COMING OF AGE MOVIES QUIZ
COMING OF AGE MOVIES QUIZ
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE . POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE, READ WHAT IS BELOW FIRST AND FOLLOW THE RULES IN ORDER TO GET FULL MARKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS. IT IS ALWAYS A LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM THE LAST QUIZ.
Continuing with a single genre, so besides the two image clues, the third clue is and it is REQUIRED that the movie MUST be a movie on the IMDb list that is linked following this paragraph. I have seen only 3 or 4 of the movies on this quiz that I can remember, so, as always some of the movies can be identified from just the images that often just spell out the title, but some may require you to either have watched the movies or be familiar with them or will require you to do a little research into them because the clues might represent an item, fact, scenario or aspect that will require you to have seen the movie or know the story or what the film is about. A few of the movies were very popular when they were released and in that case the list may not be a big help but I'll bet everyone has seen the movies I'm telling you about. No more than a few, if that many, have been included in previous quizzes, but these are almost all new image clues, and as usual I don't think any of them are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your knowledge of movies, web searching using web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating.
The IMDb list "Coming Of Age Films (Top 100) LINK -> https://www.imdb.com/list/ls567165417/
Note that I never use the same movie more than once in the same quiz, and usually the order of the clues is important
THE RULES
I am being fairly lenient in my scoring, and not overly concerned about spelling mistakes, punctuation, capitalizing or leaving out or adding an extraneous "A" or "The", but especially if you guess the answer you should check the movie name on the linked list or web to make sure it is the full and correct name. For example, and this will be important for all my quizzes, you will lose a half mark if you make the title one word if it is two, or two words when it is only one because that means to me that you are not sure of the title. Just identifying the images does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie. That is why it is important for you to check your answers with the lists to make sure they are correct. As well, if you can convince me that my clues are equally as relevant for or better indicative of a movie other than the one I've chosen, provided it is one of the movies on the IMDb list linked above, I will accept that alternative as a good answer. In the previous quiz I did accept alternatives for two of the questions. Please also send only one answer for each question - I cannot score it if you provide more than one movie per question.
A situation came up on a previous quiz where the movie list link I used came up with a different name than the one the participant opened although it was the same link, so if that happens, please tell me. Be careful to use ONLY the list linked above, because there are other similar lists that will not have the same movies.
SPECIAL HINT FOR THOSE WHO BOTHER TO READ WHAT'S ABOVE
Although some of the movies can be identified by just one of the clues, some of the clues can apply to the wrong movie, so it is IMPORTANT to take BOTH clues into consideration.
Please number your answers the same as the questions.

I'm ba-a-a-a-k. This time it's back to our younger days and the movies about teenagers. So set your mind back to those days and check out this quiz. Some of the questions will virtually THROW the answers at you. Except perhaps for only two or three movies you should be able to answer this one with just the linked IMDb list and some common sense, or else it is a movie I'll bet you've seen anyway. So be a teenybopper and go to it, but remember, as always....]

This quiz will be closed and the winners announced at about 10 p.m. New York time on Friday the 13th. Wow, Friday the 13th. I should have saved the Scariest Movies Quiz for this week. LOL
Awesome. I will sit down with this tomorrow.
It's never too soon.
First look didn't give me any answers yet
Try to think back to when you were a teenager.
Much of that was discussed last night at my high school reunion,
I never went to a high school reunion per se, but I did go to a banquet carried on by the school when my favourite teacher of all time retired.
A good Saturday morning with coffee puzzle.
Submitted.
Received and scored just before my Sunday morning breakfast with a mug of coffee.
New Quiz... will start this tomorrow
Lots of tomorrows to do it.
When what to our curious eyes should appear
But a new movie quiz to fill hearts with good cheer!
Thanks, Buzz!
Preparing these quizzes is fun for me too,
A challenge to find and post the right clue.
You're welcome.
It is about 10 a.m. Sunday here, which would be about 10 p.m. New York time Saturday in the USA. It didn't take long at all for this quiz to be wiped off the Front (Home) Page. It's a good thing that I send the LINK out to the regular participants and others who have shown some interest in the quizzes or there would be hardly anyone participating.
bump
Many thanks to a fellow commonwealther - you put us back on the page.
bump back to the front page
Thanks, as always.
And a Monday morning bump to get back on the front page
Answered and submitted.
Acknowledged, received and scored. Thank you.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Monday afternoon bump!
It's good to wake up to see us on the Front (Home) Page - many thanks.
Oh oh - pushed off the page again, and I probably had something to do with it by posting a new seed about jade. Still a few days to go so....HELP!!!
Evening...fixed it..🦘🦘
Yep, you did. Thank you.
Bump!
Thanks for that.
Submitted
Received and scored, thanks.
Bimp!
Thanks for helping get us back up - we're there at the time I'm posting this, although I'm sure that with all the important news these days we'll need many bumps (and bimps as well) to keep us there.
Submitted
Received and scored. Thank you.
Will try, just got back from the last pull of the year of one of my side jobs, so spent last four days in Florida working, crap, no play time, tried to visit NT, but didn't have time for that either. Now back at my regular job and am immediately behind, so this time it will be a challenge since I went down the clues and didn't find a single one that I recognized. And so a bump is needed.
I hope you'll find the time - only 4 have participated so far which is a really slow start. I know this one's a little more challenging, and for a few of the questions you either have to have seen the movies or need to spend some time doing research. However, the next one is going to be tougher still.
So far just over half figured so bump this to the front again so I don't have to keep looking in my comments to find this.
Good idea.
So, here I am again bumping this up. Will work on the rest this morning. Again had to go to my comments to bring this back up.
Ok, just submitted.
Received and scored, thank you.
Still trying to figure two of them out
There are still a couple of days left.
Sent them in
Received and scored, thanks.
Only around a day and a half left to submit answers!!!
Happy Tuesday (yeah, I know it's Thursday but I like Taco's) bump...
I'm not confused - so thanks.
Still working ... and still bumping!
One more day left, and thanks.
Bumping bumping bumping...
keep those clues a'coming
Rawhide!!!!!!!!
Good to see us on the top of the Front (Home) Page thanks to bumps by you and others.
Only a little less than 12 hours left to submit answers.
Submitted ... finally!
And, a Friday bump!
We're not on the Front (Home) Page at this time, but considering the intensity of the news, it's understandable. Anyway, the quiz closes in an hour and I don't expect any more submissions. I will soon send out to my quiz notifications list a link to the closing comment with results and answers along with a link to the new anime movie quiz I will soon post.
Received and scored. Thank you.
This quiz is now closed. I guess I was wrong to think that movies that were very popular at the time, ones I had watched, would also have been seen by many others, so I will not repeat that error I made with numbers 1 and 11 unless I'm absolutely sure that the movie was so well known that an item, fact or scenario from it is well known. However, all the correct answers WERE provided by more than one participant, and I did accept alternative answers for two of the questions. Notwithstanding all of that, ALL NINE participants are in the winner's circle.
Tied for first place with perfect scores of 20 are Dig and Veronica. Second place is also a tie with scores of 19 achieved by Vic Eldred, Snuffy and Perrie, while Split Personality gets third place with a score of 18. Honourable Mention goes to both charger 383, bccrane and Jasper2529 who got 17 right. Congratulations to all with my thanks for participating and helping to keep the quiz up front.
If you think THIS one was a challenge, wait until you see the next one - a quiz that was harder and took longer for me to put together than any previous quiz - anime movies, because I almost never watch them.
For those who are afraid to indicate a lack of capability to meet the movie quiz challenge, or whose interests do not include the movies, here are the answers to this quiz - compare the clues with the answers to see what you missed.

Fun quiz, harder but still a lot of fun. Thanks Buzz.
Congrats all who played, well done.
The ones I got wrong, well two of them I had never seen and one of those I had the correct one as a possibility but scratched it. The third one, if it is at all possible to kick myself, I actually made a reference to that one during the weekend when I was working in Florida to a fellow worker, "Wax on, wax off".
Was fun and good brain exercise. Next one sounds hard
The only reason it could be hard is because you might not be a fan of anime movies. You will not have to have seen the movies as you did for a couple of the ones on this quiz, because all that you need to know will be available to you. It was harder for me to prepare because I had seen only one of the movies and I'm not a big fan of anime movies.
Have never seen any of these films except "Picnic at Hanging Rock". I used to work close to where much of the film was shot. The film was later reshot and released as a TV serial over about 4 weeks, I enjoyed both greatly, much different to the usual Hollywood garbage we get served up here .
Congratulations to all!
Looks like I'm toast on this next one, but I'll give it a try. I've never watched an anime movie.
