important for all my quizzes, you will lose a half mark if you make the title one word if it is two, or two words when it is only one because that means to me that you are not sure of the title. Just identifying the images does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie. That is why it is important for you to check your answers with the lists to make sure they are correct. As well, if you can convince me that my clues are equally as relevant for or better indicative of a movie other than the one I've chosen, provided it is one of the movies in which Brad Pitt or Sandra Bullock acted AND is on one of the two lists linked above , I will accept that alternative as a good answer. In some previous quizzes I did accept alternatives. Please also send only one answer for each question - I cannot score it if you provide more than one movie per question.
A situation came up on a previous quiz where the movie list link I used came up with a different movie title than the one the participant opened although it was the same link, so if that happens, please tell me.
Please number your answers the same as the questions.

Guess it's about time for a new movie quiz, so In case everyone has been chomping at the bit waiting so long, here it is. Hope you'll have fun with it, but remember always...
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT HERE, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
This quiz will be closed and the winners announced Tuesday evening August 22nd at around 10 p.m. New York City time, so you have more than a whole week to work on it in your spare time (if you have any).
Woohoo - I hope I can settle in and get this one done.
Should be a cinch for a Crone.
My main issue is being able to find time to actually sit down and do the quiz & enjoy it. I don't like to rush through it - I like to deliberate.
I did extend the time to do the quiz to longer than ever before - 8 days. Surely you should find time to relax and have some fun once in a while. What do they say about "All work and no play....?"
Will start studying the clues
I don't think this will be a tough one.
We shall see. These are two flash in the pan actors.
????
Where are Bullock and Pitt these days?
Excuses, excuses.
My sentiments as well.
I don't know, but their movies are still playing here. You should be happy I'm not using (DELETED).
(OMG I broke my own rule - deleted by Buzz)
What I meant is I'm not using movie stars from the 1930s.
Got a few of them already, but alas, I need to get to work.
Hopefully you've got all next Monday.
Woo Hoo!!! Thanks Buzz, another quiz that looks like fun.
It doesn't just LOOK like fun, it WILL BE fun. What I simply can't understand is why so few members on this site WANT to have fun.
Maybe for your next quiz, you should make it about Trump. I bet lots of people would partake... LOL
I had a response, but it would have contravened my non-naming rule, so it will have to wait until this quiz is closed.
Looks like you're trying to take off. LOL
I'm very excited.
So am I.
Good choices, Buzz ... thanks again!
You're welcome, and thanks to you for regularly participating.
Bump!
Always appreciated.
submitted
Received and scored, thank you.
The first one is one of my favorite movies. Nice quiz Buzz.
Thank you. Why don't you give it a try?
A Wednesday bump at midday.
Always welcome.
NOTICE TO PARTICIPANTS
There are a few tricky questions in this quiz where one of the clues could indicate a movie that is not a correct answer. It is very important to take into consideration that BOTH clues are important and must match the intended movie, and as I've pointed out, the first clue is usually the more important one. Where a clue could indicate the possibility of more than one movie, perhaps even be apparently obvious, the other clue must also match the correct movie, and so sometimes one should not jump to conclusions from just one clue. If you have not seen the movie, which would make the answer clearer, it is necessary to do some research into the movies that the clue could represent.
Still a few to figure out
Lots of time, so time to be careful about the few that are tricky.
IMPORTANT NOTICE - CHANGE OF CLUE
I have determined that a clue, in particular the second clue for question number 8 is misleading because the first clue is not strong enough to establish the correct movie and the original second clue would probably have more clearly identified the wrong movie. In that case the first clue was not strong enough to establish the correct answer. However that same situation may also arise elsewhere, but in such a case the other clue is stronger and indicative enough by itself to make the correct answer much more obvious.
Still working on a few
Looking forward to the result.
Friday morning bump...
A bump can be a good thing.
Still working on them and now I will have to second guess on a couple just to be sure. I realize I've not seen many of these movies so I'll need Monday after all.
Keep up the good work.
A Friday afternoon bump to start the weekend. Only 2 more to go!
Waiting patiently.
Saturday morning bump to start the official weekend....
I've answered all, now to second-guess each and every one of them.
LOL. That's a good one.
Time is about half gone, and only 3 have participated so far. However, from one or another it should be noted that no question is impossible to answer. But PLEASE, take note that it is meaningful that I changed the Hollywood sign clue because it was misleading and was bound to lead to a wrong answer.
I think I got it after you changed the clue. Thanks!
You're welcome.
Sent them in!
Received and scored. Thank you.
And submitted. A fun quiz. Couple are guesses as I've not seen all the movies on the list but it was fun. Thanks Buzz.
Received and scored. Thanks.
Seven have played so far, which is pretty good, but I'm hoping for at least 3 more to finally reach double digit participation.
Submitted with more than a couple guesses.
Thanks, but waiting for your answer to my question.
Just noticed, where did it go, bump, ah there it is again.
That's life, everything and everybody comes and goes.
Final bumpety bump back to the front page for the last day of the quiz. Get your answers in today as the quiz closes tonight around 10pm EDT.
Only 3 hours left to submit answers at this point. I am happy to announce that my hope that the quiz would reach double digit participation has come true.
Okay, cinephiles, the time has come (as the walrus said) to close this quiz. Having received answers from 10 participants, besides sincere encouragement from a couple of members, I've become more motivated and encouraged to continue posting quizzes. This quiz was a little harder than previously, and only one player achieved a perfect score of 20 - Dig, who wins first prize. Three tied for second place with scores of 19 - Veronica, Kathleen and Snuffy. Coming in third two tied with scores of 18 - charger 383 and Perrie, while honourable mention goes to Jasper2529 who scored 17. the other three were not far off. Thanks to all who participated and congratulations to those who made the winner's circle. Thanks as well to those who voted the quiz up and kept it on the Front (Home) Page. Now, while awaiting my next quiz, check out the movies of Matt Damon and Kate Winslet. See you again soon.
Here are the answers to this quiz, so those who choose politics over fun can see what they missed.
And just so everyone knows, the actors whose names I deleted when I broke my own rule in the comments above were Paul Muni and Louise Ranier. So NOW is the time to discuss the quiz and movie stuff generally.
Been thinking that Matt Damon has been in too many movies that have been used for fairly recent quizzes, so I'm doing Morgan Freeman and Kate Winslet instead. I can't remember if I've used them previously but it will have been long ago and I've probably picked mostly other movies they've been in for the quiz, or at least different clues. I've already picked the movies, so now I have to seek and save the images for the clues.
Congrats Dig!!! And well done everybody else.
Thanks Buzz, another fun quiz.
Well said, and you're welcome.
Fun and good exercise for the brain
I agree... Lots of good fun
Thanks, boss.
It's nice to know that there are at least 10 people on NT who take advantage of that opportunity.
Congrats to all!
Thanks for another fun quiz, Buzz - looking forward to the next one!
You're welcome, and the next one is coming soon.
